Punk needs a lifetime position with AEW, even after he's done in the ring, he absolutely has to produce & mentor the next several generations of pro wrestlers.
Think that's the goal. Alot of people expect/want AEW to overtake WWE immediately but it isn't just gonna happen like that. If they can keep guys like Punk, Sting, Mox, DB, etc after their careers in-ring are done, THATS the key for future generations of talent and when becoming the top company can be a reality. Its insane what TK is doing with AEW. People whos passions were destroyed by the evil empire crying because they are just so happy to be doing what they love the way they want. If AEW did nothing else, it gave a guy who absolutely loved wrestling a chance to eventually leave it on his own terms. I know Bret can't go anymore, but I know he'd get the royal treatment if he ever wanted to get involved be it a consultant or anything else. What happened to Punk was terrible, an imposter company just sucked his life out of him and he jumped before he was pushed, it was so bad for 7 years he didn't even want to remember how much he once loved the biz. He's back now, and it means so much to him. Bret is the ultimate tragedy, arguably loved wrestling more than anybody, he was betrayed, got paid to enter a long-winded retirement home (wcw), which ended suddenly and violently. Then he had a stroke to top it all off when he was riding his bike. It's even harder for Bret, I hope one day he gets to do stuff on his own terms again one day to the best of whatever his abilities can be

AEW wrestlers. I don't normally like to pedantic but "superstars" is a term the other place uses and they're doing everything they can to erase the wrestling from Pro-wrestling. Danielson said it best when he joined AEW: "why did I come here? I am a PRO-WRESTLER".
What a class act. It was so nice what he said about Bret. Who was my childhood hero as a kid. He's such a good guy for giving back to Wrestling what Wrestling gave to him.

I appreciate how he’s still uncomfortable breaking kayfabe. When he was asked where the idea for the dog collar story came from, you could tell he struggled with how to answer that.
Finally! TK isnt smiling from ear to ear with his popping outta his head the entire time. TK is just spacing out for once near the end. The real TK finally shines through. I'm so happy & relieved to see TK letting his guard down for once & just being his true self.

This might be my favorite thing to see in AEW - people being happy and thriving. It was clear that Punk used to love wrestling so much. That fire became dimmer and dimmer over time, until that light was gone completely. Wrestling became toxic to him, destroying him physically and psychologically. In the years since, wrestling wasn't a happy memory for him to go back to; it was haunting him. I don't think he wanted to return just to have those wounds torn open again. He was, at best, lukewarm about AEW when it first started. Then he opened himself to AEW, which didn't just give him a platform; it gave him back the love of his life. I think the emotion you're seeing from Punk here is him realizing that the thing he thought was completely dead, is back now and it's real. He's realizing that he's able to experience all of this with gratitude, instead of trepidation and caution.
God bless you cm punk one of my favorite wrestlers to see his love reignited for professional wrestling.is so awesome seeing him tear up made me tear up man cause this man deserved so much more in wwe thank god aew exists because were getting cm punk in a legendary run of his career in aew
@12:20 thats a fact, I've been a wwf/wwe fan since 84, even thought ECW WCW was around I only knew more of wwe because they were the one everyone was trying to dethrone, only knew that way of wrestling, the moment AEW arrived I was confused what really was missing but I was bored, pissed, and angry at wwe because we just wanted something with substance, I didn't take long to realize the bs we were given year after year, AEW is doing phenomenal imo, and having a VOICE letting the wrestlers have a voice is super refreshing
Been a fan since 92 of wwf/wwe. I lost so much interest In wrestling especially after Punk left WWE but then AEW started, I tuned in again, watched it grow and sign all these stars to then put on a great Dynamites, PPVs and great wrestling with stories with guys i never really knew about like Hangman, MJF (my fav atm), Darby, Luchasaourous, Jungle Boy, Young Bucks, Sammy/Santan/Ortis & Wardlow (another fav of mine). Revolutuon PPV last week that was absolutely phenomenal and was better than any WrestleMania of the last decade and will be alot better than this years for sure. MJF v Punk made my mind up with all their promos, matches & story telling that Max has all the tools & Punk has made him an even bigger star along with the involvement of Wardlow just to get the rub.
I remember meeting CM Punk 7 years ago at a comic con in Chicago and being one of the idiots having him sign a WWE funko of him. For all the bad rep people give him I still remember that day getting my picture taken, and shaking his hand just made me so happy, from one kid from Chicago to the next he was one of the nicest celebrities I’ve ever met. I was completely turned off wrestling when he left because the last passionate WRESTLER had left the business and seeing him back just elates me. I plan on going to Flatbacks to train next year and if I become anything it’s because he inspired me to do it. He’s a godsend for us.

