@@lavender8415 Hmmmm.... interesting but, as long as i could remember (before covid when i used to travel frequently), all eco seats were always full and the business stayed empty. Never in my life i got upgraded to business even when the seats were empty at front. But what i missed the most about flight regulation BeforeCovid was that, 20kg or 30kg luggage was Already included in the ticket price. Because since the end of 2022, they changed the regulation and we need to buy the luggage separately, and the luggage price is always 1:1 to the ticket pricing, so it's like buying 2 return tickets for one person.
My American Airlines flight upgraded me to first class and I didn’t have to do anything like he said in the video, just was an AAdvantage member on my first flight with them :) (Saying this to show it can happen, I guess if there’s no one of a higher status than you on the flight… it was domestic though so basically like premium or smth)
It works 100%. I registered with private jet website and told them I am interested. Now every-time I want to travel I just show up wearing nothing and they give me a free ride. This man is a genius.
I’ve flown economy all my life. If I ever get an upgrade, cool. If not, i don’t really care. I just wanna reach my destination safely. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters to me.
That is just sad, even as a child I saw after the first two times that economy sucked hard and to always go for business or first class after my parents upgraded at the gate as a surprise.
But it makes a HUGE difference if your trip takes 30 (or more) hours. I fly a lot between Japan and Brazil, and there's no direct flight so I need to take 2 or 3 flights to get to my destination. For instance, in December I will fly to Brazil to visit my family and I will firstly take a 12 hours flight to Dubai, then wait some hours in the airport and then finally take a 15 hours flight to Rio. It's insane how I get exhausted in Economy seats.
Upgrades go to high mileage members FIRST, IF they are available. Next group eligible for upgrades are those willing to pay for it (revenue upgrade). Many even leave them empty unless you are willing to pay.
I tried this and it works! I got head from the stewards and the pilot came out and saw how good I looked. He almost fell back when he saw me. He came up and asked me if I wanted to fly the plane. I said “Of course!”. Then when we landed, the airline had a local escort ready for me to take to my hotel. Would recommend 10/10
never in my life i could afford a business class. One day i was heading home with Emirates. It was a 9 hours flight. I was very happy that i found a discounted fare 2 weeks prior. At the gate my name was called up, went straight to the desk only to find out i’ve been upgraded to business class. I guess it was just my day 😊
That was to show you that you can manifest when you don't put a blockage or resistance or lack or limitation mindset. You can have a day like that every day using the law of attraction. Now that you know what it feels like take yourself back to how wonderful it felt and you will attract things like that more and more. It's all about the emotions which is energy in motion, when you shift into a higher frequency consistent mindset and consciously choose High vibrational thoughts, the universe must conspire to line up with you, because we are Just Energy frequency and vibration. I'm an intuitive and what that was telling me was that the Divine wants you to start manifesting better things and it wants you to start shifting your conscious thoughts..❤ the more you play with the universe, the more it shows up for you. It's just waiting for you to enjoy everything it's trying to offer you. The more you sit in the higher vibrational frequencies like this Joy gratefulness love and peace.... and create that within, it will show up easily and effortlessly
@@jenifernadeau dude im pretty sure the universe is conspiring AGAINST me because I tried crypto trading and I was like "yo ok this is ez, all coins are going up now, we're in a bull market" and somehow both the coins I bought went -80% less than 24 hours apart while all other coins doubled or tripled in price. so unfortunately it seems that for me, the mindset is irrelevant.

