One of the greatest mask in existence just because of it's versatility and the immense number of powers that you can replicate with it. Imagine, a toa with it could replicate the immense healing powers of Keetongu, the ability to camouflage from certain rahi, the ability to regrow limbs or the ability of the klakk to free shadow matoran. Any toa that as some knowledge of the rahi that lives in the same environment as him becomes a menace and almost invincible.

The mask does have its limits. One of the big things that the mask cannot do is replicate natural abilities. Something like regrowing limbs or shapeshifting is out of the question as that is a physical ability that requires changing of size and shape of the user. But yes, a Toa who has a deep knowledge of Rahi within their surroundings would be able to really take advantage of this mask.

The Faxon also can't mimic Rhotuka powers so that severely limits the mask's list of powers (at least from known Rahi).

Imagine if Hahli could use copy Keetongu’s powers

Yeah technically she should be able too

The mask of a tragic hero.

    Happy revenge of the fifth!
I have some questions about this particular kanohi:
Would for example a toa of psionics be able to copy the powers of any rahi she encountered; learning through mindreading the rahi how they trigger/ activate their powers ( instinctively), or would she have to know the biological, chemical, physical... processes to use them? And as the knowledge behind the powers or inner workings is a requirement, does this mean the Kanohi serves as a variant of a Kanohi of Adaption or mutation, modifying the user to replicate rahi powers? Or is it more like Matau's Mahiki allowing for temporary body transformations, while relying on its user's mental constraints before reverting.

@Toa Fellha For your first question, theoretically yes. The description that we were given by LEGO about this mask specifies that you only need to be aware that a certain Rahi living in the same environment as the ability that you want to replicate. You don't need to know how the creature does it, you just need to know that it can and this is what makes masks so unbelievably powerful.
For the second one, it's technically yes for the mask of adaptation since it lets you copy the ability of the Rahi living in the environment that you are currently in and each of them has, for sure, abilities that are unable them to survive in their environment. But, contrary to the mask of adaptation, we don't know really if the Faxon modifies your biology in order to replicate a given ability, we just know that it lets you replicate the powers that you want to replicate. For the mask of mutation, it's a no since the mask of mutation doesn't let you mutate your own body, which is specified in its description. It just lets you mutate any creature around you in any way that you want.
Finally, for your last question, Matau's mask doesn't work that way. :P The Mahiki doesn't have the power to transform someone, it creates illusions. ;) So, in the movie, when Matau turned into other creatures orcharacters, he didn't really transform into them. He just created an illusion to make the others around him think that he was Krekka/Nidhiki/a Vahki. They don't explain it very well in the movie, but you can understand it when you read the description of this mask power. ;)

      @@astromenuisix7346 thanks for the reply.
Does this mean if one were to replicate spiderpowers, (as they are everywhere) , would one gain the proportional strength and speed of a spider, just their baseline set or scaled according to regular physics? Are there any draw-backs or limitations? ; as Lesovikk lost against a WOUNDED rock lion and Hahli as a GA-matoran should have been able to put up more of a fight like using sea spider shrinking powers or giant squid strength.
With my kanohi examples, I thought more of variants that either work similar or on a slightly different set of rules.
As for Matau's mask, the Toa version is both capable of illusions and shape-shifting, unlike its noble version ;)

Since most Rahi don't really have a mind, I don't think you would learn much from mind-reading a Rahi. The best way to learn a Rahi's power is either witnessing it using its power or having some sort of knowledge of the Rahi power beforehand. The mask isn't the same as a Mask of Adaptation, Mutation, or Illusion. Anything that has to deal with physical, bodily changes (change in physical shape or size) cannot be done by the Faxon. For example, if a Rahi has super-strength, the Faxon cannot copy that since that is tied with the Rahi's natural, physical ability.

@@astromenuisix7346 Actually, Matau's mask did shapeshift him so he did physically change shape. The Great version has shapeshifting abilites alongside illusion abilities. The Noble version only has illusion abilities.
