This teacher is excellent ,his students are blessed to have him as an instructor, I love that he teaches them techniques to save wear and tear on their joints , his flow and pace is amazing ,you can tell that he is passionate about teaching the students the true joy of massage, these videos make me miss all of the great massages I received during classes ,i have incorporated some of his techniques into my massages, I am curious why they use a chair vs a rolling stool for seated massage techniques, is it because of better leverage , or you don't have one handy, any feedback on this question would be helpfull ,thanks for another great video this is one of my favorite massage channels
A rolling stool can't provide a stable base if you are using root techniques that connect weight to ground and then leverage the weight sideways. You can go up and down, by perhaps climbing on top of the stool or just sitting, but the range of motion is less. Some women, due to their lighter and smaller frames, in order to apply high deep tissue pressure, have to climb on top or above the massage table. A stool may not be easy to use in such circumstances, vs 2 elbow, 2 knee, technique.
thanks for being such a GREAT teacher. I'm beginning year 2 as a therapist from a 2200 hour program here in Canada and our technique classes were woefully inadequate compared to what I've enjoyed from the Bodyology videos:)
Aloha! I happened to notice your comments regarding the Canadian massage program. I was taught by an incredible teacher who had her training in Canada over 30 years ago, then opened a school in Hawaii (where I received my training). She taught Canadian style, plus her own, and I have to say it was the most life changing and awesome experience of my life. But I will also agree with you that Bodyology has some amazing teachings as well. Different, unique, and very pratical and easy to understand techniques. Good luck! Malama pono... :)
I learned more watching your videos as well. Thank you so much. The program I completed is only 750. So very basic. I wish I would have had an option for more hours. I am in Louisiana USA. So again thank you for sharing theses videos. I made through my first week in clinic because of these videos. Now I have completed my program and still come back to you to learn more.
Of course! Neck massage seated is very common and great way to give massage if you don't want to go through undressing... have a look at the seated massage video in my channel. Have fun!
I just started studying massage and we are taught that the direction of movement should be centripetal (towards the heart). Why in your videos it's towards the head? thank you
Hi, This is my second going to my therapist and LMT PN. She always ask if I have been having headaches or neck problems I said yes most of the time and she would massage my back and neck. On both occasion I end up having bumps on the back of my neck.. Is it normal to have bumps on your neck after a neck massage?
Thank you for your professional video content. I am a new massage client, 4th one last week, and my therapist has me supine; however, he has me lying on his hands starting under the scapular and sliding forward until the my head in supported by his hands. Then, he tries to move my head still in his hands. I noticed that you teach that the head and shoulders stay on the table. That looks more comfortable. I am not comfortable with lying on his hands and will be asking him to abandon that technique. Is my therapist’s technique a method or is he doing it wrong?
Its really hard to know what he/she doing. At the end, you as a client should feel comfortable with the treatment. If you don't, your muscles will not relax. Hope this help
I enjoy the techniques presented on this channel; however I must say that some maneuvers are quite borderline. Specifically when massaging the neck cross body - his patients face is in his crotch. Also when doing the diamond effleurage his fingers wonder way down the breast tissue.... If I did that on my board exam in Canada I would not pass it. I am speaking as a registered massage therapist here in Canada.
everyone's a body mechanics expert here :) ...or just trying to be smarter than the instructor :D As a therapist, You need to find what is suitable and comfortable for your body build. You will feel what is wrong anyway!

its important to have the direction towards the heart on the limbs and when your stroke are of draining type