If i'm flying long haul I usually get some tasty treats from the departure country (not the standard duty free crap - proper local goodies) and hand them to the cabin crew. Sometimes they'll hook me up with some of the swag from first class, extra drinks on takeoff, or sometimes nothing. Either way it feels good to show them some appreciation!
as a bosnian who is traveling the typical "bosnian diaspora pilgrim path" from west germany down to bosnia which takes more than 15 hours means for me that a normal economy flight which is not even a non stop flight is already business class because i am used to have much worse travel conditions with car :'D
Bulkhead seats are usually reserved for infants and their family. If you only register the membership a few months before the flight that makes you a base member. Airlines calculate passenger value scores...so....base member means.... If you call and log whatever so called request, that would be in the reservations system (just a remark and doesn't mean anything )which crew wouldn't have access to. This is so silly and I can't believe I'm putting effort to leave a comment here 😂 From 10+ years airlines professional and former travel agent...
Many airlines now send emails to customers when economy class is oversold. This is an offer to upgrade for a fixed amount or to put in a bid. Often, this offer is made at check in too. Frequent fliers are also encouraged to redeem their points. This way, the airline can maximize their revenue before handing out freebees to frequent fliers based on their fares and tiers. A well dressed customer is quite low in the pecking order. Trust me, there is not a lot that these airline staff have not come across already.
I've been on flights with business class almost completely empty and they still didnt upgrade passengers for free. Why would they? It will cost them extra (tiny bit only) and all they do is depreciate the value of business class (paying triple and then sitting next to a clown who got upgraded for free).
Without doing anything whatsoever I have been invited to board business about 8 times over the past 6 yrs. Ii have no explanation for this. They have all been US to London flights on different airlines. Also some domestic. east coast to LA. I am minding my own business waiting to board economy and someone will approach and ask if I would like to be bumped up. I honestly think it’s just good luck. I do always dress very well to fly, probably more so than most around me but I’m not convinced that’s the reason. Perhaps my subconscious is willing it at this point. Lol.
@@MARCHHARE900 I once was offered to fly 1st class completely free at the airport by a company I didnt even book at. Got there for a 1-hour flight and they just ran around with free tickets in their hands seeing if anyone wanted them. And another time they called me to the front before boarding and offered me a private jet just because I was dressed so well. So i went from economy to my own airplane for that flight. Best flight ever because there was a cook on board preparing my food. Really!
I've only been upgraded once to Business class because of my Frequent flyer status. I was so impressed with the business class that I pay to travel in Business on all intercontinental routes. Free lounge access grants you all the food you can eat, free WiFi and a completely relaxed lounge experience. On domestic flights in the US, it's economy all the way. I generally use my frequent flyer status to access the business lounges stateside.
I got upgraded to business class once. The reason? I booked 2 one way tickets and i had found a huge discounted offer for the first leg to upgrade from economy to business. That was my second ever trip with the airline. On the leg bag they called my name and upgraded me to business. That was back in 2010 😅
I doubt that very much, it’s not up to the crew to upgrade, there isn’t much extra food onboard, business vs economy food, it isn’t possible to make bulkhead requests via the phone and then there is the pre calculated weight balancing. But the signing up it true, if the flight is overbooked, and few or no other members are onboard, you get the upgrade, that happened to a friend of mine.
I'm flying a ton, have the highest status and got upgraded to Business for free once, because the plane was overbooked. A business ticket costs 5x the amount of Economy, they don't give that away if they don't have to unfortunately. You also can't trick them by just sitting in Business, because they have an iPad and check each Business guest in manually :D
It takes a miracle, to get an upgrade. Leaving Bali, was delayed by 8 hrs, do to G20 and the arrival of airforce one. This meant an aircraft full, of tiered angry passengers, arrived in Singapore at 05:00am. Singapore airlines refused to give anybody available business class’s seats on other air carriers, not even the business class passengers from our flight. They tried to force everybody to stay over night at nasty hotel and fly on 24 hrs later on available economy seats, which several of us refused, so eventually flew via London and got home with 12 hour delay not the 30 they were offering us. So yes, they rather pay for a cheap hotel and a nasty meal, then upgrade anybody.
