  • Tackling big problems, like environmental crises we face today, can be discouraging. Doug talks about how starting small can eventually achieve huge impacts. He touches on his personal experience helping to build a non-profit organization, Keep Hanoi Clean, that is tackling air, land, and water pollution in Hanoi, Vietnam. Douglas Snyder is a lifelong environmentalist. Like all children he was fascinated with nature, and he followed this passion to get his environmental science bachelor degree at university and eventually work in sustainable development and green building. He currently is deputy director of sustainable design at ARDOR Green, a Vietnamese green building consulting firm. Doug also enjoys teaching and has lectured in business management at the National University of Vietnam since 2012. In the non-profit sphere, he serves as director of Keep Hanoi Clean, an entrepreneurial volunteer effort that aims to improve Hanoi’s land, air, and water quality through grassroots work and partnering with like-minded organizations and the government. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
