OneFC muay thai is not the same as muay thai used to be. As a thai myself for me there was a 3 generation(this is my opinion) 1. After rick rufus is lost to muaythai, at that time many legend now have start to make a name for themself, someone might say this is strongest generation (somrak,samart,seanchai,buakaw, so many big name is still at their prime) 2.i don't know what to called this generation but it kind of a bussiness as usual, but legend back then start to having a concern about muaythai in this generation but people didn't just watch and let them be like that, Many big muaythai fighting stage have born like THAIFIGHT and making muaythai famous even more, but the concern is still there 3.ONEFC arrived and they know exactly, what problem in muaythai are. Okay now this is my opinion as a thai and saw what is a muaythai problem are. 1.the fighter are poor and payout for each fight is less(except if you are big name) that why many muaythai fighter have 300+ fight record 2.passion is lost because the pay rate is low. So shady scheme like gambler fixed the fight result or make fighter throw a fight. This is happend for very long time 3. 5 round of competitions but action for 2 and dancing for 3. Just like 2 reason above if you are not a big name, why bother go all out also the pay isn't great. That why legend back then concern that foreigner muaythai fighter is gonna dominate a thailand fighter because they are love the action, muaythai boran technique is crazy and dangerous, people expecting thai fighter to show case it but the truth is you most likely to see those techniques with foreigner fighter (still except muaythai big name) So what is ONEFC actually fix muaythai is 1.they have a money to boost all the fighter there, this reason fix the poor performance of muaythai 5 round used to be. That why ONEFC muaythai is full of action 2.it gave passion to push themselves. Muaythai fighter that is not able to get to ONEFC will try to make a name for themselves. For the hope that they will be on ONEFC 3. It separate muaythai into 2 ideal. Well this is kind of politics shit. Lumpini is like a mother who born the legendary fighter out and ONEFC is offer to push those legend to go even further. Maybe that why ONE lumpini is exist today 4. It making a people who used to gambling and cause a fixed matched start to have no where to go, ONEFC is offer a high action in each match and they intend to keep it that way, it is big obstacle for these shady people. Lately fighter are getting caught throwing a fight very often and i heard (idk if it true or not) that ONEFC is not just banning individual, they are banning the WHOLE gym. This is all my opinion. ONE is not a good place to watch muay thai. The ruleset is very different from traditional muay thai and is less technical with a dumber scoring system. ONE is like McDonald's of muay thai. Go watch something else like golden age fights