Oh! You can actually ask for an upgrade. I was a check in staff for Qatar Airways and sometimes I used upgrade passengers when they requested for an upgrade but they have to be nice and polite also well dressed. But we can only upgrade passengers when economic class is overbooked, we upgrade gold and silver members first then well dressed passengers, sometimes I upgraded nice and well behaved passengers if I like them even though their dressing is okay. Actually this what all check in staffs do. So there is nothing wrong with asking for an upgrade. You always ask, and if the economy class is overbooked we try to upgrade the passengers who requested for upgrade, once the frequent flyers are upgraded, but just remember to dress up well and be nice with the check in staff.
I can vouch for this. I am not an airline staff or crew but in summer I was upgraded from London to Doha not the next leg of my flight. It was amazing!!
I have flown overseas 8 times a year for the past 12 years and was only able to upgrade to Business class twice,,, using my air miles !! there's no such thing as a free upgrade! the only time I got a complimentary upgrade was when the airline forgot to provide me with the lounge voucher which I was entitled to being an Elite member and as an apology they upgraded my seat to business but only for the 2-hour flight, not for the 11-hour connection flight.
They do if economy is overbooked and business isn’t, whoever is the highest tier in economy will be upgraded first, at the gate. I was EK gold years ago and flying economy Jakarta to Dubai I was upgraded to business more times than I actually sat in economy on all the flights I took, as they always overbooked economy on that leg. So it can happen, but won’t happen to someone who isn’t platinum/gold already I highly doubt
I’m Emirates Gold, and have been upgraded multiple times from economy to biz, and biz to first on flights that are full / overbooked. Never gotten an upgrade on flights that have seats vacant.
@@jojovv5854it’s not a free upgrade, it’s a strategy the airline has, it overbooks economy and should everyone turn up they have no choice but to move select people up to the next class. BA do this as well in my experience as I was moved to business from economy the other week when the previously flight to the same destination was canceled. They haven’t purposely set out to provide free upgrades out of generosity, they have no choice but to move people. This has been known to go wrong when on busy flights every cabin class is overbooked and they’re asking people to stay over night in Dubai and get a coupon for a complimentary flight in future, in the case of emirates.
True! Do not ask for a business class, never, it's rude! And if they want to give you an up in business class say with polite "no thanks". But you have to be very polite...
Other than signing up for the loyalty programme and dressing well nothing else will help get a free upgrade. If you are not polite, basically rude chances of you getting bumped off becomes high. Emirates upgrade is based on the Ticket fare and higher tier Skywards membership nothing else unless you are extremely lucky
I have travelled more then 50 times and never asked for a business class, I have flown in economy class, but someday I wanna experience business class, so don't hate me if I ask for business class next time because I wanna experience it, we are just humans, and we want to experience nice things in life, maybe people joy few moments of joy after a busy, problematic and stressful life, so don't hate when people ask for it, because it's made for people...
This only works is you have a huge amount of miles ,the flight is overbooked in economy but there are still seats in business. As a cabin crew who worked for Qatar airways and Etihad , i can say that on board we have no power to upgrade passengers. Maybe in smaller airlines if you’re nice with the crew it might work, but generally your cabin crew are strictly not allowed to upgrade passengers.
I've taken eight flights this year. Six of them were completely booked. First class and business class were always booked up. You have a good idea if there's extra room on the plane.
Bulkhead seats are for passengers with disabilities (fused legs, service animals, etc). Please don't request these seats unless needed. If you take these seats and someone needs it, you could be moved to the back of the plane.
I was upgraded to first class because I was nice to the gentleman who drove me around in his little cart at DFW airport. We chatted for about an hour and when he took me to my gate, he talked to the gate agent who gave me the upgrade. I was surprised and had a great flight because of him!
Yeah….no This day & age (I’m 63) flights are packed. FF who have premium status always get the upgrade. oh by the way , when traveling….comfort is king. I agree, being nice and polite never hurts any chance for potential upgrade or perk like a free drink in coach.
