Singer sounds about as much as a young Axl as anyone else could and regarding Adler you are so correct, i missed his swing so much after Sorum took over, i remember listening to Civil war when it came out which was the only song that Adler played on on the Use you illusion albums and comparing it to the other songs, it was a world of difference in the drums.
I love GNR but their time has come and gone. Their music style was a time period in music history. Their fan base still cares which is still strong but not even Metallica has the reach it use to have with it's current album. It's just old timers now who still love old music. Yes you're that old.

We opened for Adler's appetite two times in Las Vegas and I can tell you not only does he and his band kick ass… he himself was so nice and so generous. Even inviting me up to sing with his band.

Yes, he plays for the song. Drummers that can do that make a difference. Matt (1 fill) Sorums playing i didn't enjoy but Frank Ferrers a good fit. Great player.
Adler's drumming was truly perfect on Appetite. He could have been more technical, but it wasn't what the songs needed. He's up there with Ringo. Their drumming served the songs perfectly. He's in the hall of fame of drummers who played on Worldwide famous songs and did it perfectly. I can bluff my way around a kit but the difference between me and Adler is that I'm not a good enough drummer to have came up with those parts in the first place.

Steven never should have been fired. Saw gnr live opening up for maiden when no one knew who they are. Gnr was amazing with Adler. Never the same without him.

I got to meet Steven at a parking lot right before a show. He just gravitated towards me like we were old friends. Security kept trying to get him off me lol. I ended up stuck with all of them and nearly was led to stage as they thought I was with the crew. I wimped out last second and confessed I wasn't with them.
SO HAPPY!! Ashamed as i was with Axls and Slash new group making GnRs versions, FINALLY i found out where GUNS AND ROSES were still alive and kicking well!!! THANKS STEVEN. TO me after this YOU are the only , very ONLY GUNS AND ROSES . THANK YOU!
I have never heard a Singer emulate axl rose without sounding like a boy that just started puberty , but this guy nailed it, I don't think people realize how hard for axl to sing the way the does at keep it consistent that trade mark high end tone with the grittiness behind it , this guy is awesome extremely difficult for any singer do that for 2 hour show axl is is one of the most unique singer in Rock music history
Exactly! And now he’s got 40 years of that singing stacked on his vocal chords, and they’re comparing him to a guy thirty years his junior. Not a fair comparison. But I did hear some recent GnR’s live stuff and you can tell AR has been working hard on his vocals again. He’s sounding better than he did a few years ago. I’ll be seeing them live in a couple of weeks at Power Trip so I’ll be able to judge for myself. Either way though it’s still going to be a great show! And Tool ending it will be freaking awesome!!
Saw them at a Casino outside Pittsburg, Kansas in August of 2020. Only about 100 people (if that!), but they rocked the place and drew people in from the gambling tables. Steven looked really good and his band was surprisingly good.
I seen this band in 2022 and was blown away .It was so much fun and they sounded incredible!!!! Im so happy Steven Adler got this group of stellar musicians together. I can't wait for them to come back to the Boston area again. (Bonus...I got there early and was able to get an autographed drum stick )
When Guns N' Roses play Welcome to the Jungle without Steven they sound like a cover band. When Steven plays GNR songs with anybody it sounds *EXACTLY* like Guns N Roses.
