It’s pretty funny- you have a singer better than Axl, and the balls to play Matt Sorum’s calling card beat, and you blow the intro. The lead guitarist is over playing through the song and doesn’t play the solo like Slash at all. Don’t give me “he plays his own style”. He didn’t bother to learn it and had a couple of weird licks in the main solo. Playing in a gnr cover band is no cake walk no matter how many guitar center MIT types say it’s easy. The bassist has potential. The Izzy/Gilby guy is good. Steve is allowed to fuck up and that singer can do no wrong. But this wasn’t as good as the comments suggest. Close though!

Ariel Kamin is amazing clone of one the most unique voices of all time. I thought Axl's voice was impossible if not very difficult to replicate but this guy makes it happen! The band sounds great! I'm happy for Steven. Rock on!

GnR actually played this song live while Steven was in the band. A studio version didn't get released until after he was fired. Matt Sorum pretty much played the same thing that Steven had been doing live. So it's really Steven covering Matt who had actually covered Steven.
Take THAT, rest of GNR! A real shame that Steven is not given the respect he deserves from his former bandmates. That smile on Steven's face is wonderful to see.

Seems like GNR cares not a bit about him, and the fact that he is alive and doing well, whereas his fans are so happy for his success at beating drugs and excess drinking.

First, Frank has been the drummer for longer than anyone and Axl wouldn't kick him out - this wasn't a "reunion" in that sense, Slash and Duff ended up going to GnR when there were available slots for bass and guitar. Second, every time there's been an opportunity for some sort of reunion (e.g. Hall of Fame induction, and the 2016 reunion) Steven has started talking shit to the media about Axl. He's not really done himself any favours in that regard. Third, the GnR schedule is brutal. They're playing 3+ hour shows with a lot of travel for extended periods. There are genuine concerns about whether Steven could do that given his health. As far as I'm aware, his playing these days is generally shorter shows and smaller tours. And let's not forget that a lot of the songs in their set list are more demanding than what he'd have played on AfD. He's a key part of their early sound and I much prefer Steven's playing to Frank's, but honestly I'm not convinced he could play these sets at 3+ hours night after night after night.