I work on it currently, this asshat will inconvenience at least 5 ppl, and take time from ppl that could be tending to ASC crap like missconnections and such.. this is not the 50s the airline knows the fare WE all know..
Depends on airlines. Some airlines like Qatar (I am silver member) They do not offer upgrade even you dress to impress. Reason is simple. Most of their flight are full so they do not have space for free upgrade. For Cathay Pacific. It may work as I was being upgrade several time. I was silver member also and most people does not really pay for business class due to their high price on business.
Then don't try it, I'm Platinum now so don't need to do this but the first time I ever flew Business was literally from trying this out in 2017 and it worked, maybe it was dumb luck but I was a Blue member with zero miles at the time and had never gotten upgraded before that.
Emirates doesn't give complimentary upgrades for platinum either. If you're getting upgrades now it's because they are operational upgrades and you're at the top of the list after economy has been oversold.
@@Sergi.Galiano nonsense. Upgrading happens when flights are overbooked, it goes by status so platinum members first. And then simply by who paid the most for their ticket. It is a very transparent, clear and honest system. Nothing you do will influence it. (Years of platinum status here, plus multiple family members are pilots and cabin crew). -> if you just asked a random cabin crew member of an airliner they would have given you this exact answer.
In 2016, in a month I flight 4x with Qatar Airways (Jakarta-Doha, Doha-Copenghagen, Copenghagen-Doha, Doha-Jakarta). But yes, before that I registered in their website to be a member/frequent flyers. In my flight back to Jakarta, my seat was changed from economy to business class--for free. I didn't wear any good dress.. I just wear oveesized hoodie and jeans😂 but I guess that because I was a frequent flyers in a month.
Right, like they would give a no status person priority over one of their loyal Gold or higher - or whatever they call their levels - members. 30 years ago, perhaps?
Travelling alone on frequently overbooked flights overseas with an American passport has gotten me business class a few times. The latest flight where I got upgraded, I suspected I would be because they were very overbooked. This was in Kenya. I think the main thing is overbooked and lone traveller. You solve a problem.
I don't see why these tips will work I fly every month and never get a free upgrade. I did get once ages ago, but that was because the flight was overbooked and I checked in last minute at the counter. After that experience about 25 years ago, I never get an upgrade anymore, no matter what I do. I guess I just have to redeem my miles for an upgrade 😅
Dress well regardless. I am tired of seeing people dressed as if they were in the bed. I am not saying suit and tie all the time, but a nice shirt and decent jeans (without holes PLEASE) would be very helpful. Thank you!
actually, everytime my husband and I fly. we always dress business casual. why? because we are treated differently. just like how we are in line waiting to check in, they will open a window and call us to check in. sometimes, upgrades are easier too and there's an available seat but for others, its already full. they definitely treat people differently how they are dress. but do we assumed to get it for free? No. but we did experience to be upgraded in first class for free. How? being kind and charming takes you mostly everywhere. it's really up to the FA. if they like you and if their availability, they will upgrade you, and if they don't want you in their flight(like you are being difficult or rude) they can get you remove in the plane as well.