Just saw Tony Khans life flash before his eyes when Punk said he could be done again 😂 then the instant relief wash over his face when Punk said “if I wasn’t having so much fun”.
AEW is so much more than a just "another wrestling company". It's actually REINSPIRING these guys as if they are debuting their careers and that is something to be said about Tony Khan and the team they've built to create such a harmonic environment where it is even bringing back those that used to grow up on the late 80's and 90's, to 2000s wrestling days. It feels like glory days of wrestling, and it's been an amazing mix of a new breed of the generation of wrestlers with the veterans performing as if they are only in their late twenties. That's what you call absolutely being in love with your craft. This is incredible.
God, I teared up and chills ran up and down my arm when that fucking music hit. Punk is an absolute all-time great. What a match, what a moment for both him and MJF.
This is why everything with him is so passionate - he's old enough to be reflective and appreciate what he's done and appreciates what he's currently doing. This guy is the real deal and really does love professional wrestling ans what he is doing. The proof is in the ring with what he's doing and who he's working with.

@@ToxicAvengerCleanYourMind the fuck do you mean? Both of them are signed to AEW still.

I'm so emotional watching this. Everything about this match was perfect. The build up, the story, the promos. The callback entrance to his ROH days. 10/10
One of the best wrestling storylines in modern wrestling.
AEW not only has reignited Punks fire and love for pro wrestling, but also MANY fans who wanted this back. Who stuck behind him for years after the pipebomb. I felt like the 8 year old that fell in love with pro wrestling all over again on Sunday night.

Out of everyone, you have the best quality from the post media scrum. Thank you for staying up extra late to do this! Hope you have a great week!
It makes me so happy seeing punk speak so fondly of Bret Hart (my all time favourite wrestler). He clearly understands and appreciates the opportunity he has taken.
"I know it [ROH] won't end up being some tab on some shit-confusing app that's impossible to navigate, and the boys don't get paid for it."
Awesome line.
Def a dig at WWE and how it's ran, dude even if AEW goes public, I know that Tony Khan and how he lets the wrestlers TELL THE STORY, all this in what 3 years lifestan. Like Punk said Wrestling is in good hands
If you think Khan is going to pay ex ROH stars royalties I have magic beans to sale you. Punk is a bitter asshole constantly taking shots at the company that actually made him a star.
@@rleonardgreen78 I think you're the one that's coming off as bitter, punk lived it....you only get a taste of what happens

I'm soooo mad happy that AEW is the company the brought back CM Punk, and look how well they have treat my boy as IT SHOULD, and just like Punk got emotional just thinking ROH is in good hands, I so happy he is this PASSIONATE AGAIN about PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING, if he would have returned in WWE, we would have a very different kind of talk right now....so I'm so grateful, we are in the right timeline, hearing Miseria Cantare last night was a BLAST.
Thank you for getting this. You always seem to be in the best spot lol
"Bret Hart is always right"
That means a lot to us Hart Guys❤️
Punk needs a lifetime position with AEW, even after he's done in the ring, he absolutely has to produce & mentor the next several generations of pro wrestlers.
imagine being trained by him AND WILLIAM REGAL...
omg T.T
Think that's the goal. Alot of people expect/want AEW to overtake WWE immediately but it isn't just gonna happen like that. If they can keep guys like Punk, Sting, Mox, DB, etc after their careers in-ring are done, THATS the key for future generations of talent and when becoming the top company can be a reality. Its a long game.
@Jaime A. You know, in just one short month I think I'm completely wrong. I don't think AEW can get there as long as Tony is in charge, unless he changes drastically. Every day he shows more and more that he's just an entitled kid that thinks he's a God.
2:23 yooooo f... that hit me right in the feels when punk was almost crying of happiness or of just being overwhelmed in general. With all the shit that he has been going through in the wrestling business (wwe) it is so beautiful to see that his passion for wrestling is back and it also shows how much wrestling has meant to him even in the times when he didn't watch anything regarding wrestling. Deep down he knew that this is his true passion and this is what he is meant to do. Thank god for tony khan bringing Punk back to the big stages and making him enjoy wrestling again. AEW might not be perfect but it still brought back one of the greatest wrestlers of the last 20 years. XXX WE LOVE U PUNK XXX

