How are the ac hostels (if you can recommend some tour videos of it) and how far is it from the food and convenience stores, etc?

I once saw a video in which an amity student said that hostel girls are not allowed to leave the campus, like they can’t go out of the college to malls & every thing. And if they want to go then they have to take permission from their parents and then get an outpass. Is it true ?

Hi you mentioned about outpass . Why is the attendance blocked when student is on outpass? Plus why hostelers can not go out during day time (for that also out pass is needed)?
It’s blocked so that no one marks a proxy for u... and they don’t give an outpass on weekdays! N yes u need an outpass to go out during the day time on the weekends

You don’t need their permission for a day outpass on weekends, however they will receive a message about your outpass details on the registered parent number, as soon as u apply for one!

I have already applied to ba(hons) applied psychology and I did read the syllabi too. Any particular reason why your friend didn’t like the course? Did she compare it with other colleges? Also don’t mind the narrow minded people, you’ll find them everywhere. Keep a positive attitude and body language in life. Peace.
That was just one person! Honestly have no clue why she dint like it! My hostel roommate liked it, they covered all fields- which makes sense since it’s an applied psych course and not a specialisation! I frankly find it apt for the course!

Hi , I don't really know what goes on during the selection process. I've applied for BA(hons)applied psychology, I'm really into psychology , but I didn't had it as a subject in my school. I don't really know what should i be prepared with for the selection process. But if I still get selected i want to make sure if the faculty is good or not !!

Hey di, ur videos helped a lot! I just applied for bsc clinical psychology and its my first pref over christ, bz the latter is really strict and ill end up feeling suffocated…hows the department compared to other colleges, specifically the faculty? Also do they have a specific eligibility criteria for the SAP program or its choice based?
Abt the hostel, is it really strict? As in are there chances of flexibility by the warden if i want to choose a specific room or floor? Or even which flatmates im appointed with?

I am also loooking forward to clinical psychology but i wanna ask that i don't want to take the 5 year intergrated course so I'll have to for BA hons in applied psychology? And the graduate degree of applied psychology or clinical psychology(integrated) are different?
If u take admission in the intergrated (4.5) year course, u can’t leave in between... at the end you will get your ba in clinical degree and your MA in clinical degree... so be sure if u wanna do clinical if u consider this course! N if u go for the ba applied you’re gonna get a degree for ba applied psychology. And then u can choose to do your masters in clinical and then mphil!

You will be able to apply but it’ll be really difficult to catch up! It’s a lot! Plus you won’t have any background knowledge of the subject! So think hard before going in! And be sure that you’ll be able to do mphil also! Otherwise u should go for counselling or just a ma in psychology and then decide what you want to specialise in. -just my opinion 🙈

Is there psy.D in clinical psychology?
Can u give information about course in MA applied psychology, counselling and clinical psychology what's the difference and similarity between these three.
Chahat applies will teach u bits of different fields of psych, counselling will enable you to be a counsellor: dealing with people for day to day problems, etc and clinical is if u eventually wanna do an mphil to get a licence to be a registered therapist who deal with psychological illnesses. How much scope do psychology have these days n will have scope after 5 yrs too? I'm in 11th class n later I want to study psychology.
There’s a lot of scope if u plan to move abroad later on... and if u plan to stay here, you should be passionate about it since it’s still a growing field... however OB is a good option, monetarily..
so basically think of why you’d want to take it up, and plan accordingly!

Yes!! There are scholarships for all courses! My friends who started with such scholarships have done their entire degree on that scholarship by maintaining grades through college

i had applied for B.des in amity...and as you said about the faculties insulting and commenting on the dess of girls its been a little bit weird so i just wanted to ask you that is it continued till now and in design course also or its okay with all kind of dresses? Hey! You department is the one the chillest! And it’s gotten way better in my department too! And you don’t get to chose a hostel block. You will be given h6, it’s for all freshers. This is about ac hostel.. idk about non ac

I heard that one have to choose b/w 5 languages and this is mandatory. So can you me easiest yet most beneficial I should choose.
I don’t know about easier... but from what I’ve heard Japanese is the easiest, though most people opt for French or Spanish.

There is no option for just ba in clinical psychology
Clinical is only for ba+ma
And you will be qualified to be a counsellor... most people in clinical go for higher education to obtain a license
Are there many nri’s in amity and will it be an easy experience for someone who doesn’t know Hindi?

Kashish Jain you can if u have some official work or somehow you convince your warden for your reason but it’s quite difficult to go out on weekdays, officially.
Is M.A Phychology in Organisational Behaviour is good in Amity..?
I don’t personally know anyone who has done ob here but in general psychology courses are really good! But I’d say keep Christ as a first option, their placements are really good! Idk about amity

Hii.. I wanted to know that my interview is on 21st of August and if I get the admission here. From when the attendance will be taken?
It's the last date they have provided me for the entrence exam. And I think the classes have already started which is master's in Neuroscience.
Classes have started for all courses... so I don’t know how they’ll calculate your attendance for the semester! So make sure you clear it with them before joining!

Di please tell me that BA+MA clinical psychology is of 4 and a half years.......and else 3 years of BA and 2 years of MA so altogether 5 years........so would IMA would be less preferred than the BA applied psychology ?????????
It’s totally on what you prefer!
I have BA+MA Cauz I was sure I wanted to do clinical for masters so this helps me save 6months!
If you aren’t sure about which field in psych you would wanna pursue later on you should maybe take ba applied Cauz in that you’ll get exposure to different fields of psychology... and then u can decide what you want to do for masters...
So it’s totally upto what you prefer!
And the ba + ma degree is equivalent to a regular ba and ma, if time duration if your concern. So it’s totally a personal choice!

Thought I’ll update you, don’t know if you’ve taken admission already.... recently a few mphil places have made it necessary to have a 2 years long ma. Not all, but some!

What are the subjects in BA MA integrated psychology apart from fbl bs and bc ?
There are around 10 different subjects every semester! So I can’t possibly list them all🙈 and they keep changing and evolving them to Make the course structure better Cauz my juniors have some different subjects as well! They are well structured for clinical students though!

I have heard that in amity no matter which course we take we have to study subjects that are unrelated to our main subject. Like even a business student has to study IT and psychology . Is this true ?
It was just in the first year that we had other subjects too..... I had a paper for history, logic and reasoning, political science-- but they were very easy and it was just the first 2 semesters... after that it’s all psychology related
You’ll initially have subjects like stats, research methodology, into to psych, intro to clinical psych, intro to bio psych and then you move towards disorders and therapies over the semesters. Hope this helps! 🙈

Kirti Malhotra she dint like the course structure because it’s not too in-depth about abnormal psych... but all my roommates had applied and they liked it! The syllabus makes sense! In applied you should study about the different domains of psychology so that u can chose which one to pursue later on! If someone what’s to just focus on disorders and therapies they should take clinical.
In my personal opinion the course structure is pretty apt!

U will do internships every semester after 1st year, throughout the course! It’s mandatory, so there’s a lot of practical exposure

It’s gotten better now... but it was EXTREMELY stringent

Degree value: du
Educational gain: amity over du for psych. (Unless you get into LSR: cauz it’s suppose to be one of the best in the country, for psych.)
However, as far as I’m aware, DU’s curriculum is still on DSM IV while amity’s curriculum is up to date and keeps getting revised!

They gym has a membership but it’s not very pricey... the gaming zone has bowling, play station, pool- all are chargeable services but very reasonable

U will need a laptop for any course at amity and holistically, yes the environment does help with communication skills development and self presentation skills
