Yesss you guys went to the 2 best restaurants in Sydney right now! At Ho Jiak I also love their lobster mi goreng. And I do think the Haymarket one is better than the Town Hall one. People definitely wait over an hour for this place.

Glad you enjoyed the malaysian food over there 😍💗 Love how he used our EID celebration song on the background during they eating malaysian food😍 And for chicken rendang you mentioned its also our traditional and supple food to have when we celebrate EID, where you eat it with sticky rice (Ketupat) . Hope for the next time you will be able to visit Malaysia again and try our more authentic food 👍🏼
As a Malaysian from Penang this is funny because the Laksa you're eating is actually call "Curry Mee" here, It's a COMPLETELY different kind of noodle. Laksa varies from different region and the famous one imo is Penang's Asam Laksa which once rank No.7 in the world for best food in 2011.
because that's laksa nyonya. i personally think nyonya & sarawak laksa are curry mee hahaha😂 i prefer laksa utara doesn't matter from kedah, perlis or penang. if i want something coconutty, i can just get curry mee.

If you come back to Sydney again for Malaysian food, I would recommend Albee's Kitchen Campsie/Kingsford. All their food are quite close to authentic Malaysian food, you should try their Asam Laksa (they only sell it on certain days, Wed/Sat for Campsie).

Next time (which will be my second time), I'll come with a friend and share the chicken wings, French toast, that big bread thing (I would like to know what's that called in Chinese) and curry fish balls. Red bean drink or Hong Kong tea coffee drink (yin yang) as a drink. Your friend's (the owner) recommendations are great. I'm going for most of what you both had for lunch. It's been nearly two months since I last visited Kowloon Café. P.S.: Janice Fung introduced me to Kowloon Café (before the first time I went there) through her food vlogs on TH-cam.

The pink drink at Ho Jiak is probably BANDUNG! Which is made from rose syrup and condensed milk hahaha thus Chonny’s “milky flower”. 🤣
