    Thank you so much for this tutorial. There aren't much tutorials on mixed digital Collage, the renders with the realistic but at the same time the textural quality to it. Would love to see more tutorials like these. :)

    Wow i thought at the beginning that your results will be nothing like the 1st picture you showed despite knowing that you just show the work flow. But you taught me all the steps i wanted to know i used to see them in renders but didn't know how to make it like that. Thanks!

    Try not to be too enthusiastic :p
    Nice video. Many tutorials skip the noise and film parts and stick to paper overlay only, glad that you put enough focus on that.

    Good video, although I'm not sure the final result here falls under the type of digital collage championed by the likes of Fala Atelier, Point Supreme, Office KGDVS, early Kooz/Arch, etc - these all have a painterly quality to them (often due to literally using textures and cutouts from paintings) and often reject shadows completely.
    Although what's presented in this video still falls under the wider umbrella term of "post digital collage", I think this is more of a hybrid since you still used rendering engines in your process - something that the original intentions behind the style also rejected.
    I believe the whole point of this kind of image is to resort to a quick way of working which doesn't need renders at all. If needed, shadows and highlights can be added in Photoshop (on their own layers either as a mask, or painted over with a brush). I say if needed since traditionally, this type of image is often quite flat (due to rejecting shadows outright as mentioned earlier).

      Completely agree with this comment. One of the primary arguments for collages are a rejection for the traditional rendering style of 3D/photorealistic rendering, as well as the other points OP mentioned. I’ve thought about this a lot lately. The video does go into explaining the type of rendering this will be but yea for sure this isn’t true collage spirit.

      I stand corrected. Sure this is not a pure 'post-digital collage'. It's definitely a MIXED collage (I've changed the title). I come from a 'photo-realistic' background and I' not a fan of PURE post-digital collages. I find them too flat and too boring. Although I will do a video on it soon.

    Hi. Thankyou for this informative video. Earlier when i tried exporting the image files from sketchup and enscape and then tried layering them one above the other , I found the image sizes and proportions to be different... they just didn't seem to layer properly. It woulfd be or great help if you made a tutorial showing how to export raw render ID images and sketchup images that match in sizes and overlay properly thankyou.

      Sure, I will. I'm back to TH-cam in September. For now though. There is a button in the Enscape bar that looks like two arrows pointing in opposite directions. What this does, is it matches Enscape view to your SketchUp view. This should solve your first issue. In terms of different sizes. When you export SketchUp image, go to Options (Next to the image type you export) and copy image dimensions. Then when you go to export Enscape go to settings and put those SketchUp dimms into Enscape and that should match Everything.

    did u get into Bartlett eventually?

    • @lets_architecture
      @lets_architecture  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, so YES and NO. I did get an interview, during which I've realised that it's not a good match for me. Bartlett is too conceptual and theoretical for my taste, I prefer a more building-oriented course. Hence I went to the CASS (London Metropolitan University) and I LOVE it there! The architectural school extremely underrated, especially postgrad. So all in all I'm very happy )

    Your thumbnail background photo is misleading. I thought you were going to make the exact same image. The tutorial is still good tho. Please otherwise just take this as a constructive comment.

      The 1440p version is being processed right now. Hopefully, it shouldn't take too long. In the future, I'll wait until the video is fully processed before publishing it.
