Can we appreciate the photography here? Both characters have attention drawn to them through sub-framing. Great example of using what you have in simple environments/backgrounds.

@@blarbkanopcious4243 Sub-framing is a composition term for when you use an element that already exists within the image to frame the subject. Not only does it draw the viewers attention to the correct part of the larger frame, it also adds depth and texture to an image that might feel flat otherwise.
In this case, the first Julie's face was framed by the window, and the second Julie was framed by the lines on the door behind her.
The extra tricky thing I just learned is that she also airs these skits on mobile-oriented sites that use portrait mode. So each shot has to work in two entirely different frames!
It's so meta how writer Julie gets the subtleties of joke telling, editor Julie gets the subtleties of joke telling, laptop Julie gets the subtleties of joke telling, while joke telling Julie is... well... just ...kidding? Around?

Sometimes I just think about Julie hanging out at home she has her cameras on and she’s just talking to the walls, arguing with hanging pictures and best of all In a bathrobe with a glass of wine *possibly pretending* to be drunk. You are doing really well and I hope you keep rocking on.

I'm still flabbergasted at the sound and editing that makes me believe Julie has a twin in the room with her. That muffin paper overlapped bad comedian Julie flawlessly. 👌

I wrote and performed amateur stand-up for a year and a half. I wince thinking about my desperate awkwardness and of the others who kept at it week after week.

i didn't get the theme of this until the middle, and I agree. There's some "comedians" out there that say super offensive, edgy, blatantly rude stuff that's not even funny and say they were "just kidding", "it's a joke", or "you're just sensitive". saying offensive shit for the sake of saying offensive shit isn't comedy, it's just saying stupid shit. if you're saying sensitive stuff in a subtle, artful, comedic, well-written way (like key and peele), then it's funny. but if you're just saying that stuff and using comedy as a guise or vehicle for spewing hateful things then it's just dumb.

A lot of comedians do do that for shock purposes usually they’re not great but when Julie did it her timing/editing was so good it was pretty funny
