Lol, I agree, probably one of the best walk thru's yet! I remember seeing the lion's there. I didn't know that they keep them on a habitat now though. The MGM is one of my favorite casinos, but it is HUGE.
the first place I stayed in Vegas was at the MGM! A word of advice on crazy people (from someone who grew up in an inner city full of them), remember crazy is also unpredictable and what is funny and quirky can turn into dangerous at the drop of a dime. Arriving this Saturday and can't wait!

My wife still has a $5 chip from the Marina. We were there and saw Olivia Newton John and the Smothers Brothers back in about 1975. That 76 gas station across the street used to have a sign out front that said "Free Aspirin"!
I sell homes and work as a deputy bldg inspector, Erica works at a casino as a waitress. Cost of living is close to Ohio, just housing costs more. In Ohio our mortgage was $650, here its $1500. We make twice as much as we did in Ohio.

Lol....on our last visit the UBER driver saw the sign outside MGM advertising for new recruits for LVPD. He told me I should apply..."They will take ANYBODY"....my wife Michelle thought that was really funny, I did not see the humor.
When it opened you could walk through a giant Lion's head/mouth at the front. Someone told me they rebuilt the area and changed the area because asian high rollers thought it to be bad luck to walk through a Lion's mouth. I dont know if that reason is true but they did make that change so.....
Wouldn't doubt it! It wasn't impressed with it. At the Lion Habitat they get to have their own areas, fed horse meat to the max...hence the $20 per person entry fee. (kids are free)
It's true! It was too beautiful to lose, but the reason was a good one. It would be like us walking under a giant ladder and past a big black cat to go gamble, wouldn't feel very lucky!
Best payout ever at the Majestic Lions slots across from a little shop with candy, toiletries. A bank of elevators is near there too. I have always won money at these machines. Theres a line to play them at times. I remember when the lions were there you made a right & kept walking towards the hotel elevators. We found them because they were right there when we got off the elevator into the casino. Last May they were still paying off. We walked from Caesars about 4 am to make some money like we did many times. It payed off again.
In the opening scenes you show the front desk area with the large polished marble floor. When the MGM first opened they had a shooting water fountain in the middle of the floor. Water and a highly polished marble floor........what could go wrong there??? After numerous slip and fall accidents (including me) they replaced the fountain with a floral display. They also had a live lion habitat display.......until one of the lions attacked a trainer. The attack can be seen on TH-cam. The lion habitat was also removed. Money grubbing MGM started the resort fees and the parking fees.
Use to love mgm, but this last july 2017 summer that place felt trashy. Service was awful and food in certain spots inside just made me sick. In the past 4 years this is the one place i feel is going downhill to be honest.
I can remember when the big lion in front of the building was this cartoonish one before they replaced it with a more realistic lion....but well you know, lemme tell ya, if ever I wanted to meet a 70 year old guy from another planet, Vegas would definitely be the place I would go. Maybe LA too.

Dropped my wallet the first day I was there playing blackjack on a busy Saturday night. Got up and walked around before realizing I lost it. Went back 30 minutes later and the table was full and my wallet still on floor underneath the chair. Nothing missing!

Best getaway driving ever! Lol I miss the strip sometimes....😕

Ah love these classic episodes. Took my little sister to the Signature 2 weeks ago, had a pretty good time. Love the Grand, it's so nostalgic.

When I first went to MGM several years ago, like 25, they had the flying monkeys from Wizard of OZ, motif. It was awesome.
