Yesss!! I was waiting for this! Thank you! Waiting on the remix too. Look forward to it. DKDK has a lot more bts explanation videos of you want to see that on your time or reactions. We love it! From LA
I'm actually dropping a surprise video for the song I selected to remix. Stay tuned. Should be up soon. I had a lot of fun doing it. I hope you guys enjoy it as well!
RM is a genius (IQ 148) so SOME of their lyrics are complicated and about Korean culture but not all. A lot are pretty straight forward but not all. He/they are Korean after all. Lol That's why I love DKDKTV and individually Danny and David so much. They are amazing at interpretations. #MarylandUSA
fun fact: when ddaeng was released a lot of translators on twitter had a breakdown because the lyrics was so hard to translate. basically it took them a lot longer to decipher the meaning of the lyrics because they might have different meaning and there was a lot of puns and words with multiple meanings. it's so funny tbh seeing those translators having a breakdown hahaha
*BTW ARMY'S DON'T MIND IF THE REACTORS PAUSES THE VIDEOS ALOT. FOR US ARMY'S IT'S ACTUALLY MUCH BETTER BECAUSE YOU'RE READING THE LYRICS AND YOUR UNDERSTANDING THE MEANING OF THE SONG. SO DON'T WORRY, WE UNDERSTAND 😊. MORE POWER TO YOU AND YOUR CHANNEL!!! 😊🇵🇭*
Language is always difficult to translate. Because language is built up over generations and generations of historical events, entertainment, public figures, news stories, etcetc. So a lyric in a song that is genius and a hella savage diss in it’s language may mean nothing to foreigners. Always interesting to learn language because you learn so much more than just vocabulary and grammar.
Really appreciate your comment at the end about how even just reading the lyrics aren't enough to full understand something from another language. There are a whole slew of cultural contexts behind something which has that second or even triple meaning so you can't appreciate something just because you've read the literal translation.
I feel like it's only in the cyphers and some solo projects where you'll find lyrics with a lot of those specific cultural references that are hard for international fans to understand. Otherwise they're really good at writing universal lyrics with like just a hint of something specific that they only know. I think that's the charm tho cuz there can always be another interpretation AND you can learn about something you never knew before~!!
Please do "Satoori Rap / Paldo Gangsan" by BTS too... For this one they rap using different Korean dialects and there is also the DKDKTV explanation that would complement and let you see the deep meaning it has, mainly that they are proud of their country's culture.
Ddaeng is just one example of BTS' genius lyricism and wordplay. 💜 not just any words that can put into rhyme. More wordplay within BTS' and raplines lyrics. 🔥💯
Rm actually has an iq Of 148 and he and suga are the ones that write most of the lyrics in bts songs. They also are the main people to produce most of bts songs.
yeah but that also has really self referential lyrics to tiger's career that no one who hasn't followed his career closely would get. a better introduction to tiger and MFBTY via RM is Bucku Bucku
@@WonderingWildWanderingRose that is a hell of a lot of history for a single song. it's like... Tiger's entire discography, lmao. honestly not everyone *has* to be that invested, sometimes a song can just be bopped to... which tbh is something BTS fans in the comments should realize more often. seriously the only reason I mentioned perhaps avoiding it was bc the comments would be obnoxious, not bc I personally care whether he gets all the references or not lmao
I'm glad you reacted to this! When reading the lyrics, it's not hard to get the gist of the song, but I think it's really cool to see something like this and see the cultural influence in their music. Interesting and educational. Great reaction!
I like your summary of the frog in the well. I really love DKDKTV's Explained videos because they will often catch cultural context things that non-Koreans wouldn't have understood. Not all of BTS songs are this _culturally_ complex, so many can be easily understood by lyrics alone, but there is often double-meanings and wordplay that not everyone can understand. I slightly disagree with David's explanation of "the well" meaning Korea though. I think what RM was saying is that their haters live in a "well" of narrow-minded _thinking_ and they hate on BTS for acting outside of their expectations of what rappers/artists "should" do. But BTS is blowing up because they are not stuck in that narrow box, whereas the haters are going nowhere. Also the 'hope you die in that well,' I think he's not really saying 'I hope you die' but more like 'if you're going to be like that, then stay where you are and don't come around here bothering us' - like go on and stay in your narrow place your whole life since you're happy there. I'm from Brooklyn, BTW. Recently of Detroit but I grew up in Brooklyn.
Totally looking forward to you reacting to the lyrics video of Cypher! It’s totally okay to pause the videos to read the lyrics if needed! We will be more than glad and happy if you do that. :) Singapore🇸🇬