Jokes aside - worked without even trying. Just called the day before (I’m an airline member), bc there was an issue with online check in. When I arrived at the airport they upgraded me. Return flight just tried to call for some BS to see if it would work. I get to the counter and they guy tells me “if you change your outfit (was very casual) we can upgrade you”. No need for a suit, simple t-shirt and pants does it. Only works if you are alone
I’ll say one thing, but this is very old (pre 9/11) advice. Get there late. Be the last to board, be very polite and low key. I was given first class seating on almost every flight after I was late one flying from Paris to Boston. It was a genuine Oopsie, and I apologized profusely, they sat me in a relatively empty first class and said they’d move me later. Whey later came the attendant said “you’ve been very calm and quiet, if you’d like to stay just keep being you”. I got all the goodies too! It was very nice. I booked first class a couple times after that, I never fly first domestically, that’s silly, I mostly went from NYC to the Midwest and these are short trips, but anything overseas, more than 6 hours I’d shoot for first. And I started noticing that friendliness, plain old common decency really made a difference. I stopped booking first and would not be LATE LATE, but the last to board and I’d ask how their day was, and it was almost 100% success with getting seated up front. Since 9/11 it’s really hard to get there late or just walk on 😂 However, I have gotten seated up front for being helpful with other flyers and so long as you don’t expect it even getting seated up front a few times is a major coup! And always always show extreme gratitude!! Also, lay low, don’t be obnoxious about it. Stick with your fave airline too, they give lots of perks. Delta is my favorite domestically, Singapore is just perfect (and I’ve always paid for first with them) and Emirates is a crapshoot. But, so long as you don’t fly a crap airline you’ll have a decent seat and great service regardless. And if you don’t want to pay for first business is still a very nice boost from coach.
This can happen because not all business class flights are full, but economy class is overbooked, so airlines have to choose from all economy passengers who has more rights to be able to sit in business class.
I got upgraded many times to first class on the emirates A380, glad to hear that booking 9 full fare business class tickets per year and being a platinum card member had nothing to do with it.
Step 6 : if you are a person of African and Indian origin then forget any free upgrades because no matter what you do you will never get a free business class upgrade. This is the reality of life 🤷🏻♀️
@@Hari-kx2er I too recall, way back in the late 70s/ early 80s, a couple I knew - the man white/British and his wife Indian - I don't know which airline, but SHE got upgraded and he didn't! He told us the story, and he reckoned it was because she was from a wealthy/ high class Indian family, and it somehow transmitted the correct 'vibes' to the airline staff that her rightful place was NOT in Economy! HE was well-spoken and well-dressed, but was merely a builder's son...
I just like going to the desk at the gate and ask them to page my friend Harry Seaword. You either get that upgrade after the agent stops laugh. Or airport security comes and drags you off😂
While coming back to my country fro LA last time, while checking in I was wearing a pair of long shorts and had a t shirt on, my wife was also wearing casual clothes but she had an aircast on her right feet. I sat her at nearby bench and went to the desk alone, as we were qatar airways gold members, I went to the priority/business class desk even though our tickets were economy and they gave us qsuite upgrades. I was plesantly surprised and thanked the person at the desk. I thought she saw my wifes aircast but it turns out she didn’t. While in Doha, I thoght lets make it a full business class journey and went to the desk asked to be upgraded using points as we both had nearly 100,000 points each on our accounts and they upgraded us. They used points for only one of us and gave one upgrade for free. This business class upgrade thing happens randomly and it doesn’t matter how you are dressed.
I work for an Airline. Having booked ancillaries without paying them will prevent doing the Check-in and Airport Agents contact us to cancel the unpaid request to be able to print the boarding card. All of those steps do not make sense to me tbh.
When you get to your economy seat, just tip $100 for domestic flights and $500 for international flights to the flight attendant and she will move you to the 1st class. I did it all the times.
Being in the system in one way or another it the key part! Can confirm that. Also: You have to be alone and not book any extras like vegetarian meals or whatever. You can ask for an upgrade and give a reason (like “I have to finish some work during the flight”), but ALWAYS ask for a paid upgrade. You will be surprise about how cheap these can be at the gate, also you always decline it, but … guess what, you made it into their system as someone on the list for an upgrade.
First time flying with Emirates, UK to Bangkok in February got a free business class upgrade from dubai to Bangkok, my advice would always be board last as if the flights full you might get an upgrade, I did 😎
I got a first class upgrade when I first travelled alone with my GF. I was 19 and dressed with basic jeans and a T shirt. Lady in the front asked if we would like the upgrade to first class and I said no thank you thinking it was at a cost but she then clarified it was free. Only time it’s happened to me.
my mum actually went on business class almost for *free!!* Here's why: *so she was flying back home (singapore to Australia) and she was one of the last people to board the plane, but the surprise is that the plane was full! I mean that no more seats left (in economy) so the flight attendants asked her to sit in business class which were the only seats left. On the seven hour flight, she was enjoying business class* And fun fact: *she didn't pay that much, only the price of Enconmy class*
From experience, the best way to be upgraded is praying to the lord and being silver/gold (or the equivalent for your airline). It doesn’t normally work but once or twice a year you might get upgraded.

