I’ve watched an embarrassing amount of IWTV reactions and you two are definitely at the top! 3 weeks in between episodes makes me want to rip my hair out as this season is SO GOOD so I’m anxiously awaiting for you guys to see the rest. You will not be disappointed! Especially episode 5 which may be one of the best episodes of television ever?
I cannot wait because IWTV really is one of the best shows on TV rn. Episode 5 is so good and Episode 8 is one of my favorite to watch reactions to. I cannot wait for them to watch Season 3 with us!
I'm not the biggest Loumand fan, but that last scene is one of my favorite moments of this season. The pain in their voices, their first kiss, the sadness of this whole situation is just heart-wrenching. And I have to say, the background music for this scene is absolutely beautiful.
Ya'll. So I just binged your IWTV reviews over the past couple days and ran out?! Seriously though - /obsessed/ with your takes - and I really hope you finish S2 soon! It is SO - GOOD. And there's a fan(g)tastic teaser trailer for S3 that I think you'll also love!
This episode is actually amongst my favourites (probably because Lestat is my fave so I like to see him from a new perspective, also because he and Armand are basically crazy x crazier) so can't wait to see how you liked it
Everyone thinks they're different, that they'd have the capacity and the capablility to live forever. Anne rice was like, you want immortality? Here's what immortality is like
The "feels a bit German" line gagged me on first watch lmao. Lestat's maker is Magnus, while Armand's maker is Marius. A big reason why diva Lestat is strong (besides some people just turning out as strong vampires, according to the books) is because Magnus never made a fledgling before he turned Lestat. You're pretty spot on about the dilution. Armand's maker is Marius and is way more ancient, so that plus Aramnd being quite old relative to other vampires (in the show, he's like twice Lestat's age iirc) is why the theatre twink, er, Aramnd is so strong. Unless S3 retcons aspects of the book, they don't stop time. When vampires live long enough, drink the blood of older vampires, or are fledglings made from a vampire who is really old and/or hasn't made many other fledglings, they develop other powers. All vampires have the Mind Gift which gives them telepathy, but it also eventually makes them telekinetic. The "time stop" we've seen is a combination of telepathy to stop thought and telekinesis to stop things. (There's also the Cloud Gift for flight, Fire Gift for pyrokinesis, and in the books a Gift that is basically the typical "vampire hypnotism" but I think the show just made that part of the Mind Gift.)
Came here to say all of this. 😂 I really hope they clarify the “time stopping” thing next season, I have not yet seen one reactor understand it and it’s honestly something that should have been clarified at some point in the show.
@@gwenharper5334 Yeah every one I've watched assumes it's time powers. This isn't that kind of vampire fiction lol. I hope they clarify them better, though I can sorta see an excuse for it in how we've gotten little overall in-depth explanation on the powers (even Louis basically handwaves the Cloud Gift reveal, and they never make as big a deal as they should about the Fire Gift) given that Lestat and Armand keep things from Louis who is our point-of-view in these first two seasons.
@@gwenharper5334 Same 😂. Other reactors have been like "freezing time", "stopping time", etc. And even I know that, without the clarification, it's not "time stopping." Rather it's freezing objects or immobilizing people. It's not so much the "freezing" or "stopping" that gets me, but the "time" part. Controlling time would imply a lot more than just controlling the movements of people and objects on a street or in a parlor room 😭.
I just binged all your IWTV reactions but, as other comments pointed out, you haven't uploaded in two months. Are you going to continue the series?? I can't imagine you wanted to drop it..
From the books Armand’s maker was Marius who was one of the first vampires. Marius was in charge of the care of the first 2 vampires. Akasha (queen of the Damed) & Ankil, her mate. They were the rulers of Egypt.
the weird thing is that the next episode was uploaded on patreon and then videos that were posted after that one on patreon have since been uploaded to youtube... did you guys forget to upload ep 4 to youtube?
Intense but engaging is VERY accurate! Really enjoying your reactions to this toxic but tantalising show! Can't wait to how you react to the rest of the season!
“I could talk until the end of the world and I could never tell you what you have destroyed here” one of my favourite quotes of the whole series. This one was said by Armand in the show and in the books. Another one which I enjoyed: “ we own nothing” said by Daciana in episode 1 season 2. So very true.
