This story takes places many years before the games, and is depicting a much younger Geralt.

Based on the short story, "The Lesser Evil", from the book, "The Last Wish" by Andrzej Sapkowski.
This movie was made primarily by one person, but thanks a lot to the three co-writers and the tiny cast and crew on the set to make this little film possible.
The music is borrowed straight from the famous video games.
The movie was shot on location at The Medieval Centre, Denmark.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. The film location was wonderful for the telling of this story.

The dude who plays Geralt did a nice job. He just needed two swords.

I think it shows both his swords in the inn at the beginning. It is either in this or in the shorter one that shows him and Renfri in something they didn't use. But he knew he was going up against humans, he wouldn't bring two swords in with him. I don't think he ever does except when he travels, it would be a burden in a fight and he usually knows the target he is going up against.
I'm glad you made this, as this is often referred to in the game but never really explained why. This was one of my favorite stories in the book because he's tried to do the right thing twice and gets no credit for it twice, once with the Foglet then again with the town. Even if they weren't going to attack the town Shrike and her gang were wanted criminals and it's easy to say you weren't going to do it when your whole gang is already dead. My only criticism of the actual production, other than what hasn't already been mentioned, would be I never pictured Geralt's sword as that big. It was a one-handed longsword instead of a two-handed claymore.

For being made by such a small cast this is a very decent short :D if I were to point any flaw that would be the acting of the bad guys when the fight started. They didn't look like people do when they are fighting to the death but I can suppose this is normal for an amateur cast.
Well done adapting one of Geralt's best stories to the movie format :)

Rune Kreim Larsen indeed :) all the books some years ago except for Lady of the Lake (can't find part 1 anywhere😢) and I'm re-reading them now :D just read "The Lesser Evil" and that's why I've looked for adaptations :)
Nice. I think the problem is, that the last two novels are not officially translated to English yet. I ran into the same problem, when I read all the books two years ago. I had read the first two books and then the three books about Ciri, and only afterwards I realized that there where yet two more book so I couldn't get the ending.

Hehe, fun fact: it's is actually a guy from the museum who was kicking us out, because we were only allowed to film from 6-10 AM (outside of opening hours). That is why the last part of the fight takes place somewhere different ;-) But I left the guy in the shot, because I like the way he grabs his head, like: "Jesus, what the hell is going on here with all this killing". That was the point, but I see that is not how everyone interpret it :-P

Areotan Harver in books was no word and no picture of that scar. And that story what said Geralt to Ciri in W3, well, if you read books, you shoul know that is no true :) . Because: Geralt had clean (no scars) face until his "close to die" in Rivia. And later are PC Games in which we can see everyone Geralt's step. Well, he stoped time, teleported to Spalla, took scar, teleported back to Kaer Morhen in W1 ? try think about it..
