Hi Guys. Lovely drawing of Charlie. Paul you have to be patient with eye surgery and healing. Eyes take a while to heal. When I had eye surgery, I had double vision for months before it went back to normal. And a red eye for 18 months, so I wore shades even in the nightclub 😂. Once it heals you will feel much better. Look after yourself. 👍❤️👍

Sorry this week been abit testing, what with Anthony's van playing up, Paul's eye making him anxious, what with unable to do his beautiful artwork, and Dexter not feeling quite himself. If that's not enough having to say goodbye to your lovely friends. You've certainly been through it, we felt so sorry for you both,let's hope things improve.

When I get my injections the first evening is quite painful, second day gets a bit better and third day starts to feel much better. Poor Dexter, the weather swings of spring are really hard on my arthritis and it’s when the barometric pressure is changing that it’s worse, usual starts getting worse a day or so before a storm. I wonder if it’s the same for Dexter?
The drawing of Charlie is great Paul🤩, hope your eye is much better now and that Anthony is over the cold🤞. We’ve had a week of sunny dry weather, we often get that, a big tease and we’re getting the garden furniture out, digging out the flower beds, planting and then…….its awful till late June. Brr cold and overcast but not so much rainy. Who knows what this year will bring though, they are predicting about 13 named storms / hurricanes this season so we might just blow across the Atlantic to your shore😂.

Hey Dawn. You can definitely see Dexter slowing. The injections help but he is now losing muscle mass. He does get stiffer in colder weather.
Paul’s eye is slowly improving. Pleased to say my cold has gone completely. We have had a mixed bag of weather like you. It has rained a lot over the weekend.

I hope Paul’s eye gets better soon. He has no idea what caused it. People over 50 with short sightedness are more prone.
We loved travelling with Tony and Karen and it definitely was lovely seeing all the things we have done.
I was freezing lol. The stuff from the generator is actually steam. If you look closely the “smoke” is white. It is a raw water cooled generator and the byproduct is steam.
We can turn on its axis. It has been really useful.
Loved the picture of Charly too.
The engine bay was spotless.
We have some amazing friends and the canal community is second to none.

Slow down!!!!! Give your eye the time to heal Paul. I had eye surgery 5 years ago, and you’re right, you can’t do some things. I can’t image editing is easy with one eye. Please wear glasses outside for sun protection as well as dust. Enough badgering….your dog portrait was gorgeous! You have made good friends over the years and even though they go their separate ways, those connections remain. Hope you are feeling better Anthony. And Dexter too.

I really enjoyed this episode! It's always sad to say goodbye to friends you've been spending a lot of time with. And try not to worry too much about your eye Paul, it'll be better soon...although it must be frustrating and disconcerting. People will understand if you need to take a bit of a break to heal. When I have eye problems of various sorts, I always find that wearing glasses give great comfort because 1) they stop the breeze/wind which can irritate eye ever so slightly esp since your lifestyle is outside and 2) tinted glasses, even slight tint which usable inside, can reduce glare that can irritate eye. So if these are not contraindicated by your condition, buy cheap glasses and give it a try. Good luck

Hello Paul, Anthony & Dexter. It's been a while since I've commented. I just turned 74 this year and have been super busy this past year. I've sold my Condo, downsized, and moved back onto the farm where I was born and raised. I remodeled my 24x24 cottage and I'm loving every minute of living back amongst nature. No more noise and busy city streets just 200 acres of peace and quiet. Love the New Boat.

Hey guys. It was wrenching saying goodbye but we have made some incredible memories. Paul’s eye is slowly improving. Dexter has been to the vets and has lost a lot of weight and isn’t eating properly. He has had bloods taken but will be a few days to check if there is anything underlying. It breaks my heart to see him slowing down. Hope you guys are keeping well. ❤️

Yet another lovely vlog, I don’t know how you guys manage to make them week after week! Paul take your time with your eye. I had surgery about two years ago. My right eye almost went blind. My retina tore almost completely. It took several hours to reattach. The surgery was touch and go. The eye is filled with silicone. It will remain filed with silicone for a few more years. The concern is if the silicone is removed the retina will separate again. I am able to see through the eye. Can’t read nor see clearly. The healing takes time. My surgeon continues to be positive with my progress. It will not be 100%. The eye is getting better each month. I was able to get new glasses to see better. The glasses help.

Thanks again Guys for our Appley Bridge fix. My wife’s sister and husband used to live on Back Lane for many years and when we visited ‘home’ our kids enjoyed walking down to the Post Office to buy sweets and along the canal. I prefer early morning cruising, often the best part of the day plus quiet. 7 months with Karen and Tony is a long time, maybe you'll catch up at Crick. Dexter still has a great quality of life, although somedays a bit of a worry. Hope to see you on Sunday at Crick, enjoy your time there catching up with friends and supporters xxx

Having grown up in Upholland, walks up and down the canal from Appley Bridge to Parbold were a part f life for me and a friend. Haven't made it to the homeland from my new home in Pennsylvania since before CV. Starting to miss that part and in particular my visits to the Lakes. I know that Post Office you were at well. I think the pub on the other side of the road is the Wheatsheaf? Used to buy clothes at the garden center close to there also on the road that heads up to the M6. They also are a good place for a breakfast or a coffee and cake. I have the same problem with my 16 year old cat. She eats, then throws up. Now she doesn't want to eat. Time for an expensive trip to the vet. Good luck with your eye recovery.
Hey Phil. We loved our time in Appley Bridge. It is a beautiful part of the country. You should definitely make the trip to visit the area again. I think you are right re the pub. We have never been to the garden centre. Maybe we should make a trip on the way back. That is the problem when our pets get older. He had been today and had bloods and his labrella injection.

If I ever come back to earth as a dog I hope I'm yours. I have six rescues left as I did have nine . 3 have had the very worst of life in Romania. One spent 14 years in a 2 mtr cage on wet concrete. He has been with me warm as toast on the sofa. He loves being on the soft grass. He has survived over 3 years with good food and love . Still eating and drinking . So life is good. We are buying a boat hopefully soon . I love you two and Dexter. Take care Angi x

Stunning scenery along the canal there. I think you were quite close to Martin Mere and it’s a lovely place to visit. I hope your eye gets better quickly Paul.. you will just have to take it easy. Hope Dexter’s injection helps. My daughter’s cat bit the vet last time she had her arthritis injection. It’s no good saying it’s all for your own good!
Thanks Marilyn. We were close to Martin Mere. We have been there with our parents and it is a great place to visit. Paul‘s eye is slowly improving thank you. The injections are helping but he is starting to lose muscle now bless him. As they gets older they don’t understand that these injections are for their good, but it’s all you can do for them.

Just a thought, why don’t you get a T Junction on your water hose. Making it so you can connect to two separate taps at once and fill up a bit quicker, or get another hose, and stick both ends in the tank.
