Really lovely voice, but the pace of this rendition was slow; it needed more punch. And more high notes. Listen to Sutherland's 1960 version to hear the greatest voice of all time blow this out of the park.
Suth ,frequencies are to the ear as taste is to the palate.We all differ, to me Hallstein sings better than Sutherland although she is a wonderful soprano.Another thing to consider is the recording of the music at the time ,bearing in mind a mixing desk can work wonders to a voice .My son is in the sound/music industry as says with a mixing desk he could make me sound like Pavarotti . Suth ,there are some wonderful singers we hear today both male and female and you, like me, I assume, love music and its sooths the mind .May you have many hours of enjoyment with music.Thanks for reading my opinions.
I don't know why Sutherland's rendition of this song should be the criterion to judge other singers' singing of this song. If you let me choose between Kang and Sutherland, my choice is the former and I have my own reasons for that choice.
I just came back after listening to Sutherland's version. After this, I realized how great Soprano Kang is. Kang's version comes alive and is so natural and appeals to my inner heart. The only drawback Kang has is that she lives and performs in a small Asian country where classical music like this is not much popular.
@@sonamoo919 To each their own. I'd never heard of Kang before this; lovely voice, but he tempo was slower and less exciting, and the brilliant edge of the voice was missing. We'll see where she is in 30 years.
