Same thing happened to me with my relationship of 4 years. He left me in 2013 for another girl he met at work. Around the end of September 2015 he came crawling back. Then he passed away October 2015 from a car accident. I still love him with every part of me and miss him so much.

He took it as he wasnt enough. Although he always was. But come to find out that he just realized he has feelings for his high school bestfriend but she's in a relationship right now. So now he's waiting to see what happens there. This is all so recent for me. And before I knew he felt something for her, I was willing to wait for him and he knew that. So idk when to let go but I'll do that on my own time i suppose. And we still both love each other very much. We just grew apart for whatever the hell reason, at this moment.

Letting Go is hard. Loving without attachment is one of the most difficult thing for people to do. I'm still trying to understand my feelings surrounding my marriage that fell apart and the divorce my children and I didn't want. But that's what he wanted and I have to respect that. Tough times.

So, I realize it's not the original intention for the song but that Marlboro light and whiskey line hits the mark for kicking bad habits. "you turn me into a man I don't even recognize" is a good line for someone that tries to quit a bad habit and your mind tries pulling you back into it. We often build relationships with our bad habits and we think we need them to survive, much like trying to forget the love of your life. I quit smoking and drinking prior to finding this song recently. Now, I use the song to say goodbye to other bad habits :P Nicotine patches, procrastination, anxiety etc. My body thanks you Mr. Marlowe.
