    I used this video just now to confirm my initial idea to aerate my swimming pool.
    I took a piece of 1/2 inch hose, drilled a hole to suit a piece of irrigation tube, cut the tube at a 50 degree angle at the tip that goes inside the main hose, then push the hose in about half way making sure the angled cut is facing the direction of the water flow.
    I got just as good air as in the video at a depth of around half a metre.
    Thank you very much friend

    Very simple and easy build. Works fine, But what do I have to do for it to work even better? I have 620gph pump I drilled a hole in the center with 17/64 and for the top hole i used 1/4 with 1/4 tubing. IF i make the center hole bigger and use bigger tubing would I get better results ?

      @@HergerTheJoyous same here, I just created an automatic watering system for my to raised bed gardens that is fed off of my rain spout. In order to get both Chambers to fill up at once, I needed to connect them with a bulkhead and a piece of PVC pipe at the bottom so they would equalize pressure on both fill at the same time. Had to fabricate my own both heads because of the shape of the containers. Sometimes you just got to do what you got to do I could have bought the bulkheads, but they cost about $30 a piece and I needed two of them. By fabricating my own I spent about $2 per bulkhead

      eastsidebaronmike at homedepot you will find (pvc plug) but you will notice that it will be a bit bigger to fit into a 3/4 pipe however this vid shows you that I grind/shave the plug to fit inside the 3/4.......but you can use any size pipe and pvc plug the key is to make that pug fit inside diameter on the pipe

    What kind of flow rate are you having out of the 1 1/2" pipe prior to the venturi adaption? Does this reduce this flow rate by much?

    • @Mr1SUPERB
      @Mr1SUPERB  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      flow rate on 1 1/2 its gonna be same if you used the same drill size..but if you make the center whole bigger thats a different story coz the water flow volume is high

    • @sdmbusiness
      @sdmbusiness 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Mr1SUPERB Great effect and build. I have the same question as Steve R. You are getting an amazing venturi effect and airiation (and tiny bubble size) , but how much is the water flow rate compromised going through such a small opening? I wonder about the ideal ratio or sweet spot between a nice venturi effect and maximum water flow.

    The problem ,there isn't 1/5" plug to fit into the 3/4" pipe, therefore you all need to use 1" pipe insted.

    • @isanBen
      @isanBen ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Easy fix, can glue a bottle cap and trim it to the size of the outer diameter of the pipe, slip on a connector fitting to add a small piece of pipe, where I am, they live and breathe pipe, rest is just some tinkering, 1" pipe won't fit smaller pumps, again, simple tinkering and some glue should fix everything

    From experience EVERY venturi system put hella back pleasure on your pump, the flaw in venturi method is your trying to force the same output through a much smaller and lesser free flowing cavity to collect air and send it in the right direction basically, my 12 jet spa pumps experiments couldn't handle the the constant restriction of flow, they overheated and overall life span halved most of the time or drastically fell from 4 years to a matter of months, the pumps being external rely on heat transfer from a heatsink and back fan (like most spa, bath tub, hot tub pumps do), unlike a submersible they do not expel heat well enough to cope for long period of time and i would doubt a water cooling jacket would help - so im not a fan of venturi systems, the better option is this guys other video where he simply puts an air intake line on the water pickup point of his submersible - I would consider this but its still not "trouble inducing" free - impellers are not supposed to accept air and a hella pumps will not self prime if air is present, these ideas and concepts are fine if you have the correct arrangement as this guy but as a warning if your considering drilling hole sin your pumps - it may not work or you and end up costing you more than one of these extortionate aerators! I cant find a solution other than the very simple method of firing my water outlets in to the water from above - collecting air in the process, hella noisy and tonnes of plash but fuck it, didn't cost me jack shit.

    • @xylosfurniture
      @xylosfurniture ปีที่แล้ว

      Just keep your main line as it is with no restriction and make a parallel line with the venturi on it (Ideally with a valve for better control).
