Hey Shug the numbers on your ruler are centimeters the ten ticks between are millimeters. Love the vids. :)
Eye am knot thut smart.....
One inch is 25.4 mm = 2.54 cm. Otherwise nice video.
@@mirjahmlinen2698 I got the grams part right though! I will not try to appease the Metric World anymore. Sticking solely to Imperial cause I like the word Imperial.
What is this, a hammock for ants?
@@chrysincognitio3751 for centipedes and millipedes.
Thanks for the hours and hours of quality entertainment shug!
Thankee...off for a trip today.
This video was so helpful. Thank you very much. Probably the best hammock rundown I’ve seen yet.
Thanks and thankee.
We are having a heat wave here in South Georgia, heat index over 110. High humidity! I'm ready for some cooler temps so I can get back out with my hammock and take a nap!
We had a high of 68ºF today. Sorry. cool and cloudy.
I like those superimposed shots during the bass jam - remind me of the VHS tapes I used to watch back in the day.
Retro-edit for sure. Had fun doing the wee bass cut video. I think I just do camping videos now to add some bass at the end!!! haaaa
You need to put out an album of all your music!! Thank you all your hammock knowledge , I have learned so much from you.
I do have my jams on Soundcloud. Virtual album. Or cassette...soundcloud.com/you/sets
Thank you!! I downloaded the app and now following you.
Wow, Cool Video. So many choices. Thanks Brother, Have a Great Week!
Yes it does. I did weigh it with the spreader bars and you can see them in the wee video clip.
Best HAMMOCK site period 👍🏻
Thankee...period!
The shenanigans/outtakes at the end were the icing on the cake. 😂 Glad to see you’re well Shug. Thanks for the education as always.
Glad I had some for the end. Thankee.
Shug!!!!! Never can get enough of your wisdom and knowledge!!!!!!
Please keep dishing it out huge spoonfuls at a time!!!! Thank You!!!!!!
I will continue to a teaspoon at a time. As long as I have something worth sharing. Thankee.
Mix Master Shug😎
You got that right~~
Sounding smooth on the bass! ✌🏼☕️
Thankee..it is a smooth groovy groove.
Dewd those dimples are hanging one cute hammock grin. Wait what the hoarding hammocks? Hammock by the gram...careful boys and girls hammocks are a gateway drug🤣
So are bass guitars!
Brother??? Another new bass?? You can't get enough. I know the feeling. No bad vibes from me.
Yes. Got it for a steal. Think I may be a collector. Things of beauty and function excite me.
Shug, good to see ya again!
Thankee.
Those are some lovely chammocks you chave there :) Cool base tune! squish squish
Chanks....
Wow, Shug, the angst you must feel when deciding which hammock to take on the trip. That’s more than my pee brain can handle.
Usually a Superior Gear or my Eldorado for the most part.
Great video as always
Whoooooo Buddy)))))
Love your hammock wisdom. And LOVE your jam sessions!
Thanks and thankee. I'm so enjoying playing the bass.
God bless you shug. Keep up the great videos buddy!!!!!
Thankee.
If you need me I'll just be over here, hanging in my hammock and grooving to some slick bass😎
Thanks for the video as always, Shug! Nice to see all these setups packed in one spot.
I reckon I needed to see them all together too. Bass is taking over my hammock lust!
Hey Shug nice see you 🙂
Right~~ See me.
Thanks shug would love a gear load out for summer and winter set up

