We have collated interesting facts about each bird along with their calls. This will help the kids to learn interesting animal facts.
Birds of prey (also called raptors) are birds that mainly use their claws (called talons) to seize prey. Some common ones include eagles, falcons, hawks, ospreys, owls, buzzards, and vultures. Birds of prey are found all over the world.
Birds of prey eat a great variety of animals. Some kinds eat other birds. Some eat insects, fish, rodents, snakes, frogs, or other animals. A few kinds look for animals that are already dead to eat. Vultures, for instance, hardly ever hunt live animals.
Here are some amazing facts about these elite birds:
    1. The bald eagle with it's superior strength, sharp vision, and powerful talons for gripping the slipperiest of fish.
    2. The peregrine falcon with its jaw-dropping speed which can drop a bird in midair falling down to earth.
    3. The hawk with its wide ranging flight and relentless fury while chasing prey.
    4. The owl with its nocturnal vision, which allows to see it in the dark, and its silent approach of prey.
    5. Turkey vultures have an extraordinary sense of smell. They have been known to be able to smell carrion from over a mile away, which is very unique in the bird world. The turkey vulture has the largest olfactory (smelling) system of all birds.
