Thanks for interviewing me! This was a great opportunity for me to share these episodes with others, as I have never done so before. 😌 Cheers to Rinny for making such a thoughtful video! 🥂
This is the most a History of Rhythm Game Artists episode has ever made me feel like the story of one person rising to greatness from nothing was being told, even though they're all like that. It's got everything (most of) the other ones have, like humble beginnings filled with joy, getting serious about music, a daunting task to conquer (being first place in a BMS tournament), the conquering of said task, and not to mention the friends made along the way. It's almost like a hero's journey, which many people are familiar with, but this felt emotional. As someone with not a lot of memorized songs from a variety of rhythm game artists, Silentroom has my attention more than most of them, and even though I haven't listened to much of his music, ever since Aegleseeker I've held his compositions high in fondness(the only three I knew at the time were Nulctrl, Untrodden Morn, and Aegleseeker). So that means this was an episode I was most excited for, since out of every other episode, I only know this little about Silentroom, as opposed to knowing either nothing or a lot (but not everything) about the others. Thanks Rinny, and thank you too Silentroom! I'm definitely gonna finish listening to In My Heart before the end of the month.
Hearing Aegleseeker "Afterworld" At the end really feels like the best fit for it. It's such an emotional, almost tearful song, it's my absolute favorite of his work (Collabing with one of my favorite composers Too, Frums!).
When I heard Nhelv, I knew that the guy behind Silentroom is massively talented. The sound design is out of this world, it reminds me of Noisia. It is a monumental track that would stand a test of time, and will be remembered for many years. Totally deserves its place at #1 of the BOF2017 ranking. This makes me want to dig down to Silentroom / Polycube's productions prior to Nhelv, his Art Dubstep tracks are intriguing. Great video as always!!
i have just realized how similar silentroom's story is to mine. I've been passionate about music and video games since a very young age, i've always been attracted by the soundtracks of games that I played and, at about 12, started making music in garageband. And now, 4 years later, im more passionate than ever for making music.
You're truly the goat of rythm game youtube creators. Although we all wish you had a much, much larger audience, make sure to never stop creating videos- I'll always be there to watch them! Amazing video as usual.
You have to be the most criminally under rated youtuber I watch, all of your videos have so much time and quality put into them I cant wait to see your next one. And thanks for introducing me to Silentroom, I have no idea how I hadn't come across them before so they are defintaly going into my playlists
I have never more thoroughly enjoyed, been inspired by, and followed to this extent, any video on the entire platform. Silentroom was already my favorite artist, but this video pushed my enjoyment of him above and beyond. I cannot express enough how criminally underrated you and this video are, and I just want to thank you for making this. I sat down and watched it in what felt like 10 minutes, and after realized how long I'd been here for. Oh yeah and if you're wondering my favorite, the Aegleseeker extension has been my favorite song since the first time I heard it :)
It's videos like these that made me appreciates the artist's works even more by listening to their other lesser known works. Love the vid, keep it up, can't wait for more hrga
Thanks for making this video, his works are always unique in some way especially f1055 and x7124 which sounds very uniwue to me. Your videos helps digging through more of the artists history and make us appreciates them more, cheers!
What an excellent video! I've listened to Silentroom many times, but I never knew about the history of his career. I love Silentroom's music, his songs like Aegelseeker, Rainshower or Nhelv transport you to another world with their impressive and otherworldly atmosphere, whereas tracks like NULCTRL, Red and Blue or GLITCH SWITCH hype you up like nothing else. I remember hearing Silentroom's music for the first time during G2R2018 when I listened to NULCTRL. I replayed that song so many times... I don't think I stopped the song 'til the club went silent ;) Anyways, this video is so well made and thorough, it really stirred up my emotions towards the end. Hearing about people persevering, succeeding and reaching their dreams is so heartwarming.
Words can't describe how happy I am to see my favourite artist be covered by none other than you! Watched the entire video with a grin from ear to ear. I rarely comment on videos but I can't help but admire the amount of research and depth you put into your videos. Good shit, man.
46:35 not just one of the greatest artists to touch rhythm games, but one of the best artists to touch the earth in general! Before even knowing his story I could just tell how much raw emotion and talent he put into his music, it's truly something that can't be replicated and I feel like he is a musical genius! Silentroom is my and always will be my favorite composer in the history of rhythm games and the world.
