You’re doing so well! You have such a positive outlook on your experience and it’s really lovely that you can share this with others😊 It’s inspiring and makes me feel like my dreams of going to Norway can be a reality if I want it too. There was very little of these types of exchange vlogs in Norway before your change so I am very grateful that you decided to make one. It was exactly what I needed! Sending love 💖 Have a great Christmas 🎄

Living with an exchange student, he's having a hard time with the darkness.
He had heard that it would get darker in the winter, but didn't think much of it. Says it's depressing and makes him feel sleepy.
Are you coping with the darkness?

I like how you are not scared to talk your goals. I am very shy and I do not tell my goals

Joseph, I hope that destroying shyness is a top goal. It is not something to simply overcome, but shyness is something to be actively defeated! Step by step goals can be achieved. After all, you are the best damn you the world will ever know, so you might as well shine like a lighthouse. 👍

i love watching your vlogs to see what it’s like as an american pov in a different country! i am trying to apply through afs for a year in germany next year, i just haven’t been able to get a hold of my specialist yet :/. but hearing your experiences about your time in norway has been really interesting and it’s part of what helped me decide to take an abroad year!

I am an old man of 68. Still I have enjoyed learning about your experiences with Norway, in particular Northen Norway, as I grew up in Harstad, just south of Finnsnes. I love hearing that you have had a pleasent four months in Finnsnes, and look forward to the rest of the stay. Maybe you can consider going to Harstad before leaving for America. I left Harstad at the age of 19, now living in Brønnøysund, in the very south of Northen Norway. Question: The videoes look very professional. Do you get help with editing all footage into the final product and adding music? I mean, you cannot spend too much time doing such activities?

Pleasant is probably not the right adjective, rather challenging, interesting and mind-blowing? For your Norwegian studies, here is a word to train proper Norwegian pronunciation: UKYNDIG. Test it with your schoolmates. If you manage that word, you have come a long way.😁

No, those dolls are NOT Norwegian "Santa Claus". Those are nisser (elves), Julenissen is a different figure (merged with Santa Claus). Nisser are a special kind of spirits you can read more about (nisser, alver, dverger, etc).

You should find a Norwegian podcast 👌 and watch movies and stuff in Norwegian. That's my favourite way of learning a new language. "hjem til jul" at Netflix is a new Norwegian Christmas show😊

I'm from Germany but you can't find any German exchange students on TH-cam so it's very nice to watch your videos to get to know this all a little better. I'm sorry for this long comment but I had to thank you for that. ❤️