Best comment and 💯 agreed. It’s the safety
Step 1: Make a TH-cam video about it
Step 2: Use the ad revnue money towards business class
Upgrades go to high mileage members FIRST, IF they are available. Next group eligible for upgrades are those willing to pay for it (revenue upgrade). Many even leave them empty unless you are willing to pay.
Step 1
Be rich.
Step 2
Refer to step 1

That’s a minute of my life I am never getting back
as a bosnian who is traveling the typical "bosnian diaspora pilgrim path" from west germany down to bosnia which takes more than 15 hours means for me that a normal economy flight which is not even a non stop flight is already business class because i am used to have much worse travel conditions with car :'D
Why does it take so long ??
It used to work when the check-in people had control over the seat allocation, now every check-in is just a bag-drop service.
This is so silly and I can't believe I'm putting effort to leave a comment here 😂
From 10+ years airlines professional and former travel agent...

Lol.
This is called The Lord's Favour😊 surely you're a kind person
Nice!
Do you often fly solo?
absolute bullshit
Plot twist: None of this works 😅
Only long haul flights is matters , domestic flights upgrade is sucks
Emirates doesn’t do free upgrades or free loyalty member upgrades so this definitely is fake
Emirates r actually quite generous in giving free upgrades. The airlines that dont do as far as i know is singapore airlines
As someone who used to work for Emirates I can confirm this is not how you get upgrades.
THIS ACTUALLY WORKED! I got a business class upgrade. But when I woke up, I was still falling in line in the check in luggage.
The dress is so dreamy😍😍 they did such a great job✨✨
Other than signing up for the loyalty programme and dressing well nothing else will help get a free upgrade. If you are not polite, basically rude chances of you getting bumped off becomes high.
Emirates upgrade is based on the Ticket fare and higher tier Skywards membership nothing else unless you are extremely lucky
I do NOT have the courage to even ask for water
I used to work for this airline and we hate it when people open their mouth asking for upgrades cuz everyone does it
I have travelled more then 50 times and never asked for a business class, I have flown in economy class, but someday I wanna experience business class, so don't hate me if I ask for business class next time because I wanna experience it, we are just humans, and we want to experience nice things in life, maybe people joy few moments of joy after a busy, problematic and stressful life, so don't hate when people ask for it, because it's made for people...
If you can’t afford it stop trying to get it for free.
But not being able to afford it is precisely why someone would want to try it for free.
I was upgraded to first class because I was nice to the gentleman who drove me around in his little cart at DFW airport. We chatted for about an hour and when he took me to my gate, he talked to the gate agent who gave me the upgrade. I was surprised and had a great flight because of him!
Yeah….no
This day & age (I’m 63) flights are packed. FF who have premium status always get the upgrade. oh by the way , when traveling….comfort is king. I agree, being nice and polite never hurts any chance for potential upgrade or perk like a free drink in coach.
At this point I'd be grateful for any flight anywhere
What utter utter utter nonsense.
You’re welcome
Love from someone who’s worked in the industry for 30 years.
Now this is a real review!
What a load of BS. Don’t ever expect an upgrade unless you have platinum membership or have been gold for years.
Or just simply pay for business class. Lol
Then don't try it, I'm Platinum now so don't need to do this but the first time I ever flew Business was literally from trying this out in 2017 and it worked, maybe it was dumb luck but I was a Blue member with zero miles at the time and had never gotten upgraded before that.
