I just loved how he stopped being in story telling mode and switched to seizing the opportunity to thank his wife for being there in a hard time. She is a wise woman to see beyond the surface of his grumpiness and get help. Thanks for this example.
My husband gets angry or snide and sarcastic if I show any emotion. I cannot have sadness or need without being reviled by him. We will never be close again. 😢
