Julia Hartley-Brewer CLASHES With Former Labour Advisor Over Poverty In The UK

- Children living in poverty cannot wait for “an ideal world” for the two-child benefit cap to be scrapped, campaigners have said.
It comes after Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said he would make such a change but that “we haven’t got the resources to do it at the moment”.
Figures including the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby and human rights lawyer Cherie Blair have previously called for the cap, which was introduced in 2017 and restricts Child Tax Credit and Universal Credit to the first two children in most households, to be done away with.
Julia says: "I don't think there are children in the UK without shoes."

No, he doesn't. Just like all politicians. Why is all the food and drink heavily subsidised in the House of Commons bars? Obscene and totally unnecessary.
Stop sending money to other countries IF there are children without shoes, what are their parents spending their money on? Poverty would mean no tv, internet, not enough food, all while NOT smoking, drinking, doing drugs....
Agree a totally fabricated message, show me some kids that cant afford shoes and il get them some, no one starves in this country, british people are in essence very kind, his message is insulting and he is obviously canvassing for a job!

We were poor when I was a child, but we never went without shoes. We never had a fridge, tv, phone or car. Holidays were day coach trips to the seaside, with packed lunches from home. I joined the girl guides but had to leave because I had no uniform, we could not afford one. I spent hours reading, the library was free. My parents paid into a Christmas Club for months to save enough for presents and a capon. We were not aware of being poor, most of our neighbours were in the same boat. Our childhood was a happy, oblivious one, we played outdoors with friends and we had no pocket money until starting a Saturday job at age of fourteen.
We would never steal either! Even if we were struggling, no one would ever take milk or bread left on a neighbours doorstep, never crossed our minds. Now poverty, which is no way what we experienced, is an excuse for all law breaking and even violence.

Many of the poor in the country are paying taxes and also pensioners are paying taxes only to find that we cannot get to see a doctor, cannot get our children into the local school cannot get to see a dentist but these new arrivals have all of that and more, and further more they get a new iphone, free food free health care free houses free bicycles and money.
