      You can keep them outside, next to the adult plants in full sunlight. If you are worried about rain, just keep them under cover until the rain has passed or keep them under cover until you see the first seed germinate. Then straight outside from under cover.

In my climate, would I bet better off growing them in a greenhouse to maintain humidity in the air?

    • @TheFlytrapGarden

      Yes they should always be grown outside when possible. Many people from AZ grow their VFT outside under shade cloth. Humidity isn’t a major aspect of their growth, give them good light and water and they’ll be happy. I’ve grown mine in 42 C days here in Aus with

    What is the correct theory here when it comes to water. Some people say the tray should dry up inbetween each water sesion ... some say the tray should always be full of water and never dry up? Which is the correct way here?

    • @TheFlytrapGarden
      @TheFlytrapGarden  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Soil must always be moist. I answered your question in a previous one of your comments. More water in summer, less in winter. It’s a more “advanced” technique to let the pot dry out slightly between watering in winter. As long as the soil stays moist, you should be ok. Better to just give them access to water all the time

    • @pershop4950
      @pershop4950 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also agree with the "moist" idea. The tray doesn't always have to be filled with water, it doesn't always have to be filled to the usual line full of water, but the soil should be moist. If you have moist soil, then the water in the tray can be lower or higher, can be present or not, as long as the soil is moist. And based on time of year, like summer or winter, you may need more or less water. This is up to you to discover for your growing area.

    • @pershop4950
      @pershop4950 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NickyandEmmi The contradictions are usually small ones, except for here saying there is no need for stratification.
      That part is definitely iffy but at the same time, if it worked that way for one person but another person needed stratification, that's where you'll need to make take all the info in and do what works for you.
      the thing to remember also is that some people will plant 10s or 100s of seeds at a time, so the idea that some germinate and others didn't, will make it seem as if choosing Method A or Method B, works just fine, since we do expect a certain amount of seeds to not germinate as well, making it seems as if the method is fine when we do see some germination.
      It's when you buy those growing kits with 3-5 seeds and nothing ever germinates, that you wonder, if the instructions given were correct.
