In Season 1, Huey hugs Riley and then Riley calls him gay. In Season 3, Riley is the one to give his bro a hug, this is what I call character development!

Yeah.. and in Season 1 Huey is the one who shows love for his brother, but in here he's like 😑 when his family shows care.
Huey really took several steps back.
Yeah season 4 took a nose dive once the creator Aaron McGruder and writers stepped out. I recommend watching Black Dynamite the writers from Boondocks migrated to create that show. The movie it’s based on is funny as hell too.
Black Dynamite would be a great second series watch I think you guys would really enjoy
The MJ episode is my favorite
So about BD...
Ashley and I did watch what we thought was the 1st episode (we think we missed the pilot) and we laughed and loved it, very similar to Boondocks vibe. Well the second we got it on TH-cam, it was 100% blocked. We still have that video and plan on doing that whole series too, but we'll have to go a different route than TH-cam, to get it out to y'all.

Glad you enjoyed season 3. Cant wait to season you guys in season 4. As everybody pointed out the writing is not as good as the previous seasons but 4 episodes are as good as the classics.
I also recommend you watch the black dynamite movie before watching the show. Its hilarious and provides context for the show.

I'll give you a warning before you do season 4 (If you do it). The original Creator has nothing to do with season 4 so a lot of people feel like it's not as good as the first three seasons. Me personally I think you still should react to it because I think it has good moments through out the season.

You should know when 24 first came out, there was no netflix. It was the most expensive series at the time. Each episode was costing more than entire movies.

The last of season 3😢.Now the season 4 where the writer and creator was fired you can tell the differences the humor was flat almost cringy .
The creator was fired extremely late into production, at which point Sony had his name removed from everything.
Aaron fired one of his own writers, Carl Jones, just because he was salty over him working on other shows. Season 4 was a struggle without him, and it's likely that Aaron bequeathed his position to other writers (that he hired), and, proceeding the aftermath of his beef with Sony, the new writers probably rewrote some scripts Aaron worked on.
In short? The creator-- not his absence-- was a big provocateur of why the season sucked.

Season 4 is mid. Not so bad it's not worth watching but nowhere near as good as the first 3 and you can immediately tell somethings off with it.
Exactly. Season 4 definitely feels off compared to the previous seasons but it's not unwatchable. Just a bit stale for the most part.

I had to watch this entire show like 4 times before I got the reference about the agent spying on Huey throughout the show. The FBI spied on damn near every civil rights leader and infiltrated the movement in so many ways, that’s how threatened they were by men and women who couldn’t even access guns that easily. But I like that in the show the agent is funny and actually looking out for Huey instead of the part they actually played in real life

Loved yalls reactions! Season 4 will degrade in quality. The original creator was not involved so the episodes will be pretty terrible on comparison. It’s almost a completely different show.
