Yes, you could say Naomi is being "negative", but most of those outfits were indeed dreadful.
Someone said "but Naomi isn't a designer", but she has worked for 30+ years with the absolute best, so I think she knows a thing or two about garments.

You should watch the whole show and you'll she that she's very passionate about the contestants and fights for the one's she likes. She is a believer in tough love I think and that's not always bad.
they deliberate hire people with little talent for such shows. Its about the Drama! And Naomi is clearly the star of the show and she blends well with Heidi. They can give nicole ritchie some cab fare

Naomi elevated this show - I don't think I would watch if she wasn't in it. She brings relevant critique with personality.
Plus she's an absolute icon.
She was BY FAR the best part of the show. Intelligent, Sharp, Iconic. Honestly one of the best judges I have seen in these type of shows.
I think the years have made her a little softer. I mean, she was direct and honest but she was way more savage in " The face" days.

I think because the face is about modeling which her profession, this show is about designing which makes her kinda soft because she is not an expert in designing, which makes her don't want to say the wrong thing

Watching Naomi on reality shows .... I really wish she took advantage during the 2000s ... she would’ve been the queen of reality and had the best modeling show .... cause her critiques maybe sometimes harsh but incredibly accurate
It's alright because look at Tyra now with problematic ANTM moments that were alright back then but in today's culture did not age well.

Reality tv was in its infancy then. Pioneers like Whitney, Anna Nicole etc were ridiculed for even doing reality tv. Its changed quite a bit in 15-20 years

Naomi have no place for judging the high-end fashion designer like gucci etc. The difference is "high fashion" designers doesnt design for the mass. They may make 1000 of the runway dresses and even sell it. Quirky or not, they can sell it for tens of thousands $$ bcs they have their customers. For those new tailors or venturing into fashion designers, of course they should think of the masses. Customers from low-end to high-end, and should be critique. 🙏

Naomi is the BEST. She is the only one worth watching...all her points were SPOT ON! In the first few episodes, all the designers sucked and one could not help but wonder how they had been selected at all.

Naomi is a 100000% correct on everything. She’s giving them honest feedback based on 30+years experience at the very top of the fashion industry. Being diplomatic won’t help them in the real world where customers are harsher behind their computers shopping online especially now!
With my fam, Gen Z, being literal savages and would not be afraid to call out the designers no matter the brand, luxury or not. It’s a scary place. Like bruh, the backlashes and cancel culture could get you bankrupt in a snap of a finger.

I wish there were more fashion related shows with actual designers critiquing designs instead of models. Im not saying models dont have the right to do so, they’ve worn the clothes made by such designers. However, seeing actual fashion designers/tailors critique based on knowledge how things are made, i feel would be more educational as well as entertaining.

I’m so glad they are back. Love, love, love THE CUT. THE NEW FORMAT IS AWESOME. Love that we get “glimpses” of Tim and Heidi’s personalities and that they “take” us around the city. Really loved it.
For me, NAOMI took the first season. We 4GET that she is a LIVING legend. An ICON. But the GR8 thing was how KNOWLEDGEABLE she is about the industry. Well spoken. An authority on FASHION, Modeling.

What Naomi say is something from the real world. I have a boss and say exactly the same thing. Probably even more assertive, where he will putting more irrelevant stuff to it, like what you eat, how it effect your brain... does your brain cells working properly so you can execute tasks efficiently...etc. For a designer, no matter what field it is... it is consider waste of time, explaining to junior designer, you just want to state the task really simple and clear. Professionalism is the key point. For couple of weeks they would be heartache but you just get along with it. When you become senior designer, you'd do the same to the younger one. It's a neverending cycles. You can avoid all these, IF you're creating your own brand...so you can control the way it being play on entirety. But when you're working with another supervisions, it is a sacrifice you ought to make. You have to sacrifice your ego. There's no other way to deal with it. Maybe you can change job, but you'd waste your talent. The "idea when you design" something is so that it can be selling fast, mass produce and cost-effective.... there is a lot of thinking and not everyone can do that. What's worst, if you taken a wrong design, and put it on pedestal, the company would ruin and paving the ways of going bankrupt. It is not a hobby like many people commonly thinking. It is business, so work politic is part of game.
Some designers are lucky as the boss is always on the same page by their side but that's not a popular situation. You're considered lucky if you encounter one
Her critiques are direct which i think were very much needed by these designers. She's helping them to grow. Her words may be harsh to some but they are constructive criticisms.

Naomi always gets the best outfit in runways, so it’s only natural that she have the education of the best material, technic, how the outfit flows with ur body, etc.
When I watched the actual show, I thought Naomi wasn't harsh at all. It was all constructive criticism, and she gives praise and recognition when it is due - makes you think how supercuts and edits could make a huge difference.
At last Nicole Ricci comments on the latest garment and I love it when Naomi says "NEXT"🤭👌🏻

If these outfits were presented in a closed door situation at a major fashion company, MUCH WORSE would've been said to the faces of these designers. In reality, Naomi is being rather kind and generous. Think about that if you want to be a fashion designer!
