For me i don’t like the apps more than the books. I learn german by a book called “Wir Grundkurs Deutsch für junge lerner” . And i have an app called “Duolingo” its good for the new words and the grammar. But the book helps me more. If you want to learn any language just: 1- Learn all the letters and the basics words. 2-Download an app that will help you to practice your grammar and your knowledge of the language. 3-Buy a book or 2 books one for the grammar and one for the words and the sentences. 4-Try to watch a youtubers speak the language that you need to learn. And a cartoons with the subtitles. Dramas & Movies too. 5-You need to make like 2 hours in your day just for learning the language. So if you work hard you gonna be very good at it in just 6 months. 6-Be strong and don’t give up. If you set your goal, Just do it without laze or losing hope. And thank you for your videos its helped me alot 💕!

I am learning German and i prefer Duolingo. It's for free and it's very useful to read the comments under the sentences. There are lots of helpful people there, even natives, and they can explain the grammar and so on. :) I rewrite vocabulary from duolingo to Anki. Also it is great to watch movies or tv series on netflix (u can change the language there) or on orororo.tv. What i like in orororo is that when u dont understand one of the words u can track your mouse on it and there will be translation in your language above it. :D Netflix doesnt have that option but on the other hand in netflix u can change not only subtitles but also a dubbing.

I think Duolingo is really good for Italian grammar and it's free and Italian with Elisa online is great if you already know some Italian comes with a free ebook as well. I think babbel is a bit overrated as there are free apps like Memrise that are virtually the exact same
Actually I really feel that when I was learning French at babbel I learned a lot in not much time, bit with membrise I only learn some phrases and words, and not really like the structure of the language
I am glad to hear you like it, I have just subscribed for beginner level German on Babbel. German is so damned hard for an English speaker. I tried Duolingo, but since the update you have to do every lesson, and it is so dull. I use Duolingo for French (B2) and it makes me want to throw my iPad at the wall. You have to learn Duolingoese, because the English translations are very poor quality, sometimes the grammar is wrong, and they often use phrases that don’t sound right. Thus “séjour linguistique” is translated as “language study abroad” even though un séjour linguistique can be in ones own country ie not abroad. And for “inspiré par des faits réels” you must translate “fait” as “fact”, and “event” is marked wrong. And yet in my French, and my French-English dictionary, it can mean “event”. Hey, who cares about dictionaries, Duo is the language god.

I want learn portuguese also! @AlanaSoKawaii I don't think it's trash. I have learned English because of Duolingo and all of my English speaking friends that I am almost fluent in the language.
@AlanaSoKawaii If you don't like it then that is completely fine, but since I have no money I can't afford things like Babble. Having a FREE language app is really helpful and although you can't become fluent in a language by just doing Duolingo games you can become really proficient.