I hear Nhelv for the first time when I see someone mention the name of the track in a Discord server about a platforming Roblox game with really fast paced gameplay. And I'm just in love with his music ever since
Guh i was asleep so i couldn't be here frame 1 💀. You already know I'm addicted to the sauce, and it's always fun to see how far we've come. This script's huge innit? You did a good job pacing yourself briskly without sounding like you were rushing at all. It's also nice to hear your personal opinions as we go through history, like your fav track off an album or you liking genre shuffle's format. Lastly i loved the timing of background music to your speech. Specifically, matching the end of your sentence to the end of a musical phrase. Super tiny details like that enhance your cadence and give a strong subliminal satisfaction. You did call by boi lapix "la-picks" instead of "la-peace" tho lol
FUCK I forgor it's Lapeace 💀 but yeah, you know I had to go all out on the production for this haha. Not to mention a lot of my opinions/humour ends up in here by accident (had no idea how much there was until I watched it back lmao). Hope you enjoyed Eris, thanks for tuning in as always
why did I cry at the end of this :') so heart warming and the way silentroom words his feelings towards his works is beautiful and really made me appreciate life itself. ty Rinny
I don't even play rhythm games or have any idea who/what any of the people/songs mentioned in this video are, but this *still* kept my attention the whole way through.
Definitely one of my favorite youtubers to watch atm, over the last few years I've gained a love for rhythm game music stuff and it's so cool seeing the history of a lot of artists because I know only a few so seeing legends and their path through the rhythm game world is so interesting to me!
YES, I WAS WAITING FOR THIS! silentroom is definitely one of my most favourite rhythm game artists besides laur, so i was so curious about his backstory that led up to what he is nowadays
i love these videos!! i’ve been super interesting in rhythm game artists lately so this is like brain candy ^^ just a suggestion, but a video on EBIMAYO would be pretty cool !!
...wow. the production value on this one is otherworldly, at the very least. there aren't any words that can accurately describe this experience - just saying "phenomenal" or "incredible" doesn't cut it. you already are a great and very entertaining content creator by default, but this is taking it to the next level. thank you for the experience, RinnyTheGigachad. as for silentroom, didn't know he is currently on a hiatus :c his music has changed a lot the way i see things, but i respect his decision of distancing himself a bit to give more time for himself, and encourage him to find passion and love for other projects and skills as much as he did with music. silentroom, if you are reading this, thank you so much for your hard work.
Amazing video! Silentroom has been among my top fiive since I discovered him with Alt Futur. For the next HORGA, maybe do one on the label Hardcore Tano*C, to me they are the label that is the sound of rhythm games and they are recognised to the point where rhythm game companies sell their OSTs on their store. I wonder how they got there…
I have watched all of your series, and by far this has to be the best one! Not only because of it being Silentroom, and the amount of thought put into it, but on how this is dedicated to a producer who has just left us for a year or two.
This video is so good my dude. Next I would like to see video about Ryu an really underrated artist mostly known for his trance songs in Beatmania IIDX
absolutely amazing video as always! do you think you can do a video on II-L? I've listened to their music for a while and their rhythms are really insane.
This is really an amazing video.. I've been a huge fan of Silentroom's music for years, and it's so inspiring to see his journey and perspectives on music, especially with how strongly I feel about a lot of it..
I'd love to see what you can find out about Maozon. He's had multiple Beatmania IIDX songs on the past 7 or so volumes (excluding IIDX29: CastHour for whatever reason). I'd be interested to know why there was no music in CastHour specifically, but could guess it's from being so busy outside of rhythm gaming, seeing that this artist has released 3 non-bemani albums since 2020, each better than the last.
brilliant video, nice to see one of the rhythm game legends being paid homage! hey, could you do a video on chroma? i think he's quite criminally underrated imo, listening to most of his stuff and it's quite incredible, to say the least
Very good video. Also gives me a bit summoning salt vibes, and i mean that in a positive way. Also very nice to hear about Silentrooms journey so far! ;)
i love silentroom. Amazing video once again rinny! The quality of your videos keeps getting better and better... Any plans on covering Feryquitous in the future? She is my personal favourite
where it's frums, that's come with the silentroom. thanks for make this happen. it always great to see the history from my favorite rhythm game artsit such as silentroom itself n.b why i remember madeon after this? lol
