hope you guys enjoyed this one! I was pushed a bit out of my comfort zone by having another person Perceive me filming videos, but we ended up having fun (as you can probably tell by how much we laughed). I hope you guys enjoyed Fola and her view on some of the MVs we watched. Hoping we can do another one of these videos for more dreamcatcher songs in the future :]
Always a bit anxiety-enducing sharing a previously un-shared aspect of your life with someone for the first time, so completely understandable. But now you two know a bit more about each other, which is more friendship, so that's a win.

EDIT 2: That's also what I enjoy about reactions; everyone has a unique background and bring a unique perspective to what they see in music, which can open up one's eyes to things we might've missed during initial watches. Dancers, cinematographers, make-up artists, lighting guys, directors, producers, musicians, writers; just so many ways to look at a music video and see all that goes into making one.
I really enjoyed this. It's always nice seeing one of your friends enjoy something you love. I'm glad Fola enjoyed the reactions. Y'all should definitely do some of their live performances and maybe bring her along for some album reactions.
Something I found fascinating with dreamcatcher being from a smaller company (and honestly smaller company groups in general) is how they're able to create such beautiful music videos without the kind of big blockbuster budget of a SM or YG. They really have to use some clever use of sets and props to get these shots, especially in the nightmare series it's kind of amazing what they did with a small budget.
Loved this video btw, I really enjoyed the tangents you went on and it seemed like a lot of fun for both of you. Would love to see more if you and Fola are up for it :)
Piri is by far my favourite outfit era of Dreamcatcher! Short haired Dami in red and black is total beast mode.

I still think Chase Me would be a great intro into DC for anyone that's new - partly cus it envelops the roots of their concept and the core of their sound - which has changed drastically over the years. Deja Vu and Scream would still be included in my recommendation as a scope of their evolution, just not the first 😁

Dreamcatcher was my gateway to becoming a kpop stan. Dreamcatcher was an instant stan after 1st listen to Deja Vu. I love them so much. I was playing King's Raid and didnt know them before. The collab was a succes to me XD.

Dreamcatcher just dropped their new gorgeous 6th Anniversary fan song called Reason. A powerful Rock song, that has amazing belting vocals by 4 girls (Siyeon, Yoohyeon, JiU and SuA) and some incredible rapping by Dami, Gahyeon, SuA. It's incredibly emotional and a huge thank you to their fans. It depicts their inspiring story and how their fans (InSomnia) helped them during the tough times. Its sister song is Fairytale, a b-side song with some insane Siyeon vocals (I suggest watching the emotional fan created, Insomnicsy version).
Also check their b-sides Black or White, Red Sun, Jazz Bar, Sleepwalking, Wake Up, Sahara, Break The Wall, Poison Love, Whistle, In The Frozen, Locked Inside The Door, and so many more, to see their true range as musicians, dancers and performers. From R&B and Funk, to J-Metal. They can do anything.
Also, the shocking truth is that the mighty, almost 40 mil view Scream may be the "worst" song on the 10-song album, Dystopia: Tree Of Language. One of the best albums in KPop history.
And then there's also Fly High, What, Piri, Goodnight, and other songs from the Nightmare Series. There aren't any bad songs in the 6+ hours of Dreamcatcher discography.
Then you pick up the dance MVs, the Reality shows, Dreamcatcher Mind, and the Behind The Scenes videos that show us how funny, sassy and lovable these 7 sisters are and how they truly love and have fun with each other. The Dreamworld never ends.

The sign they make in Scream with their fingers isn't devil horns, it's the sign of the evil eye which is meant to reflect back evil coming at you. In the case of the song, it's meant to ward off hate coming from internet trolls. Kpop groups are routinely targeted on the internet by malicious 'netizens'. Some vulnerable idols have been driven to suicide by such attacks.
interesting! that sign is also often used to symbolize devil horns, especially in American metal music which is what I grew up on and what I am most familiar with! and I also assume they took inspiration from that as well :]

Deja Vu is a rock ballad, not even close to mainstream Kpop. Scream, Boca is way more closer to mainstream.
Dreamcatcher - and looking behind you two Mamamoo - are performance queens and they are both really good vocally.
I'm new to Omsomnia, too, but Mamamoo feeds from the energy of their fans and are so much better live. I've seen both of them for only 15 - 20 minutes on stage last year and ... I'm a happy camper know. But I hope for more ;-)
