By the way, Necromancers can easily cap resistances. 25% intrinsic armor on the amulet, 2 times 10% on the rings, about 20% on paragon boards and you have a total of 65%. The missing 55% you can get from having at least 2200 intelligence. If this is too much, just use the 3 times 6% from diamonds and you are missing only about 37% or 1480 intelligence.
Don’t forget that you can use juggernaut aspect until you get your gear rolled and master worked the way you want it. This season, defense should be easier to manage.
True, though It may be worth NOT min/maxing every aspect slot if you can’t survive the content you are farming. I know endgame it’s not optimal, but it’s an option to close the gap until you have what you need to boost damage that last bit once survivability is locked in.
Nice theory-crafting! Been hanging on the maxroll planner last night, trying to dodge all the redundant minion nodes (armor, resists, attack speed), while trying to fit in as many damage glyphs as we can. All the paragon glyphs that have a damage bonus effect for "you and your minions" can double--dip for minions. Spiked Armor skilltree passive was not increasing my armor number for some reason on the planner. Keep up the good stuff
Great guide on the next coming season for d4. I'm going barb first for easy boss killing with group and then def trying on necro in hc. Best of luck and happy belated bday man!
You can get 4626 armor from your armor pieces alone, Mastercrafting will not increase intrinsic values like armor. Every skull is 525, that is another 1575. Just try to get one greater affix armor roll on one armor piece, that's another 2437 armor (with Mastercrafting 12 without crits on armor) and you have 8638. Only 592 missing for armor cap. I will get about 230 from stats and the missing 360 from paragon nodes.
@@P4wnyhof I will use Juggernaut for leveling maybe. My level 35 and 55 gear will have primarily armor and resistance rolls and resistance temperings. The 925 gear will be different. Lots of intelligence, such that I don't need diamonds and one armor affix and no armor tempering and of course no Juggernaut.
I seriously think the total armor % is the best for use on chest. On helmet you use a unique/uber unique like deathless visage or shako and on amulet you can use the unique amulet for blood nova for example or the uber unique. You can also get it on the pants but sometimes you also wear a unique pants like temerity. So to be quick : this total armor % is the best to use on chest. I played sorceress since s1 and she doesn't need crazy armor because she 3 defensive skills : fire and ice shields and teleport. There is an aspect for the ice shield which gives you 30% more armor and makes you unstoppable. Teleport gives a barrier also. For the druid and barb you have fortification. Its a good thing in my opinion they gave us the possibility to increase our armor with a passive skill, same for movement speed even if they needed the gauntled to wake up ^^ As always very good video.
Barb from what I can tell if you get str rolls on everything and you do a normal paragon board you will hit armor cap even while using diamonds in jewelry but that is just hitting cap and having good gear.
From what I've seen taking total armor % doesn't make sense. With one master work you can get 2125 armor or 25.5% total armor. So if you have lets say 7000 base armor(probably you will have less) then 25.5% gives only 1785 armor which is less than 2125. I checked these on maxroll planner, maybe numbers will change.
@@P4wnyhof im confused. what is the point of armor if the stat description says it only wrks on enemies of the same lvl as your character (are rift not 125+?)
9230 or w.e thr armor cap is, is enougj armor for every level of enemy in the game even max pit you want to have your life up high and damage no cap on those depending on build summoner necro you want to obviously have your damage stats on your golem and minions @@bleachjeffrey
Can someone PLEASE answer the question of Armor cap on monsters above your level? Everyone keeps saying there is an armor cap, which is the 85% threshold displayed at level 100. But Armor specifically says, "Reduces Physical damages taken from enemies of equal Level by X%." That means Level 100. So, anyone over that, such as a Level 200 boss, is not "of equal Level" and would not reduce by 85%.
@@P4wnyhof Then, why does Armor reference "of equal Level" as criteria for the % damage reduction? A video on damage from Level 100 and Level 200 while at Armor cap and not would be dope. Verify the percentage reduction is consistent. Got any sway at Blizzard to tell them to change the wording?
OMFG I hate this game. If there is an armor cap, they should actually cap it and not let you get to say, 36k total. Resistances have a great way of showing this cap at 70%, not sure why they can't do this for armor.
How do you get strong without min maxing ? I have a bunch of 100s and none of them felt powerful. Yeah early game, open world, and same level monsters as me does feel pretty good but monsters higher level than me and it starts not being fun. It’s odd because the game should get easier as you go because you should be getting stronger. I think we need power that doesn’t come from gear just leveling up should feel good. Why don’t we have stat points that we get each level we can put them in strength, dex or whatever we want and feel good each time we level up. I guess in a way we do with our paragon board but that’s not making me feel stronger.
Summoner Necro is insanely powerful even without tempering. I was pushing NMD 20+ levels easy and with aspects constantly getting upgraded, the biggest issue early on is having enough gold to replace aspects as you level.
How is it difficult? You get armor cap at 100 and you're done. Armor "scales" only up to 100 with the new patch, once you reach max level the rating stops scaling. So once you hit 85% damage reduction from armor you are done. Simple???????
This game was sooooo disappointing. I am once again addicted to DIABLO 2. The greatest diablo game lol. 3 was great. 4 is trash. I got to lvl35 and stopped. Boring af. D2 rules!
It's too easy now, they're going to be dropping perfect gear all of the time, everyone will be maxed with armor. Everything will be an easy ride I'll be maxed gear in a few time.

Necro can always cap everything easy :) But not everyone is necro

Juggernaut is an option but most endgame build will not have the aspect slot open i recon :D

Do resistances scale with int on necro? I thought that was a sorcerer only thing.
Nope necro main stat too

Spot on - 9230 is the only amount you need!
you forgot that gems get updated with season 4. Skull now gives 525 armor

It might be better to roll a normal armor tempering over total armor %!
You should consider though, you can go higher even though it is capped. This is maybe a great improvement or equalizer.
That low armor cap is stupid af. Basically makes armor aspects useless and also more than maybe one roll.
Juggernaut!
Skulls gives 525 armor for season 4!
Many ways to be caped
And with 1600 Intelligence, no problem with resistance to

Did Blizzard explain on why they are having an armor cap?
One Set value = One Achievement = Then focus on other stuff - Simplifying designf or more fun
So what about barriers, or other aspects like dark shroud? Pointless?

exactly, why make it more difficult than it has to be.
His point is on how to max out the Armor in the most efficient method. There’s always opportunity cost.
