My issue isnt with the premise that Project 2025 advocates for a policy related to cutting social security. It's with the OP's irrational claim that Trump's policy of 'no tax on social security' is in anyway related to it.

Social security shouldn’t be taxed anyway.
It’s money citizens pay into a government program, then is paid out as part of retirement (or disability, etc. it’s government money. That is usually not taxed.

It took me 3 weeks to read Project 2025 .
In the labor section talking about no tax on tips and overtime , it is not for the employees benefit , it is for the employers benefit....
What it does is... it allows the employer to pick a 2-week block or 4 week block....
So let's take the two week block....
...and your employer works you 60 hours the first week, And the second week only works you for 20 hours.... That still falls under a 40-hour work week in a 2-week period, therefore they can pick and choose whether to pay you overtime for the 20 in the 1st week.
If they decide to go with the 4-week block....
They can have you work 160 hours however they want you to.... But you don't get paid for overtime until you go over the 160 hours in the 4 week period
As far as the tip section goes it allows hedge fund managers to change the income from salary to tips, And they wouldn't have to claim it on their taxes

Right NOW it is illegal, but it won't be when an executive order is signed to change the current overtime laws. They're changing the definition of overtime. Instead of 40 hours per week, they're planning to make overtime anything over 160 hrs every 4 weeks. So you can work 70 hours in weeks 1 and 2, and then 20 hours in weeks 3 and 4.... No overtime paid. You really should look up their plan to change overtime. You really need to research this

But...and tell me if I'm wrong...a person's tax bracket is still going to be their tax bracket. So, if the taxes aren't coming out in the paychecks, they will still be due at tax time in January. Because that's what happened with me while he was in office. Yes, my paycheck was higher because less taxes were coming out. But when I went to get my taxes done in January, I OWED. Because I hadn't 'paid' my share for my tax bracket throughout the year. So, I had this big tax bill, when in previous years (in the same tax bracket) I always got a little something back. Will people not just find themselves in the same dilemma? Like, it SOUNDS like a nice deal, but on the back end the worker gets screwed by the IRS anyway.

you're missing the point. No tax on tips and overtime is a gift to corporations because they won't have to pay their statutory contributions to social security and medicare on tips and overtime...not taxable income. Won't they all be surprised when they go to retire and find out they will collect the bare minimum based on the $2.13 per hour that they paid in on. Same with police and others whose retirement benefits are based on their high three years of taxable income. Another example of getting people to vote against their own interests.

Most people who get tips dont even make enough to pay taxes. SS is only taxed if you get more than 25k & you have other money coming in. Why wouldn't OT be taxed the same as all other income?? None of his proposals make any sense & and won't save $$ for the middle class working american. Its all about creating loopholes for the wealthy so they can avoid paying taxes. If they dont want to pay taxes, fine, but then they should have to build their own roads, sewage systems, post offices, power supplies, national defense, safety net programs, etc.

As a union worker and a Never Trump guy and proud Kamala supporter; what is wrong with providing someone else a job instead of providing overtime hours?
The point is it's against the law for those with work contracts. Breaking a contract is still against the rules!
You might not be using your resources effectively. If you are putting on new people so you don't have to pay experienced people mpre then you will lower productivity. If you have a loyal staff member who never gets overtime and is barely making ends meet then they'll be resentful, unproductive and look for work elsewhere. People should be rewarded for good and hard work in a successful business. Those new people they bring on probably aren't going to work enough hours to make a living either.

I want to make a wage I can survive on on a simple full time job without overtime, and would prefer higher wages over more hours. Unionize. Fight for a wage increase for both you and the other guy they hire to avoid paying you overtime. Workers, united, have the power.

Most of the Union trade workers are very male chauvinistic, reasonably smart in their field of work but are dumb enough to not think past their own male attitude towards women that they don’t realize they are hurting themselves but blame women on a lot of things. I can say this because I was a female office manager of 26 electricians to know what I am talking about. The smart electricians knew to stay out of the union mindset and focus of finding a great contractor to work for while the male chauvinistic ones didn’t last long, blame everyone for their short comings and go union because they accept pretty much anyone. So it’s not a surprise to me to hear the polls on a male presidential candidate admitting he hates unions doing better while the female presidential candidate shows support but it’s a “she” and not Biden that dropped in the polls.

In the debate, the pivotal moment for me was when Walz told the story of his son in a school shooting and that, ignorantly, Vance exclaimed that he, himself, didn't know anything about Walz's personal involvement in the "school shooter" debate. Way to prepare for a debate JD (obvious sarcasm).

I am Canadian but have lived in Europe for 40 years, mainly in Spain. The American concept of "democracy" inside America is entirely compromised by the "political contribution" programs that allow corporate America to choose one way or the other. .002% of corporate America controls both the Democrats and the Republicans. My problem with this debate is how the debate is described as a tie or sometimes as a win for Vance.
I can't stand it because Vance lied just as much and as obviously as Trump always does. But he wasn't unhinged, he was articulate and overall polite to Walz. And being "normal" cleared the bar for him to be tied or winning in some people's minds.
Walz was cornered once on the Tiananmen question. Because he was wrong or possibly lied about one important but irrelevant event decades ago. In comparison, Vance lied about something very consequential just days ago. And reiterated the lie over and over, even as his lie was debunked multiple times and also triggered bomb threats in the impacted community. And he blatantly lied multiple times about other subjects in this very debate.
But apparently, many people don't care about the substance of the debate. They only judge by attitudes, and _not_ being a lunatic rambling about crowd sizes is enough to clear the bar.
The standards for politics in the "greatest country on Earth" are so very low.
But we can't expect anything else in a country where lying has been consecrated as a valid political strategy multiple times, by the SCOTUS and ultimately by the voters.
Reality doesn't matter in this context. Narratives do.

To summarize, Vance, needs to speak more from the heart. Currently his inability to say anything from the heart is because he uses calculation, analyses his answers, dishonest, not feeling his strenght, not feeling his connection to life, polished, perfectly said, detailed, composed, unrattled.

The people that thought Vance won the debate were voting for style over substance. Sure, Vance delivered his messages with a bit more smoothness than Walz. Problem is, Vance was LYING the whole time.
