I live about 30 minutes away from the 3rd largest Mall in the US, the King of Prussia Mall. A mall so large, my friend's and I have legit got lost in it before. And with all its stores it just feels... empty. Soulless and empty.
Just imagine how soulless and empty they’ll be when literally nobody works at & goes to them (and there’s monsters hiding in the shadows probably in this fantasy)
Thank you for this. Citizen Kane changed my life when I was 12 and this mall was mentioned by the teacher at the end of the film. Thankfully he passed before it was ever completed; staying true to the Hollywood story. RIP Keith
A big part of the mall's problems is how expensive it is to visit. $5 for parking, $100 for the water park, an amusement park with prices comparable to the much bigger Six Flags Great Adventure an hour away, etc. They've essentially priced out any locals and seemingly are banking on tourists to make the mall a success.
7:33 OMG!😂 I didn’t expect to see Mr. Majority Report himself, Sam Seder in your video but here we are. Super cool to see him at younger age, love that you put him in your video
Imagine looking at a place with arcades, rides, art exhibits, a water park, and ski slopes and actual things to do instead of just mindlessly buy shit you don’t need and be like “those damn capitalists…. Going out and having fun…”
Funny timing on the video, I'm taking my daughter there this weekend for the Nickelodeon theme park. I haven't been up in this area in about 10 years. There's a few restaurants in local businesses that I like up there. Now I kind of feel bad about supporting them all the plow over swampland. guess is nothing that could be done about that now. It looks like there's a lot of stuff there, but I'm just looking online. I'm sure very much correct about it being overcrowded and certain things, and completely dead, and other areas. That's how the cherry Hill mall is. the one side of the mall is pretty much dead but the other side where all the kid, friendly stores and food court is is packed. They need to extend the food court, it's like 5-10 minutes in line to get a Boba tea.
I have family in Jersey and so once or twice a year for my entire life I’d drive past the empty husk of Xanadu and then I truly couldn’t believe when it ended up actually opening, it’s so much larger than a normal mall 😭
'waiting in line for a youtube burger' lmao The original inventor of 'the mall' wanted malls to be a 3rd place for people to hangout; a modern town square. He was a socialist reformer. Too bad capitalism ruins everything. Malls THRIVING in the East though. Chinese malls are bumping
You Mr. Beast haters are all the same. Ignoring him curing blindness. Ignoring him bringing water to the thirsty. Ignoring him providing a completely substandard burger or chocolate bar to the seven to thirteen year old demographic.
Just like the real American Dream: endlessly delayed, over budget, and dead on arrival.

Mall, symbol of the American Dream, is too expensive and bankrupt. Wonder what the allegory is?
great stuff, love your channel, cant wait to see more!

Your sarcasm and insight (and movie references!) are really top-notch in this one. Love the vibe of your videos dawg
RIP The American Dream
Good riddance. Stay visionary.
American malls as metaphor for the American Dream is both beautiful and heartbreaking.

I didn’t know he’s been doing his thing for that long! Also he had the great photo of Joe Rogan crying behind him 😂

Sam Sedar jumpscare wtf
Oh no Sam Seder! What a fucking nightmare!
I don't understand why they open it, malls were already slowly dying at this time
betting the family mall business on your own new mall and blowing it. its giving daddy issues
1:52 The Mandela Effect has changed this to "If you build it, HE will come".
Did you just assume their gender?

I tried going to cherry hill mall a few days ago but passed by deptfort mall and just went there instead. They are so close to each other
Great presentation, love the ending.
no one does it like Alex Novell
8:45 Lokks like PARADISE. For various reasons. 9:22 This one is a bit suspicious.
northern new jersey is why I am like this... I will not elaborate (I'm from Bayonne)
I need more big malls in my life :(
That’s what she said
Another great video Alex
I went to the mall this week for the waterpark and amusement park. The waterpark is top tier I hope it makes it.
Great video, thanks!
Video is great! Well put together!

Visit MOA
With how much climate change is happening and all the business closures, we got chaos.
