Awesome video as always mr. Hughes! Thums up! Can i ask how come the graver is so dark in this video? Is it maybe annealed in some way ? Rusty? or polished? :) I cant figure it out :) This is Carbide graver right? Looks like the hand push graver with a long heel and quite steep face angle? Thank you, cheers

Please show me how you copy a drawing on this bracelet . what you are using .
Truly amazing.. How long did it take you to learn how to engrave this way with such accuracy and basically flawless execution? This scroll work is so detailed and your lines clean and deliberate, reminds me of traditional tattoo work with clean bold lines with varying degrees of thickness whether it be the whole line, or a line with gradient from thick to thin. I'm picturing a piece with dimpling textured in the background with cross hatching finished with black paint to really give the illusion of a deep perspective pop. I also really liked the clip of the Japanese traditional wave pattern engraving. Have you ever played around with blending styles of tradition scroll with traditional japanese line work? I'd be really interested to see your rendition of what that would be like. I'm sure your rendition of new school line work would be something original and fresh indeed. I'm also imagining a blending of new school more modern line work combined with a Celtic layered ribbon type pattern work. Im definitely a fan of what you do. But that japanese traditional theme whether it be waves or clouds or even geisha or koifish I'd actually be interested in maybe talking with you to get a steel timepiece commissioned for a full case and bracelet job. Would swiss watch companies like omega or rolex still service timepieces that were engraved this way? Thanks for another great clip, I recently began playing around with engraving myself. I'm also an artist and self taught horologist in the middle of designing and micromachining my own movements. My movements most would consider useless as they only serve the purpose of amusing such as an automaton combined with mechanical digital or retrograde chronograph. I figure it's really the only way to be original in high horology these days, as I wouldn't be able to compete with complicated pieces as my skill sets are not there unless I were to copy something that someone already developed part by part. I'd rather be original. Anyway ill be posting my piece as soon as I finish. Im actually implementing complications into the bracelet itself to save room and to create more robust parts as to make the movement truly bulletproof. Anyway keep posting these videos, it's definitely what inspired my fascination with engraving.
Thanks for you comments. Dont think a laser can recreate the subtle effects of hand engraving like you mentioned. Sorry I dont take custom orders, because I am to busy doing my own work. The are quite a few engravers on Instagram, that may be able to help. Cheers
Thanks for asking. It will probably take me a year to get around to finishing it. I had to stop it to finish some other projects. When i eventually get it done i will post a video here,to an ebay link, when I've worked out a price.
+Hand Engraving i was thinking of getting my Rolex completely engraved... But a year is waaaay to long, it's understandable since it's not your main income? I expected 4 weeks?
Awesome work man can I know that machine details I always have a dream to work like this but i can't but I keep doing with hand engraving tools if you tell me the details so i can also work like this ✌🏻️☺️👍🏻

Hi- great work. Could you do this with the electric engraver you have been using?
What would this cost me?
