I wasn’t a alcoholic but I was bad on opiate pills and I’ve been clean for over 5 yrs u have to want better for yourself put god in ur life if u don’t yet he will guide u
I gotta tell ya man, I’m 32 years old and I’ve struggled with addiction and alcoholism my either teenage and adult life. My mom passed in a car accident in 2011 and this song really hits my soul.. I’m 5 years clean and sober now and every time I hear this song it gives me chills.. I truly appreciate the lyrics, it’s a nice reminder. Sometimes we forget where we’ve been in our lives after things have been smooth for so long.

I've been struggling to get clean and as soon as I heard this song I flushed everything I'm now three days clean and I play this song about 1000 times a day it really has give me the power to know I can beat addiction
ADDICTION is a disease not a choice that any mother or father makes for themselves or the children that have no say so in the matter. We lose control because we have a brain disease that makes the impulse almost impossible to resist. I find it hard to maintain long term recovery if u truly are an addict then I dont see how u stay so sober and clean for several years I have found it impossible using all the proper given tools w the program and treatment goin by the book it fails alot of us
What matters is that we slip and find our way back . It's one day at a time forever

In many ways this song saved me, in my darkest days of addiction and sobriety, I played it in repeat as loud as the speakers could handle, it took a while for me to realize I was crying out to myself and God to help me, and when I realized that everything became clearer , I'm currently almost 4 years sober now, I don't even know if you will see this but I just want to say from my whole heart Thank You!

Alcohol had such a hard hold on my life, I never viewed myself as an alcoholic because I would go days in between drinking, until it took over my life and the best thing I done was give it up and give my life to God, it wasn’t easy, and it’s not the road most 25 year olds around me are going down. But the bottle never filled the emptiness that I was desperately looking to fill. I’m so thankful God gave me the strength and came down and saved me from myself. It’s been hard, but almost one year sober ❤💜

Sobriety is never owned. It's rented and rent is due every day! Going on 4 years sober this august. Couldn't have done it without my mama. Thanks to her she helped save my life and led me to be the best mommy I can be to my little boy.

Some people say traditional country music has disappeared. I think the genre sounds amazing and looks very promising. Artist like you, Luke Combs, Sturgill Simpson, and Chris Stapleton as a solo recording artist for the 1st time are just leading the way for the genre to come full circle and back to it's roots. Prayers for my brother. He finally took the step to rehab. I found this song from him getting drunk all the time and blearing this. Everytime I hear it makes me tear up. Watching his struggle. And not being able to do anything. I just pray this time he gives it up for good.

I'd walk the street just talking to people even while drowning in my own addiction to help them with saving their soul . I have a guitar hanging on my dads wall and won't touch it due to my own addiction , by learning that this guy is out their saying everything I ever wanted to say to help others in there dark days brought my mind to think ... seek rehab and do it now ! I am currently in rehab as I type this message . I hear that Voice within me ..., pick up that guitar and step up to the plate..., saving your soul
is saving it on your own in a sense but , seek the higher power as the word tells us . I will take that rusty guitar stringed thing down off that wall and reach out just as Jacob has reached out to me with his songs . My heart is set on this , never give up

I use to be an addict. I have 6 years clean. Its hard to do at first and the first 2 years it is a struggle everyday to stay clean but you can do it. After you hit year 3 you do not even think about it anymore and it is a breeze.

@Kimberly Baldeser keep on keeping on. It is hard sometimes I know. Also congrats on getting clean. Life will be rough sometimes but you just have to push through the rough times. After you get to year 3 it will not even cross your mind even in the hard times. I believe in you but you have to believe in youself too.

With God all things are possible. Have to walk away from the familiar places and let God get into those places that are hidden. I myself have been sober going 3 months now and I couldn't do it without God. I've had to really dig my heels deep lean on God read my bible and pray . it sometimes can get tough the fight comes on stronger but that tells me I'm doing good and I am to keep it up.. I have no support I don't have nobody behind me rooting me on its Just me n God he's my cheerleader he's my friend he's what is helping me counting my days of progress .. I just felt to share some of my testimony we all have a story to be heard and hearing this song half way through just felt to open it.. My son sent this to me and he is an addict. Ever since my dad passed hes been lost my parents were like parents to him and without them he feels lost. I knew when he died my son would lose it but I never knew what it was going to be this bad. He checked out and all we can do is pray that he checks back in before he overdoses and he can't be helped

Im 36 now. Opiates/Heroin took from 20-30 from me, 6 rehabs, $200-$300 a day just to get up. Been sober 6 years. And sh$t its great. But its always that devil u gotta fight on your shoulder. Best thing i did was move away from where i was from. And never want that life. So anyone struggling. It is the worst ever i kno believe me, but if u got fight and some wanna do good in you. Go through it.

This song helped me out so much in a horrible time in my life. Found out my son of 2 years wasn’t actually mine after a DNA test. Didnt know where to turn but this amazing woman I have now was right by my side if I didn’t have her I would have been down a horrible road
I like this dude. the first time I ever heard him was when he got married and sang for his wife. it was good he sang "I do" and from then he has progressed finding his vocals and finding his sound more and more to finding himself into the music world. Like he's not singing on the style of anyone anymore he's fabricating lyrics and vocals in his own way. I think he is good. he stays in key, he knows how to get people to keep listening, and he makes good decisions vocally while singing. if someone that had just a decent label for him, I think he'd be on stations tomorrow.