Love your reactions - you're both insane in your own particular and charming way - but I have one correction: Lestat and Armand were not made by the same maker. Armand was made by Marius de Romanus in the fifteenth century; Lestat's maker, Magnus, was a rebellious member of Armand's Paris coven before he went rogue and created Lestat. This is also why Lestat and Armand can communicate telepathically - makers and fledglings never have that connection.
08:36. Not sure if you caught this but here lestat calls that boy (lover) he was with “nicky.” This is important as back in season 1, Claudia questions Lestat about his first love, nicky, trying to get a rise out of him. Lestat mentioned that Nicky passed away.
I got introduced to u both from your heartbreak high videos and now I'm obsessed and I love the fraise "we do gaysh*t" it makes me laugh everytime😂 Even though I am young I love this show aswell😂😂❤

Armand is certainly telling… an interesting version of events here. Love that he put Lestat in a clown suit though, I agree with him there. 🤡 (And i say that with deep love for Lestat. 💖)
Oh i am so excited for you to get to the rest of the series! Especially episode 5 which is as someone pointed out. One of the best episodes in TV imo. Not just in this show!. Yes this show makes you so enthralled and captivated by every scene that you forget to breathe! The Loumand scene in the tunnel and after that was beautiful! The Loustat hallucination kiss was so violent and heart wrenching, and you realise Louis is really in a bad place. I love this series♥️. And i love you Guys' reaction! You're hilarious!

Seeing Armand and Lestat’s history was quite fascinating as was the fact how Louis and Armand were drawn together due to their history of having been loved and broken hearted by the same vampire. Some would call them lovebirds; I’d call them “lovebats”! 😆🧛🏻♂️🧛🏽🧛🏾🧛🏾♀️🩸
Finally watching the new series and loving every episode. I really hope we get to Queen of the Damned, my favourite book out of the series. But no spoilers :D
Dropping shows halfway through isn't a good way to gain new audience. I got recommended the channel based on this show, and before investing my time to watch ep1 I checked the playlist to see if it was complete. Looks like you dropped it halfway through the season, so why should I even start watching?
There's a mini series about the Gay world and how we got where we are but somehow no one knows it exists, even in the Gay Community. Directed by the man who did My Own Private Idaho (gay movie) Gus Van Sant and written by Tom Daly's Husband Dustin Lance Black. It's called WHEN WE RISE and you'd think someone would know about it but practically no one does even though it was made only 7 years ago.
I enjoy the parrallels and wanted to add something I notice(feel free to let me know if I'm off base). In 9:53 I think this is another parrallel in how under strict and oppressive religion, queer people like the vampires (in this scene)view themselves as abominations that go against such beliefs and so, in understanding that there's nothing they can do to "fix" this, they deny themselves and create these interesting loopholes that they believe can help rectify what they are as much as possible. The vampires create these rules and principles saying that is in service of their "creator" but in actuality their existence is widely viewed as a direct opposition to their God no matter how they spin it. It's like their last line of defense. I found it a bit similar to how certain queer people will cling to these systems and end up hating themselves but will find ways to ease the guilt by performing tasks in their name, sometimes even going as far as self-mutilation and self-hatred(or a denial of indulging in oneself) as a way to make amends for what they are. Only when they are radicalized by Lestat(Armand's thoughts for half a century) do they embrace what they are and finally live happily. However like Armand said, some vampires couldn't deal with the switch up after having for so long spent in a way castrating themselves to now finding pride in what they are. I imagine its mind-breaking to go from living this life of now seemingly pointless misery where you thought your only saving grace was that you understood and tried to sanctify your inherent sinfulness to now being told it didn't matter, and that you should've just loved yourself.
The flirtation between Armand and Luis was really well done, very romantic. Armand was written to be beautiful. Even in the book, The Vampire Lestat, in Lestats own POV he describes his fascination and his desire for Armand, and beautifully so: “… Yet never had Nicholas, mortal or immortal, been so alluring. Never had Gabrielle held me so in thrall. Dear God, this is love. This is desire. And all my past amours had been but the shadow of this.”
I just got into this show and have been running to TH-cam right after each episode I watch to watch your reactions. I love them! DONT love however all the folks putting spoilers and hints about Armand in the comments. Geesh, contain yourselves.
