Hi Amy, i've a question. As a physical therapist we may rarely use this because of the TR currency . A mothers of 4 yrs child has west syndrome said to me about upsee -
'' when we walk together my back hurts and couple of minutes i am out of stamina'' Is it about how they wear or thightening belts or bad posture ?

When I used it, I was surprised at how difficult it was. It tired me out too. Someone local would need to assess how this mother might use it more efficiently and painfree

My 2 yr old would benefit from something like this. She has spastic diplegic cerebral palsy and hypertonia.

We have an Upsee for my 7 yr old grandson. Very hard on the lower back as he tends to put his full weight on the harness to support himself instead of his feet and all of his 40 lbs is transferred to my lower back. Also, if I am lifting his legs as I step and he suddenly tries to step, it throws me off balance.

Having tried the Upsee, I can definitely see those problems

How do you think this might work for a child who has low tone and is not yet able to actively take weight on his lower limbs? Also, is there a recommendation for the minimum height difference between therapist and child? I’m kind of short ... haha... Thank you for your videos! They’ve been so helpful. I’m a PT who is just starting out working with children after most of my professional experience being with adults. The videos have given me ideas to make therapy fun and therapeutic for the children I see. :)

I have not tried the Upsee with a low tone child but I think it would work fine. I think the height differential would not matter as long as you are taller than the child. I have only use this product this one time, so I am far from an expert, but that is my guess.

hameed fathima I am sorry. Unfortunately, it is considered unethical for me to provide treatment recommendations for a child I have not personally evaluated. I recommend you find a local pediatric physical therapist to assist you.
