- The Empress Market in Karachi is one of the oldest markets and super interesting. After my visit a random man started following me i could see later in the footage that he didn't have good intentions. Also the Boy who touched me can be seen at 16:05 min behind the man following me.
AGAIN: the wrong behaviour of a single man doesn't define a whole nation!!! I still feel very comfortable here in my "third home Pakistan".

I am from Karachi. As a woman, I’ve been to Saddar many times with my father. I never went there alone. It’s good to have someone native with you when you go to such public areas. Other modern areas are safe otherwise. I am really sorry that you had to face such inappropriate behaviour from the man and child. Next time you feel that something is off go to any nearby shop and complain and leave the rest. Our general public is very respectful of women and they will give such creeps a good lesson.

First of all, I applaud you for your bravery and standing up for yourself. Secondly, I’ll suggest you to search the dos and don’ts prior to visit any area anywhere in the world or take suggestions from the locals. As all around the world there are some areas in each city and country which are not safe and you’ve to be extra conscious, like the area you visited in Karachi is not the safe one to travel alone. Otherwise, if you visit Clifton, DHA, Gulshan, Tariq Rd, etc. you'll find them quite safe and nice

Unfortunately this does not only happen in Asia. I live in Europe and one day my sister was waiting for the bus when a guy approached her and wanted to "small-talk". When she told him to leave her alone politely he started getting angry and cussing her out. She was also followed another time when she was on the phone with my mom! There's creeps all over the world! No normal sane person acts like this!
Nope. It happens a lot more in Asia. Of course there are bad people everywhere, but a woman doesn't need a chaperone every where she goes, in the west. In Pakistan, she does. There are certain bazaars in pakistani cities, with so many creepy men, that u just can't walk there comfortably unless u have a male relative with u.

When I used to go uni in lahore, we went home by uni bus. I v clearly remember a small boy, seemed maybe 8 or 9 yrs of age, who kept running after the bus full of girls. @@mchief786there are certain reasons, to be concise - the government, economy, theft and overall status especially of this one city (Karachi) alone is going downwards. If you wanna travel in Pakistan visit other cities like Islamabad, Lahore or more rural Murree, Gilgit etc. That could be somewhere extraordinary than travelling here. Karachi itself is a wonderful place to travel but the barriers are making it less sustainable here.

People are raped everywhere in the world, i believe that the media seeks for such attention here. Trying to be the one to highlight the that specific news but currently speaking of Karachi and comparing that to Lahore, everyday, there are people dying here for the lamest reason. Someone argued too much, he'd get killed, some die in theft, and the authority is the most irresponsible here at the moment. Literally, nobody's taking any action. This is very common in Pakistan Seda, i’ve lived all my life in Karachi and I and all my friends have experienced this behavior on daily basis and have been touched inappropriately by men everywhere. I used to always keep n eye on these types of creeps but sometimes i would fail. Kids on street without parents are also into this stuff. Please do call the police next time or scream for help coz they might be doing this to innocent young girls on the streets. Rape cases are also on high rise in Pakistan, it’s good that you observed it and was careful. If it’s possible go our with someone. Male or female. Stay safe!!

Just a friendly advice, please be aware that the situation is getting worse day by day of Karachi not just for female tourist like you but also for locals like me as well. It would be lot better if you can avoid such crowded places or just keep male friend of yours whenever checking or roaming around such areas 😉.

Edit: To recall an incident, visited Wazir Khan mosque back in 2018 December. A British family was being given a tour by a local and all the street vendors, shopkeepers who're usually males left their work/ business to take a look at them. My cousin who was showing me around joked that even if we were to steal everything from the vendors/ shopkeepers they wouldn't notice. They'd be too busy feasting their eyes on 'gorees' (white women) 😍 🙄

this is so true!! Im turkish and white. Even I was in the Uk, they were looking at me like Im walking naked on the street and I am a hijabi! I felt so uncomfortable.. There was a man in my class and he constantly disturbing me through social media, sending me weird messages like " today I ate icecream while thinking about you" and such. and believe me I didnt give any answer to his messages once! he kept sending messages from other accounts till I finally threatened him and told this to everyone in the class. thanks god he stopped after that.