You Sir are a Legend! Thank you for all you provide entertainment and knowledge wise!! Greatly appreciated 👍
Whooooo Buddy))) Don't you have to be dead to be a legend????
Ok now I don’t feel so bad about how many hammocks I have. “Normal is being in the company of others like yourself”. Thanks, Shug, for making me feel normal.
Never feel bad for being a "collector". It is a positive thing.
Hey Shug - just saw the piece on WGN about Midnight Circus - very cool!
Yessir. One weekend of shows. Chicago parks cut their funding. Hopefully not their end!
@@shugemery I'm really hoping our current mayor gets wise on how important these events are to the city and its communities and advocates on their behalf. I did contact his office expressing those thoughts. It's so cool, Shug - your choices and approach to living are enriching the lives of kids and adults in places far and wide. That's been the case for years, but it was really cool to see that piece with Aerial continuing to share that tradition.
Super. Thank you!
Y'elcome. I too pay taxes.
Shug, watching your older videos with the Shug brothers, how's Hickory? Miss him.
He is well. We have not been able to get our schedules to line up or make the time for a good long trip.
Rocking that bass!!
Groovy!
Great to see a vid from you, the bass playing is sounding better every time.
I appreciate that. Playing daily since I started and still really enjoying it. Lots to learn!
Hey Shug, You needed to include the zero on the MM measurement . . . ;>)
At least you remembered to put your clothes on 8>)
Thanks for sharing info that was not previously available.
I'm the zero! This will be my last foray into the metric world. And I don't know centimeters or millimeters. I do know centipedes though.
Love the video SHUG. Well done! Getting into hammocks now thanks to your videos. Tried one Henessee Hammock 20 years ago bottom entry and didn’t like it. Never went back. With the newer ones out I am going Warbonnet XLC I believe! Thanks SHUG!!
I had a bottom entry but gave it away to a lady with mobility issues. XLC is a top hammock...just make sure to follow their set-up instructions carefully. Especially the foot end higher part. .....www.warbonnetoutdoors.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/hammock-setup.pdf
@@shugemery thanks SHUG!! Appreciate it!!
Always useful and interesting. Appreciated.
Thankee...
Hey Shug, heard you retired from show biz, I'll miss you at the fair this year but I'll make sure all is clear in the sector 🤘
True....I did retire in 2020 when covid caused all my gigs to be cancelled. After 40 years of performing I thought it was a good time to look ahead to other things. Have fun at the Fair. It is the Best~
Can't decide which part I enjoyed most. I vote for the bass line, but the hammock discussion was enjoyable as well. To me music and outdoors venturing go hand in hand.
I just the hammock videos now to inspire the bass playing....haaaa. Thankee for the good words.
Thankee Shug.
Y'elcome~~
Thank you.
Y'elcome.
Quite the collection of hammocks and an ever expanding plethora of bass guitars there shug. Me thinks yer gonna need a bigger ' man cave ' soon. Good to see you again. Till the next one. Ian
I've actually downsized the hammock collection a bit. Sold some unicycles. Got rid of junk I'm my World ofDistraction. More room for basses now!
Holy heaping hammock hummock, Batman! :- )
Hammock hoarding humbles humans Hulk! I use my Superiors and Eldorado the most though.
Blessings upon you Shugmeister.
I am for sure.
Shug, my wife and i love your videos. Although, the navy took us to san diego, and there are no trees! Please, forgive us our sins as we seek refuge in our canvas cages (tents).
You are forgiven. My daughter slept in a tent this weekend. All good. Ya' gotta do what you gotta do.
I keep my hammock inside its sack that is within another larger sack containing my bugnet, tarp, and suspension. All have their own sack. My suspension sack then becomes my ridgline organizer. It all goes in a sack on my back. Lots of sacks! A hammock is even a sort of sack for me!
Snooze Sack!

So awesome to see the Shuginator! Best wishes from (a very hot at the moment) Islamabad, Pakistan!
Whooooo Buddy))) Luckily fairly cool here today.
Shug is at the top of his game
I am descending from the summit......
Hey Shug! You should consider making a video about hanging in storms/severe weather.
I have various clips of me doing that in several trip videos. It is pretty much a "put your tarp up first" type of thing.

th-cam.com/video/ekn_PBsGB6c/w-d-xo.html
Lurve a good hammock vid 😊 I can’t give a stuff anymore - just cram the hammock into my dry bag and deploy it straight from my pack.
I like it.
Shug make you for the video
And you have quite an arsenal of hammocks
Each with their own pros and cons and comfortability and unique setups
Again thank you and have yourself a wonderful day
All secure in sector seven
I use my Superiors and Eldorado the most though.
Without doing any research on this I seem to recall that the Dutchware partial bug net being called a Half-wit. Kind of a fitting name but I do love Dutch’s stuff. Affordable for being a cottage manufacturer.
Correct. It is the Half-Wit. Mine was before it was even sold.
Thanks for yet another feelgood vid! I really enjoyed the mixup with the centimeters and millimeters as it made me dream of having a hammock that takes up a few millimeters of space
Thankee. My attempts to play to the Metric Crowd failed.
Thanks for this. I'm noticing I'm packing less bulk with my hammock setup these days since I need more comfort items for a tent setup. Nice to know the bulk of bridge & Amok hammocks isn't too bad. Nice grooves.
No...not bad bulk at all. Oh the camping choices!
Just got my 0⁰F Superior Gear a week ago. Waited 3½ months on the lead time. Wishing winter would hurry up.