Yeah you were lucky it happens sometimes
Guys this actually worked! I dressed to impress and followed all the steps and I was asked to leave the airport
Summarizing all the steps: buy yourself a first class or business ticket if you want to flight first/business class. Simple 😢
Travelling alone on frequently overbooked flights overseas with an American passport has gotten me business class a few times. The latest flight where I got upgraded, I suspected I would be because they were very overbooked. This was in Kenya. I think the main thing is overbooked and lone traveller. You solve a problem.
So there is also written business class on your ticket?
I don't see why these tips will work
I fly every month and never get a free upgrade. I did get once ages ago, but that was because the flight was overbooked and I checked in last minute at the counter. After that experience about 25 years ago, I never get an upgrade anymore, no matter what I do. I guess I just have to redeem my miles for an upgrade 😅
Only surefire way is to pay sir. You get what you pay for, as with most things in life!
Yes, they LOVE stopping the boarding line so that you can have a conversation about your miles.
They barely let you in, they don’t engage in any conversation because they have 200 passengers to deal with.
Sully suited n booted whilst seated in economy is crazy lol
How does one put in a request for a bulkhead seat without paying for it?
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Since 9/11 it’s really hard to get there late or just walk on 😂
However, I have gotten seated up front for being helpful with other flyers and so long as you don’t expect it even getting seated up front a few times is a major coup!
Well. You got your business ticket over there man 😂
Step 1 : work harder and earn more money
Step 2 : book the business class seat
You forgot the last most important step where you whip out your credit card and buy that upgrade to business class….😂😂😂😂
This is so dumb and untrue
This can happen because not all business class flights are full, but economy class is overbooked, so airlines have to choose from all economy passengers who has more rights to be able to sit in business class.
Airline staff wondering why idiots are calling them up asking about boolquehead, bilgehead, bolkhead seats.
Too funny 😂
I got upgraded many times to first class on the emirates A380, glad to hear that booking 9 full fare business class tickets per year and being a platinum card member had nothing to do with it.
Step 6 : if you are a person of African and Indian origin then forget any free upgrades because no matter what you do you will never get a free business class upgrade. This is the reality of life 🤷🏻♀️
Nah, I am an Indian and my friend who is also an Indian got free business class upgrades 2 or 3 times.

Dress to impress. I miss the days when people took pride before going out.
You still can, no one is stopping you lol
DRESS TO IMPRESS MENTIONED RAHHHHHH🗣🗣🗣🗣
Being in the system in one way or another it the key part! Can confirm that. Also: You have to be alone and not book any extras like vegetarian meals or whatever. You can ask for an upgrade and give a reason (like “I have to finish some work during the flight”), but ALWAYS ask for a paid upgrade. You will be surprise about how cheap these can be at the gate, also you always decline it, but … guess what, you made it into their system as someone on the list for an upgrade.
First time flying with Emirates, UK to Bangkok in February got a free business class upgrade from dubai to Bangkok, my advice would always be board last as if the flights full you might get an upgrade, I did 😎
Sorry but you’re wrong - it’s an automated system that does upgrades. Please stop presenting false information.
I got a first class upgrade when I first travelled alone with my GF. I was 19 and dressed with basic jeans and a T shirt. Lady in the front asked if we would like the upgrade to first class and I said no thank you thinking it was at a cost but she then clarified it was free. Only time it’s happened to me.
my mum actually went on business class almost for *free!!*
Here's why:
*so she was flying back home (singapore to Australia) and she was one of the last people to board the plane, but the surprise is that the plane was full! I mean that no more seats left (in economy) so the flight attendants asked her to sit in business class which were the only seats left. On the seven hour flight, she was enjoying business class*
And fun fact: *she didn't pay that much, only the price of Enconmy class*
From experience, the best way to be upgraded is praying to the lord and being silver/gold (or the equivalent for your airline). It doesn’t normally work but once or twice a year you might get upgraded.
