Very nice potting bench luv. You have a natural skill for eyeing up pieces of wood and fitting them all together in your different woodwork projects in the allotment...well done.
I do love to watch you Sarah, there seems to be no end to your talents ! Everything is growing and now you build a work table, I am soooo impressed 🤗🤗 Thank you for all the great videos, I'm still trying to catch up 🙄 Much love and hugs 🥰🥰 xx
Hi Sarah You're so busy in your allotment. But I bet it's very satisfying 😅😅. The workbench is amazing and you can store things underneath it too. Plenty of strawberries. More next time. Give youself a rest now. 💞💯
Like how your potting bench has turned out so far. Everything is coming along well it looks. I did some painting in my bathroom yesterday and finished putting it back together today with our sea turtle stuff.
HI SARAH GOOD TO SEE YOU TODAY EVEN IF IT IS RAINING AND YOU GOT YOUR SUN FLOWER SEEDS PLANTED.I AM GLAD YOU HAVE A TENT TO GET OUT OF THE RAIN GOD BLESS YOU AND MIC. YOUR FRIEND JOSEPHINE
Hi Sarah. I love Mondays coz i now youre on to watch. Love your potting bench, youve done a great job on it. Youre such a lovely positive lady . Have a good week ahead xxx
I could not wait to see how you would build the potting table since you first mentioned you wanted to make one.. It's perfect for the space you have.Thank you for sharing. From Canada💕
Sarah this is such a smart idea for your pots. You are such a creative person that does amazing work. Your allotment looks great I look forward to every episode. Now I have to wait until next Monday to find out what’s next. Have a beautiful week ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜 If my body was not so arthritic I would probably try building one of these. My hands, arms legs just hurt so bad even with medication. I don’t use pain pills, but I do use acetaminophen arthritis pain relief over the counter.
It's always fun to see what you do and what a nice plot of land you have. It would be cool with some board under the table top. Then it becomes a good little shelf where you can put things, flowers, watering can etc. In addition, the fantastic table becomes even more stable.
Love your table. I have never directly planted broccoli and sprouts, I always started them indoors in a pot. I planted ginger it was slow to germinate but well worth the effort.
Sarah you are my inspiration...When I start procrastinating about going out to garden your videos can always get me motivated....your making such good progress.
Lovely garden bench Sarah. Very clever and it’s great that you’re recycling wood. Just be aware that ginger grows about 3-4ft high and will spread in a clump. Store bought ginger is sometimes sprayed with growth inhibitor to stop it growing before you buy it. That stops it from growing in the ground too. I’m in Australia though so I don’t know if that’s what happens in the UK. The garden is looking great. 😊
Why don't you get a couple of old photo album with plastic sleeves in and use that for your seeds, that way you can label the sleeves with tags to help you find them. Use one for vege and the other for flower.
maybe add some chives, onions / spring onions or another crop has bit strong cent and plant around your broccoli/sprouts, since herbs will not compete with the broccoli for nutrients and can even keep pests away with their aroma. For example, the annual herbs dill and basil, or onions, garlic and spring onions all make great neighbours for broccoli. a quick search Chamomile improves broccoli’s flavor when planted nearby. Nasturtium and geraniums repel all things that harm brassicas-cabbage worms and loopers among them-with their peppery, astringent scent, Onions give broccoli better flavor when they are grown near each other also meant to deter pests, Radishes don’t need much room to grown and they enjoy the cool shade that broccoli can provide, Rosemary and other aromatic herbs like dill, basil, and mint, deter cabbage flies from laying its eggs in broccoli crowns. adding these can help to protect sprouts and broccoli its not a 100% effective but it could be but it should sure help, just planting around the border of raised bed. just an idea if you have any seeds left i cannot see any harm planting some as i feel it should make some difference and some saying it could improve flavor of your main crop broccoli or sprouts so it seeds left over or you already have some you could move just a few over whats already growing. id say anything to keep pests away even if it a little as every little bit helps even if it keeps pest under control so manageable level for the plant to cope by attracting the good bugs to prey on pests. just an idea, as these crops can take some time so time you starting to see broccoli or spots the others should grown by then. my brother grew them years ago and the amount pests it attracted i not grown them since but now knowing few tricks what may help i will try again when i get an allotment plot, when my brother grew them they over run by Aphids and caused other plants to become victim but trying to confuse them with sent from other plants or a plant to attract them away so like a Nasturtium in pot a distance away from your crops they eat that than your crops in theory and when Nasturtium is full of pests compost it and plant another so have a rotation ready to plant. few ideas what may help, or the other option insect netting
@@sarahsallotmentjourney still learning but cannot wait to get my own plot. lots methods i think i try and see what works best for location. thought id give you a few ideas, maybe you already have some seeds or some already growing, but im not sure but ginger may do same effect as the garlic but hold me on that as even did a search and it something new so if it dose it can be added to list. thought i try give you few ideas so you get best out broccoli and sprouts as i know pests love them , but it may be an idea using a insect netting if you go that option put canes in the ground with bottles on then to hold up the netting and not to damage it
