Nandini Chattopadhyay, Clinical Student Shares Her Experience at the Caribbean Medical School | AUA

- Nandini Chattopadhyay, an 8th-semester student, shares her thoughts about the faculty, campus and other facilities offered at the AUA.
She says “Our seniors handed us the welcome packages which had SIM cards and it had the keys to our dorms, like the rooms where we were supposed to live. I chose Lord Nelson student housing, it was right on the beach so you get the beauty of the island completely, you can enjoy, you can relax. I could walk back and forth from the school to my housing. Also, there were quite a few buses to run back and forth from the school to the housing.”
Speaking about the campus she said, “AUA campus is a very beautiful campus, safety-wise there is no reason to worry. I never felt for a day that it was unsafe to be in Antigua. Cafeteria food is really good, parents should not be concerned, there are a lot of options, they serve to the tastes of all ethnicities and people from all backgrounds and cultures. And you can also go to the grocery markets and cook your own food at home, so that is not a problem.”
Nandini credits her professors for her success by saying “My professors in Antigua, some of them were really nice and one of my favourite memories was dancing with all of them during Diwali celebrations. They become a part of you. They have helped me evolve as a genuine human being.”
AUA in association with Manipal provides medical aspirants with the opportunity to study in one of the top Caribbean medical schools. Students can complete the initial two years of the pre-med programs and Bachelor of Science from Manipal, and then study medicine for the remaining 4 to 5 years at the College of Medicine in Antigua.
