    This is a solid example of a backrooms video WITHOUT monsters. You have to provide SOMETHING for the audience to grasp onto, and I think the little twist at the end was perfect.

      twist?

    • @OscarSotoJr
      @OscarSotoJr ปีที่แล้ว +54

      @@Anikin3- I’d call it a twist for the protagonist at least. He just landed in this place, sees nothing, knows nothing, is barely there for an hour, and suddenly he comes upon a pile of missing persons photos, and one of them has his photo.
      Maybe not a twist, but definitely a reveal.

    • @umamifan
      @umamifan ปีที่แล้ว +16

      It'd need to subvert expectations for it to be a twist. But yeah, the reveal was, weird. Like, where did the poster come from? Why are the posters the same for multiple different people? Seems like a template the place latched onto to create for people it consumes into its endless labyrinth. Maybe it's intentionally created to make them go crazy. But who knows. Then there's also the possibility of time dilation. 1 minute in there could be 5 months in the actual reality.

    I liked the addition of running without a monster being present. If I were really stuck in a place like that, I most likely wouldn't be walking all leisurely and relaxed.

    • @youtuber-official
      @youtuber-official ปีที่แล้ว +36

      Chad Wilson: Well, can you tell us why should you run, if no one is even chasing you? Isn't it mindless to run if the place is peaceful? You will definitely have time to run when you really need to run. Until then, you can just calm down and explore the place at your leisure. Those brand new places you arrive at can be really interesting ones to explore, don't you think so?

    • @ChadWilson
      @ChadWilson ปีที่แล้ว +71

      @@youtuber-official, imagine that you just clipped into a reality you have never seen. The only noise you are hearing is your footsteps and the 60hz hum of lights. The air is stale. Maybe you walk around at first, curious, confused. Without any environmental clues, you lose track of time. You look at your phone, no signal, and it has been 4 hours! Your camera battery is beginning to die, because no VHS recorder from the 1990's was going to last longer than that. At what point do you think a small bit of anxiety or insanity might kick in? You turn a corner and find a furnished office, but no sign of people. You find a random couch. There is a TV with static. A library without books. A pool with seemingly no source, but is clean. You think you just heard someone? You run around the corner and the noise is gone. Your mind has begun to "hear voices" in the hum of the lights.
      And then you get hungry. And need to use the bathroom.
      Do you trust the water to drink?
      The realization will set in that you are going to die.

      The shock of falling through reality...
      Stress of an unknown possibly hostile environment...
      Being in 99% completely unprepared for the journey....
      No food, drink or viable place to sleep (that is not wet, filled with light and buzzing)..
      No company...
      Sensory deprivation (really its shapes of yellow and musty red)...
      And even if you have knowledge of the backrooms (which in the stories reality is unlikely) you know how fucked you are. Escaping level 0 is based mostly upon luck (as the exact parameters are unknown).
      And after level 1 it mostly just gets worse, few exceptions until (lucky are those who reach 4 or 11).
      Dunno man, not really a pleasant outlook into the future.

    Dude, this is incredible. Re-establishing the role of "the monster" as the warped architecture itself instead of humanoid abominations is a brilliant idea. Now that I think of it, seeing the spaghetti creatures in other known Backrooms videos are -relatively- a comfort. Also, assigning so called "levels" to these zones in order to catalogue them takes away from the otherwise inhumane terror of it, imho.
    Your character, on the other hand, faces pure eldritch horror, having been to shifted, non-Euclidian further reaches of Backrooms that even some unnamed researchers have been afraid to go into and left uncharted beyond a certain point.
    Keep up the good work!

    In my opinion, this is one of the best interpretations of what the backrooms were meant to be. An endless, unpredictable, and eerie set of rooms, hallways, complexes, and corridors. For example, there's the doors leading to more set of rooms, but by the time the protagonist opens the door the set of rooms has completely changed into a different area.
    Thinking that someone or something is out there with you, but you haven't encountered it, making you stay on guard until it eventually appears. However you don't know when or where the encounter takes place. I honestly think the absence of hostile monsters is as scary as the presence of them.
    I also like the weird, broken part of the backrooms at 9:27, it makes me feel uncanny. The 13:17 part is also fantastic! The room full of missing posters was a creepy touch to this normally empty maze. Then the protagonist comes across the missing poster about him. Realizing that he has become one of the many victims trapped within this labyrinth.

    I'm glad the person didn't talk beyond just yelling "Hello?!" because it allows the person viewing to be alone with their own thoughts if this was happening to them. All the whys and what is this questions just racing around in your mind are almost maddening. The elevator was great. Every time he entered an unlit area I felt a terrible sense of foreboding. I appreciate that there were no loud noises or over accentuated heavy breathing. Just the padding and urgency of the footsteps made it far more eerie. The feeling of _"what if I can't find my way out of here"_ was palpable as the person desperately looked for anomalies against the endless repetition of the interior structure that might indicate which way to go. The feeling that something _might_ jump out or be around the next corner was far more terrifying than actually seeing it; the subtlety of that had me hanging on every second of this 14 minute run through this surreal nightmare. Thank you!

    Dude. this is probably the best Back Rooms Experience I've seen so far. So many of them, while still decent, always have to have monsters show up and end with a monster chase sequence which kind of ruins what makes the whole thing un settling. The idea of being trapped in such a weird and twisted place completely alone, void of life, yet the place looks like some kind of human construct, but from a nightmare...that's terrifying. But then just having monsters that simply chase, attack, and kill...sure that would be scary if you were in that situation, but as a viewer, it's just not that scary.
    The idea of a rare monster being there is scary, so that you know you're not safe there. That's what makes this perfect. We all know there's monsters in the Backrooms and strange sounds and stuff. So the whole thing is scary because of the twisted design/layout. And I have to say as well, the designs of all these locations...brilliant. I could easily see myself having a dream about being here. Places that look almost like they're real but things are off just enough for it slowly settle in that you're in a nightmare. Go through doors or around corners and going back only find that everything has changed. You captured this perfectly.
    I'm gonna check out your other videos later. I don't want to watch right away because I don't want to actually have nightmares about this stuff, lol.

    I would love to see a game or movie with this. Each floor below holds more and more "dangers", possibly monsters. A group of people split up or stick together to find supplies to survive. For example -5th floor - endless products, but "someone" walks there, and this floor is dangerous. -10th floor - endless electronic accessories, but even more dangerous there.

  • @Omnipharius
    @Omnipharius 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I would get the hell out of that room because there is no tape, and that could mean that there is a reason for that. It would most likely mean that is it the most recent area of exploration from the people who put it there, meaning going the opposite direction of the arrows will lead to those that put it down. Bad situation to be in, but I think that would be the most likely avenue of survival.

    4:16 When they look up: I’ve been in a building that huge before, except it wasn’t a mall, it was a mix of museum/indoor university/office spaces. There was a section that was like a labyrinth and was part of the museum, meant for tourists. Also maybe a nature/zoo/conservatory part. The parts with a lot of people had families, students, workers, etc.; and I remember distinctly feeling like I needed to find a way out and be calm and not let people on to the fact that I knew I should find a way out… almost as if I had to believe I belonged, but I didn’t.
