  • Ok, probably not the Vlog you would expect after we`ve just hit the road. But sometimes, life has something completely different planned for you. The first two weeks on the road have been a constant up & down of our emotions. First of all because adjusting to Vanlife takes a little while, but mostly because we couldn`t really see much because we were so much more restricted with our beautiful dog than expected. It makes us unbelievably sad but we took the decision to bring Beanie back to Cahils parents.
    Next Monday we will be hitting the road again & we plan to get more content and make more Videos for you guys! So definitely stay tuned for our up and coming videos.
    If you have any questions or feedback for us, make sure to leave them in the comment section below and give us a thumbs up and subscribe if you liked the video.
    Also make sure to follow us on our social media accounts for daily updates! On Cahils Instagram you will find a lot of our Landcruiser build aswell:
    - stray.nomads : / stray.nomads
    - cahilparkes : / cahilparkes
    - martinaparkes : / martinaparkes
    See you in our next video!
    Music is from Epidemic Sounds:

    Not to shit on your parade.. but owning a dog requires complete commitment. Traveling with a dog means.. you won't be able to do everything you want to do. Yes, National Parks won't allow dogs so at the start of your trip you already knew that. Traveling with your dog also means not being able to leave your dog in your vehicle for long and for summer not at all. You also knew that. I have 2 dogs that I take camping with me. My time with them means more to me than missing out on National Parks.. than the inconveniences of having the dogs along in the trip.. than all the restrictions. Commitment is commitment.. whether with humans or with animals.. it's the same. Your dog is your baby.. like a human baby.. like your family. Your pet gives you unconditional love and loyalty.. they give us more than what we give them. So the sacrifices we have to make for them is not much in the grand scheme of things.

    I have just started watching your series and I am impressed on your dedication into coming over from Switzerland and then embarking on a trip of a lifetime around Australia. Hard decision with Beani but the right one for you, and thats what this trip is about it's for you. Keep going and I hope we cross paths with you.

    I want to thank you for this video.i was in two thoughts about taking my Boarder collie Panda around Australia.i have done the cape before and after seeing this have to concede that it will just be too hard.thank you and like you will do the small trips with him after doing Australia.We love these dogs and that is how all owners should feel.

      Happy to hear we could help you out with making up your mind. It is such a hard decision and definitely different for everyone. But most important is that the dog is happy and the owner feels good with his decision 👏🏽

    I’ve just stumbled across your video and i dont know your earlier story, as i have yet to go back to view your earlier videos. However, from what I’ve seen in just this video, you have no need to apologise to anyone for making the tough decision you have made. Everyone’s circumstances are different and you made the right choice for you. Guys, even just on this one video, you have a new subscriber. I feel your sadness re your dog, I’ve been there myself.

      Hi Greg, Thanks so much for your message. We are starting to feel better about our decision everyday. We leave again today and we know our boy is at a good home here whilst we travel. Like you said, you know the feeling yourself. Thanks so much much for joining along our journey we really appreciate it.

    I guess even as hard as it was to make this decision, it's the very right one. To travel Australia with all the restrictions for Beanie would have been for none of you three a lot of fun. Beanie will looking forward to see all your videos to see your adventures and so do I.

    It is very sad up can't take Benny with you. We are setting of for a 4 month trip in a few days with our dog. He is a large house dog (greyhound) and has done all of our shorter trips so far. National Parks will be a problem that we are prepared to forego (unfortunately). It all depends on your dog and what your expectations are.

    • @straynomads3005
      @straynomads3005  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s very true. Absolutely doable and enjoyable with a dog! Just depends on your expectations just as you said. I‘m sure you will have an amazing time 😍 Enjoy and have fun!

    It must have been a very hard decision. We have/had two dogs with us and you are restricted for sure and having a larger dog seems to make it even harder. Some caravan parks won't even let dogs in if they are over 20kg. U
    unfortunately we had to put our beautiful girl to sleep after she attacked a puppy that was running around loose. She broke her chain, I feel terrible for the owner, we raced it to a vet but they ended up putting it to sleep.

    • @straynomads3005
      @straynomads3005  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It definitely was very hard for us to take this decision! But as you said, it is just very restrictive and yes, to have such a big dog makes it a little bit harder aswell 😥
      So sad to hear you`ve had to put your beautiful girl down! It must have broken your heart! 😪
