@@kevz3623 Actually today you can't tell if there is a cat or a resonators or a small muffler. People weld all king of crap on auto exhaust systems. Yea There small and yea some small cats don't even have 02's. There there for just clean up. Unless you know the system by the looking its easy to just guess. @@FixingWithPassion um you got mad cause he corrected you and you got rude. you can be a normal person and say, " oh i misspoke my bad". instead of being a defensive child. allso who tf cares what scotty said.
Thanks for this video , a person can apply this to other vehicles also which helps, at four year's learning, I'm still a beginner, takes time , patience, ...keep learning, with work experience I believe.
With the way the muffler rot out on those, it almost pays to spend the money and just get a stainless steel one so that you don't have to worry about it again.
Nathan Rohrbough thanks for the reply! I purchased the Navigator back in June 2000. It's got over 150,000 miles and still runs awesome. Never a rebuild, but I never used it for towing. It's 5.4 is very powerful. I really never had to do any major repairs through the years except for tires and because of it's age tire selection has become limited , so instead of going cheap I decided to go back to the original Continental brand. I also own two other Fords, a 2000 Mustang GT convertible and 2006 Ford e250 extended van. Both have the 4.6 motor which is also reliable. The only trouble I had was with the Mustangs plastic intake manifold leaking coolant from the cross over. I replaced it with a Ford performance intake that has a improved metal cross over. Thanks again Nathan ,for all you awesome videos!
@@FixingWithPassion Saw your heater core flush video, great video by the way! If nothing is blowing out of the back vents of minivan would heater core flush would solve it? Would you need to drain out the 5 reservoirs holding the coolant/antifreeze which three are located in front of the car (heat issues)?
I had the same issue with my Expedition. It's better to have a stainless steel one. But, this is very informative nonetheless. By the way,, it sounds great.
Nice job 👍🏻 I live just outside of Phila So I get it lol Mine seems to have rust up near where the ac would drip 💧... but as you see these baby’s last ! I follow a person who dropped a v8 in one pretty cool... And I actually seen on fb a guy selling one with a 454 lol that would be fun !!!
2002 LT trailblazer good vehicle or flawed vehicle with bad electrical system and inaccessible parts to repair like the water pump and theromstat and a 4wd thats not reliable ?
That is called a resonator.......this guy🤦🏻♂️
This comment....scotty says your stupid!

"No special tools needed". Breaks out a welder. XD
To all my haters...Its still quite today!! And still going!
Did it throw a CEL if you didn't install a new one. And kept it cut at the resonator?

Great video I hav a 05 trailblazer an did the same thing put a new exhaust on myself
Drop the transmission pan and change the filter.
Yea,
Once you started it, I heard the familiar 4.2 “knocking” sound that mine has.
Yea now and then i still hear that.
Great work.
Many many thanks
To prolong this, I spray the Muffler with Black 1200F Stove Paint. So far, it's been 2 years since we did it last, it's still doing really good!
Nice!
Nice video Nathan. My 1998 Navigator needs the same repair. I don't own a welder so I'm just going to use clamps. Thanks again for the video!
I like them Navigators I might get one for towing.

Is there another muffler behind (towards the rear) of that one? What is the one on the tail end?
Yea its called a resonator tho I cut mine off for some rumble but I have the V8 5.3L you don't really need it haha
I have 209K on the original one on my 2006 TB. I don't live in the rust belt area though..
Lucky you!!

😂😂😂man please don't do any thing by yourself ever again. I am glad you made it
Do you have to get a muffler that long or can you just put a regular muffler on it cause I'm fixing to have to change mine
You can but you may need some extra pipe.
Thanks NATHAN ROHRBOUGH,,I DON'T MIND TO GET A LITTLE MORE PIPE I JUST WANT a muffler with better flow.
Don't put a new muffler, straight pipe! Sounds good like a Toyota supra
Nice!!