Its insane what TK is doing with AEW. People whos passions were destroyed by the evil empire crying because they are just so happy to be doing what they love the way they want. Punk really hasn’t felt this since 2005 because thats when the last time wrestling was wrestling to him, prolly feels so good to be back after thinking it was never gonna happen
Rey Mysterio and CM Punk inspired me to be who I was meant to be as a human being. That's the message real wrestling fans will get. I completely understand Punk when he started talking about Bret Hart. It made me cry because I know how beautiful it feels, the kind of being blessed by them. I wish the whole world could be inspired the same way so we all make it a better place and follow their example. Incredibly grateful! 🙏🏻🥺❤️

Paying homage to the greats Like Roddy Piper and Bret Hart is so great. They were the originators. Hart with the technical aspects of pro wrestling. And Piper the man on the mic and a true legend
I've been a fan of CM Punk since I was in elementary school & to see him back in wrestling & to see him regain the passion that he had before he went to WWE just makes me feel so happy for him. Also for him to say that he would give up his 2nd chance for Bret Hart, that just made my respect for Punk skyrocket. Phil Brooks is a good man.
Dude I am so happy for Punk. Thank you TK for giving these performers new life. Thank you for being a huge fan.
This aged well
Been a big Punk fan since like 2007 when I was 7 years old. Crazy to see him back and still killing it. Love ya Punk
For those who think Punk is faking his happiness for being at AEW, watch this; he CLEARLY has so much respect for Tony Khan and is so relieved to find a large company that treats his prior work with respect (re: the ROH footage). He was clearly in support of the wrestlers getting what they deserve and believes that Tony is doing that for them. Bravo.
He clearly has no respect for the company that turned him into the attraction that he is, unlike Bryan.
He turned himself into an attraction.

Had punk never gone to WWE, would he be the star he is today? Of course not. I get he has bitterness towards them for the creative issues and the doctor issue he had, but he is treating them like they were trying to kill his career. No way was wwe trying to kill his career they just made some erroneous decisions with his booking. Punk needs to move on but it seems like he still had the hatred toward them. If I were punk I’d be grateful for the opportunities wwe gave me.
For that 7 years away, I missed CM Punk every single day, seeing him have this passion for the business back and having fun doing it just makes me so goddamn happy
Look how happy he is
If AEW did nothing else, it gave a guy who absolutely loved wrestling a chance to eventually leave it on his own terms. It's even harder for Bret, I hope one day he gets to do stuff on his own terms again one day to the best of whatever his abilities can be
You forgot that he also lost his brother Owen to the company he once loved so much and betrayed him mercilessly!
Everytime I see goldberg being out of breath in 2 minutes. To see him squash guys like owens and fiend. It pissed me off and still does. Bret Harts career was cut short because of that incompetent dumbass who even in his prime couldnt fucking wrestle. It was all presentation and nothing else. Love you Punk. You as well as the other AEW superstars have revived wrestling.
AEW wrestlers. I don't normally like to pedantic but "superstars" is a term the other place uses and they're doing everything they can to erase the wrestling from Pro-wrestling.
Danielson said it best when he joined AEW: "why did I come here? I am a PRO-WRESTLER".
Cm punk and Tony are awesome 💚♥️🍀🌼🙏🙏
What a class act. It was so nice what he said about Bret. Who was my childhood hero as a kid. He's such a good guy for giving back to Wrestling what Wrestling gave to him.
So happy for him. I was scared for him after he left WWE. I could tell that he was unwell. He looked so pallid onscreen, and I was very concerned about him. I’m so glad he’s healthy and happy.

I appreciate how he’s still uncomfortable breaking kayfabe. When he was asked where the idea for the dog collar story came from, you could tell he struggled with how to answer that.

You know it's hard af being the "Vince" of this, but also being a nerdy sweaty wrestling geek trying his hardest not to pass out by sitting next to Punk
Lol also since he is the Vince you know this guy has like 80 things going on in his head but also has to be attentive with the conference
Ran out of cocaine
Watching the dog collar match made me feel like a kid again. THANK YOU CM PUNK THANK YOU MJF AND THANK YOU TONY KHAN

Tony is such a good dude. Having such an empathetic person as your boss must be amazing.

CM PUNK BEST IN THE WORLD! so glad he’s back wrestling for 7 years he was missed badly in the wrestling industry, THERES ONLY ONE CM PUNK!
Weird? A wrestling company that makes their employees happy and moved to tears at the thought Of open conversation and freedom Foreign concept to me.
