the final boss of the first game AND the second game being used as the first boss to show that things are different this time around was SUCH a good decision
There’s so many things that can go wrong with such a trope but they did it so Damn well and I love that. Octavio is the perfect kinda character to be brought back as a first boss considering his personality and genuine reason for being weaker this time (not having the Zapfish)

@@momma_bal oh yeah and I am guessing from looks of it he just removed the top off of it and just used sheets of steel to make a cover… Or the top gets destroyed from so many boss fights so he just decided to go simple with a 1 layer metal cover
i love the fact that dj octavio is following the chaos theme and is wearing a mining helmet shaped as his old samurai helmet also having a brownish blackish mech instead of the colorful dj stage robot thing
I won't lie, I really liked this battle. It was really easy so you really get to appreciate the little nuances in the fight. Like those silly noises smallfry makes when he is thrown into the vacuum, or the animations the octobot makes when it jumps to a new position
I love how after the fight ends and you realise Octavio isn’t the bad this time the game immediately shifts tones and sends you to Alterna a complete change of environment.
He was the first boss in Super Mario DS. Partially revived as Dry Bowser in World 4, fully revived in World 8 to fight alongside Bowser Jr. Also as a tutorial boss in a lot of the “Mario & Luigi” games. Easy, but still possible to lose.
Im talking about a mainline mario game that pulls a story twist on us by having is defeat bowser and rescue peach near the beginning with a new story after that.
I'm seeing this a lot in octavio's boss fight people avoiding the hand before it slams, you can hitt it before it lands that's why i never knew it had a sound wave attack
To be fair, Octavio’s first boss fight wasn’t a “center ring” fight like in the second and third games. You had to push him backward through a long trail of previous stage gimmicks. That takes longer to adjust to.
Cool boss fight and all, the concept’s really neat, but if you don’t use Splashdown everytime Octavio comes out, then you’re arguably playing the game incorrectly.
Could be biofuel. Not all combustable material comes from aeons-old flora and fauna. But whatever it is… it’s not electricity. Not nearly as much, anyway.
@@CRCADAN Zapfish provide electricity. No doubt Octavio has a lil zapfish chilling in his mech to power the electronics tho. But for the rockets, yeah that’s absolutely fuel coming outta those thrusters

Mostly a downgrade but the legs are the only upgrade, if they add anything
it’s taken such a beating it probably can’t float and so he made legs to keep it up

The fact that DJ Octavio has his music blasting means he does not care about stealth. He *wants* you to know hes coming.
And he wants to make a epic entrance while he's at it.