One of the things I love about BTS is the depth of their lyrics .... I love David & Danny from DKDKTV they do a great job explaining lyrics and imagery from the Korean knowledge base. Great reaction. Thank You. From Cairns Australia.
I love teh frong in the well reference. It´s a proverb from China, they make a lot of references to frogs that live in the well and look at the sky thinks that´s the actual size because it´s limited to his view. I am from Brazil!!!
That makes them the way they are. Instead of trying to appeal to what the audience may know, it’s them trying to educate us new things we may not know. I’ve learnt so much from them through their reference and I somehow find learning fun now.... mmm never thought I’d say that but they’ve expose me to things I thought I never would find fun without even looking through it
I have a love/hate relationship with BTS lyrics. Lol. On one hand I love that they can be so complex, and that it makes me think outside my “normal”, on the other hand sometimes I just want to be able to know what it means!! 😂 Thankfully not all BTS lyrics are as complicated as Ddaeng. In a lot of other songs the lyrics are more up for personal interpretation, or are somewhat straightforward. 😋 Thanks for reacting to BTS! I look forward to more of your reactions! 💜 From FL, USA ☀️🍊🌊
"Celebrate rather than celebs" can be seen that after most Award Events, and even their concerts, some or all of them, do live streams to talk about what happened
9:03 from this point on in your video is the reason why BTS is being recognized by their country for spreading the Korean Culture to people around the world with their music. So many people want to visit SKorea, learn the language, have started eating at Korean restaurants, myself included in all of this.. 🇺🇸
Yes, this, like American rap songs, take into account experience, history, cultural language..... "From a ki to a G, it's all about money. 10-piece, 4-10, base pipe comes free.".... most people around the world would not be able to relate. Everyone has a story, and we're all so similar underneath it all.
As some have mentioned, RM has genius level IQ (which is how he's able to learn multiple languages on his own), so he tends towards deeper meanings to all their lyrics. Some do make references to Korean culture, though many do not. He does a great deal of reading, and many lyrics are based off of what he's read. Blood, Sweat, and Tears, for example, is based off the novel Demian, by Hermann Hesse (a story of innocence and giving in to temptation). Most, if not all, of the songs during that period are based off that novel, as well as themes of loss of childhood, and fears of impending adulthood. The Truth Untold is based off a story The City of Smeraldo (a story about love, loss, and enduring pain). The current album is strongly influenced by Carl Jung's map of the soul, and is like a giant love letter from BTS to ARMY.

Thank you for watching this. The guys from DKDKTV have several explanation videos if you are interested. BTS music always has a deeper meaning the what the appearance is on the surface, even when the 'language' seems clear. That is one of the things that attracts many new fans.... that they aren't just about the easy lyric options and don't go for the basic "just make it rhyme to be cute" path..... Thanks again!!!
hey! just here to say, don't get overwhelmed by the requests and demands. you do you. additionally, you should know that a lot of the lyric videos on TH-cam aren't that good. they have grammar and spelling mistakes making them hard to understand, they sometimes don't sync up with the beat of the song, and many of them tend to have translation inaccuracies as well. at the very least, they're almost always awkwardly worded. the ddaeng one you watched was one of the worst offenders, lol. so never hesitate to pause while listening!
also, I see people asking you to react to stuff like BTS Hardships, From Nobodies to Legends, etc etc. honestly I don't think you'd be too into that right now? if I feel your vibe right you're more interested in the music at this point and not their personal story. maybe I'm totally wrong! but if that's true, then it's TOTALLY fine and I think in order for you to enjoy yourself fully you should stay away from these requests for now. every other reactor does them anyway lol.
Yes. I love all of the request. I love music in general, so when I see people so passionate about BTS it makes me realize that there is a fandom for a lot of artists, even undiscovered ones. I may have accidentally opened my own mind up to discovering other countries who have a passion about their artist or artists when it comes to music. That's why I love music so much. Regardless of who you are, if you are passionate about something you love then you will always have at least one fan. at least on supporter. I agree with your comment, I would love to discover more artists that make great music . Hopefully my channel will shine some light on that!!
Will at the end that what BTS is trying to,right? They work hard to make people learn more about the culture of Korea + that’s why they don’t think about releasing a whole album in English too
I saw it from the opposite side, that they *are* Korean. Their deepest knowledge will be about their own language, history, culture, literature, & pop culture references. I don't really see them as making music specifically for an international audience, so why should they dilute the "Korean-ness"? Instead I think it is an international listener's responsibility to discover the meaning. I'm so thankful for those who translate their lyrics, but at the end of the day they are translations. More knowledge is always helpful.
sharron roe Basically they are saying “study Korean more because it’s fun and our culture is impressive so, why you can’t speak the language until now ?!” It’s just the same when English come a worldwide language and every one knows the culture of the Americans And if you can’t speak English you are totally a stupid person and like rm side “A frog in the whole”
@@hikarinotsuki6857 hmmm, idk if I agree with this last comment, but we enjoy their music either way, right? I enjoy the things I learn along the way while searching for understanding. 💜

Basically they are saying “study Korean more because it’s fun and our culture is impressive so, why you can’t speak the language until now ?!”
It’s just the same when English come a worldwide language and every one knows the culture of the Americans
And if you can’t speak English you are totally a stupid person and like rm side
“A frog in the whole”
@@hikarinotsuki6857 hmmm, idk if I agree with this last comment, but we enjoy their music either way, right? I enjoy the things I learn along the way while searching for understanding. 💜
We meager humans are just not on their level...RM is a genius lyricists. BTS rap is really smart rap. I love this!!
Hi. Watching your reactions from Pittsburgh. Not exactly from "around the world" but here I am. Where are YOU from?
Love your OUTRO:Tear remix btw 💜
Phoenix
Please react to BTS Outro-Tear. It's amazing. Also, if you want to check out an absolutely awesome KPop soloist, please react to Taemin. He's considered the Korean Michael Jackson as he is the best Kpop dancer out there. His movement flows like water. His best songs to react to: "Thirsty" (shows his phenomenal dancing skills), "Move", and "Want". Oh, "Danger" is also great!
"BTS Baepsae live in Japan "....and "Baepsae explained by a Korean "..All their songs don't need to be explained but some have Korean references lyrics don't fully explain
React to spring day explained
Please check out Dna by bts or spring day by bts
Reacting RM (joke) please

Cyphers1-4 and Mic Drop are diss tracks too

Suga - Agust D mixtape
RM - RM and Mono mixtape

Lyrical Genius, BTS rapline! They are our pride.
The production is also a diss to those who said BTS has become more westernised as they are using traditional Korean instruments
