I just want to thank you for making this video! I tried to do this upgrade on my 2014 Ram 3500HD without doing my due diligence with research. I found your video and not only did you do an outstanding job of explaining what needed to be done. You also posted the exact parts and how to acquire the them. Was it expensive, yes! Ohh so worth it though!
Because it's outrageous just for the mirrors, it's $500. Then, for the brain boxes for the doors, there is $200 each. The you have to get the door switch cluster.
I have a 2012 and going into the JScan demo mode doesn't show an option to modify the door modules. I don't believe this will work for the 2009-2012 models.
Unplug your module and look inside the plug opening. If there are no connecting blades, this will not work unless you purchase different modules. The dealer will only sell you modules according to your VIN number, which is why I'm asking where he got his.
You are right, I also looked into the demo mode for the 2012 and could not find the Door Modules. Reached out to the developer if he could tell me more about this, if it is meant to be missing or if there is a way around it - will let you know. But if the OBDGenie or the AlfaOBD can do it for a 2012 then it has got to be technically possible.
All the links to the hardware do not show that they are compatible with 2012 Ram 1500 Laramie Limited trucks. Would hate to purchase all this and end up having to return it. Has anyone done this with their 2012?
I have a 2015 Ram 2500 that already has the standard size folding mirrors with turn signals and heated mirror’s do you know if i would need the modules or would it be plug and play since i have those features already?
I installed tow mirrors and the side to side functions work with the up and down, the up and down funtions work with side to side buttons. How do i fix this? Initialization? One time it worked like it was suppose to, then the next time they were opposite again. Irritating
My project is to get auto folding mirrors. So now my question is do i still need these modules and even tho if i alrdy have power folding mirrors? Unknown if i have those exact modules but assume either same or newer?
I've got a 2015 ram - so I see the new door switch has 2 plug ins on the back and u mention the door modules, so does one set of wires from the new mirrors just go to the new door switch and the other goes down to the module while the original connector that was connected to the old switch just plug in to the new door switch? Did I get that right and makes sense, sorry just not trying have to tear it apart 2x?? I believe my modules should support the new mirror setup??
Click on the links to get to the modules and part numbers. Better check the modules you currently have that are factory installed. Mine were the right modules and didn’t have to order the drivers side one, just had to order the passenger side module.

Yes it does prompt you when to put in run mode. Very easy to do if you run his video while you are going through process. The only knock I have now after having everything installed is the mirror switch rattles when you turn the radio up and song has bass. Other than that shit is legit and is a smooth operation 🤙🏼
@@Tony15068 Don’t see why not. At worst if it doesn’t just have to send everything back. That’s what I was going to do if it didn’t work. The parts that are on this part list/video I think will not work for your 2023. Then parts on this video are 2013 Ram truck specific I think. But I think those sites should have the modules, mirrors, and window switches for your 2023. The PDB JScan app does have a selection for trucks 2019-2024 so you should be good with the app. Just need to get the other parts

Does the obd2 Bluetooth have to stay plugged in all the time or can I remove it once I change the folding mirror option to active?
Just did mine and it does not need to stay plugged in. Only for programming. This dude is a life saver!!!