Yes. They are called Hammock Group Hangs. Good times!!
YesSir I had me a bowl of them centimeters with some mustard for lunch a few times went wernt no biscuits nor french fried taters around. Them 100 legs make some good eatn yessir. Jessie stil wernt no good though. Thanks for the share. Enjoy the coming Fall season.
Centipedes and millipedes and me done made friends.
Love the video, always good to see what you have going on... but now I feel compelled to get out all my hammocks and compare them! I enjoy having different types of hammocks but for backpacking Superior Gear is the favorite: lightest, coziest and most usable of all the hammocks I have. But setting up in the yard for the day: always my Eagles Nest Outfitters Double Nest with my tiny tarp overhead. That Double Nest I can lay any direction and mix up my positioning easily: crosswise & crossed legged and swinging...too much fun. Truly a fellow hammock lover, thanks for all you put out there🐱
I too really like my SG hammocks. Yard hammocks are a different deal. Nice to cover all bases.
Great video!
Thanks for some good info!

I keep all my hammocks and stuff sacks it seems to work pretty good for me so I'm sticking with it
Righto~~!
Far out... I never wanted to bring this topic up, but I was wondering when we were going to have the hammock bag discussion... I knew it was coming, I didn't want anyone to get all hung up on it.. So here we are... & a fine hammock discussion it was... not that I'm against a good hammock discussion... We all need to have one sooner or later...😮...
It had to be had sometime. Later than sooner.
I do like the longer thinner profile for packing reasons.
Squishability rules the day!
That’s what she said.
I do love my hammocks.. even if I did fall out of one and hurt my arm. I had see it up wrong and the strap broke. Oops. Thanks for the video. Nice to hear a little bass as well.
I've done the same. I hold no hammock grudge.
I don't either @@shugemery

Glad you showed this now I can kinda evaluate my own built jungle hammock.
Width 6 3/4"
Length 13 1/2"
Weight 1 lb 15.2 oz
I origanly built as a 11.5 foot but I think I missed my chanel allowence and ended up 11 2". Lol
Its double lined with bugnet and woopie slings and UCR ridgeline. With a ridgeline organizer and 4 zingit tyeouts with shock cord. Double ended stuff sac. The tye outs help keep bugnet pullout yet actualy realy havnt used them much tje bugnet hasnt realy given any issue without so now I know where to shed some weight.
Building your own really gives insight to the hammock. Whooooo Buddy)))))
Thank you for making this video I've actually been thinking about getting a new hammock that has more squishability I currently have a Lawson hammock which doesn't really squish and is quite big which is a bit of a problem, I'm planning a trip to Isle Royale and want to dial in my gear as best as possible and I want to take my rockagator 90 liter dry bag backpack because of the inclement weather that can happen there I can get my Lawson to fit I've done it before as I only had the rockagator backpack before I bought my kelty 105 liter backpack but!! The kelty has straps so I just tied my hammock to the outside of the bag on my trip to Kentucky this past spring anyways enough rambling just been trying to figure out how to make more physical room in my bag for things like food Lol
I started with a Lawson so I get ya'. That good food does take up some space.
very squishable video Shug. I love seeing these compared in one video, helps with the visuals. by the way, since you are bit with the "bass bug" you got to try the "beatle bass" light weight, very nice tone, but the weight factor is what I like so much. easy on my back.
You're talking Hoffner violin bass right? I need to try one out someday.
yep - though many knockoffs are available that do alright. not sure if Guitar Center in the twin cities area had one last time I was there or not. probably a knockoff as the originals are quite spendy
All clear in Sector MilliMeter! ;-)
Sector Centipede secure. Well played.
Great info as usual Shug. However.
You literally squished my HEART when you didn’t show the Warbonnet Blackbird XLT. : - (
I gave it away to a friend in need of a hammock. I'll get another but a single layer rather than double layer. I find single more comfortable.
Hey there sir! Hope you and yours are feeling ok. Good to see you doing well. Just wondering how you keep your boots from freezing during those deep winter trips. Thank you sir. Take care and be well. NQU
They do freeze. I just spread them as open as I can before crawling in for the night and cram my foot in the next morning. Even my mukluks freeze up a bit.
@@shugemery oh my gosh Shug!! You Minnesotans are a hardy bunch!! Do you ever hear of anyone putting boots in a dry bag and then in the quilt with them? Sounds bloody miserable but seems better than blocks of ice for boots😁😂
@@notquiteultralight1701 I've heard tell of that but I don't want cold wet frozen boots interrupting my good slumber. I'd rather deal with them in the morning. Once you have your foot in it seems to warm up quick enough with walking around camp doing morning chores.
