    $7.50 an hour + you get to do arts and crafts, drive cool toys, play in manure, have alot of girls around you (4 legged ones) and you get random chocolate milk. Now that is heaven!

      @@Michael-8903 😁 A little yelling is not so bad now, if it's directed at things and not people e.g. if you walk into the house with manure-caked boots, I think it's perfectly okay to yell at your feet. 🙃

    File the ends of the all thread rod, it makes them less likely to cut you and makes it easy to get the nut on. Some people use the side of the grinder wheel, but on a cut off wheel it thins the sides too much and makes the disc more likely to come apart on you.

    Fast nut tightening, take your drill with whatever you have in it, take a short piece of pool noodle or old pipe insulation and rubberband or tape it around bit. Make sure its tight around bit and can turn in drill. Run that against the nut and it will tighten or loosen fast just reversing direction. Hope that helps next time.

    That is a lot easier to do. Put the treaded rod in your drill and put the nuts in the visegrip. 2 seconds - they just fly on the rod

    • @suprvideo
      @suprvideo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think he's trying to avoid damaging the threads. Putting the rod in a drill might damage the threads and make it harder to thread the nut back on. You can see where he initially removed the nut after cutting the rod there was some resistance as the nut was re-grooving the threads along the cut edge.

    I know you probably have a mill file. That would clean the burr off those threaded rod and you’d not have to waste time screwing on the nuts. I made 36 24” rods for holding my welding table tight while welding. I too, did not want to have to thread on soo many nuts….mill file for about 4 strokes on the burr and good to go….thanks for all your hard work and time and love to your animals.

    I still think u could still build 1 or 2 big silos and save in long run vs messing with bunkers. No plastic waste, dont need to shave pile. Less spoilage. Not weather dependent.
    Yes takes longer to fill during harvest but u already do that for the silos u have...

    • @10thgenerationdairyman61
      @10thgenerationdairyman61  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Everything has its posatives and negatives. I see the argument for big silos but I get really tired of dealing with our uprights. Unloaders always giving trouble at inconvenient times and slow feed out. Also a pain to get started after harvest especially with silage gases.

    • @crazyhass84
      @crazyhass84 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@10thgenerationdairyman61 very true. Bunkers alway work. If skid loader or other equipment breaks u can get a replacement fast if needed. If silo unloader has issues u r stuck waiting for repair or hrs trying to fix it. Even worse dig the sileage by hand to feed cows. Omg i dug sileage by hand 1000s of times growing up on farm. Just a desk jockey now,lol.
