This match would've turned into Mortal Kombat with Pepe's presence
The Dutch started it when first van Bommel tackled Ronaldo from behind, and a few minutes later Boulahrouz attacked Cristiano, extending his leg at Ronaldo's waist level and kicking him in the thigh with all the power. And for that, Boulahrouz only got a yellow card, which was ridiculous. Raising your leg to waist level and kicking it around the waist and thigh of the opposition player, should immediately be a red card, period. This violent foul shows that the Dutch wanted to eliminate Cristiano from the very beginning because Cristiano was already, back then, the biggest threat to them and Portugal's biggest star. It's clear as day. And the Dutch managed to do it because Cristiano eventually had to leave the field very early in the first half, with an injury. So for me, everything that Portugal did afterwards was justified. It was the Dutch who started it, they eliminated Ronaldo due to a disgusting foul, so the Portuguese responded.
The referee was at fault, he made a huge mistake - he should have immediately given Boulahrouz a red card for this disgusting attack on Ronaldo. It would be a clear signal to both teams that there would be no tolerance for any harsh fouls, and then neither team would make such a mess out of this match.
16 bookings 4 red cards the battle of Nuremberg
The best football match ever
The ref would have been glad the game ended
That second foul on Ronaldo was career ending💀 how did the refree not give him red
this is real Legendary
Mortal Kombat vs street fighter
It takes a whole lot of restrain for a team to not get wound up by the brutal cunningnes of the Dutch team, the Portuguese could not hold back, while other teams responded much more restrained, like Spain in the final.
The humblest football match ever 💀💀
😇Van basten was so great a player, though, as a coach...hmm...
Wow
The scars of Maluku spice war
Netherlands vs brazil 1974 less cards but much tougher
Real fight

Rated R for violence
Me acuerdo de esto. Todos amonestados. Lástima q holanda dio mucho de sí y no pudo clasificar de ronda
A Holanda deu muito de si, é verdade, pena que esse muito foi só porrada.
The two dirtiest teams of that era. It was fantastic.
