I want to focus on the news that the Pakistan anti-corruption court (National Accountability Bureau) had earlier sentenced former Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif to 10 years in jail and his daughter to 7 years, for buying four luxury apartments in Park Lane, London (yup, Park Lane like in Monopoly) in the 1990s. The ownership of these properties were exposed by the Panama Papers leak in 2016. Nawaz was unable to explain how he managed to purchase these luxury apartments and as such was found guilty of money laundering. What is really interesting about this case was his daughter made a claim that a Qatari prince's investment fund gifted the properties to them. Sounds familiar? The real comedy in this saga is the fact that she produced a 2006 Qatari prince letter to support her claim. It turns out that the letter dated 2006 was written in a Microsoft font that was only introduced in 2007!
