@@TaraRyze I came from lower corner of Alabama. Atlanta would have been a 4 hour drive but their tickets were too high for that venue. Tampa was 6 hours from where I live so I got an Airbnb for the night. Wasn't a bad trip, my daughter had introduced me to ST last year and she's never been to a concert, so I REALLY wanted to take her to see them before she goes into the Air Force this summer. My husband, daughter and nephew all came (even though my husband isn't a fan 😭) and we enjoyed the road trip. ST was so good and worth the drive! It was going to be a drive either way because no bands really come to AL 😕

Man I can’t wait for you guys to get into the albums. Loving the dive into the lyrics and also paying attention to the way the music is written to compliment the lyrics.
For me this song lore wise has always been Vessel talking about early on in his dreams where he meets sleep, each one is something he waits for but also he's uncertain if they're what he needs and he's asking out to see if Sleep is there for him too.
The ending is so beautiful, it’s him at his most vulnerable. But sad too.

This is my favorite song off of Two and I could not wait for you guys to get to it! Major props for almost a 30-minute video, this is exactly what a song like this needs to be dissected properly, and there are still questions!

Loving the analysis guys! When you go through their catalog, you'll see Vessel has a fetish for biting, writes about teeth, a lot, "make me bleed", and they even have a song titled after the fetish if being eaten 😅 ..... Kinky stuff LMAO 🤣. But y'all are good sounding off each other's theories. The beauty of Vessel's lyrics is that so many people are touched and can relate to them with their own experiences. The genius of his lyrics and music is the emotions he can convey that most people don't know how to articulate. I saw them last week in Tampa and i still pinch myself and have to watch my videos of the concert (Ritual) to know I actually got to see them live. It was surreal!

Only thing I’ll say is, don’t forget that sometimes vessel sings from the perspective of sleep. Sometimes he even switches perspective back and forth within the same song. It’s not always obvious though.

He sounds so much like late 80’s early 90’s r&b like for instance his voice sounds like one of the guys from B2M.
Just to be clear, the sleep deity is a metaphor for the person he was in a relationship with. You’re not wrong for thinking this music is about a relationship. It’s just a story told through a dark and beautiful series of metaphor.
"We are here to serve Sleep and project His message." is what vessel answered when asked to talk about the band's lore. Vessel encountered Sleep in a dream, Sleep promised him glory and magnificence if he follows Sleep. Each song created is a "Token" (An offering) to the deity known as Sleep.
Considering the sleep diety that appeared to him in a dream was a male…I would say this is about his ex. Also don’t forget I’m the summoning he says I’ve turned my walls to gold to bring you home again. . He knows he put in the work and at that point he feels his hands are finally worthy.
Jericho is so beautifully written and composed, I love this side of Vessel vocally, his fascetto gives me the chills. As always I love to hear your thoughts and opinions. Glad you guys are having a blast on this journey, I'm totally here for it 🫶🏻 WORSHIP

I honestly think he was separated from/broke up with the person he loved and he dreamt of and feels like sometimes he can only connect with her in his dreams and this is his way of expressing that and he has decided to continue sharing that story. it is very relatable for so many people. I am not sure about the lore thing I think that is a cool selling point too but yeh just my take.. they have become my fav band for sure

Let’s be fr. None of this is about dreams this whole song is about sex. It’s basically back before all the trauma where him and her slept together. Examples:
“You taste like new flesh” is metaphorical like when guys say they want to “taste” a woman, and the fact that she’s “new” means that he hasn’t done this with her before.
“Fold secrets in the sweat, like I swallow years beneath this bed.” Is basically saying “I want this sex to make me forget the years of pain that the bed were in used to represent.” The pain is what he’s swallowing here.
“Until I wake I dine on old encounters.” Means that “when we’re apart I’m still dreaming of the past times we slept together.” Which is why he says “There’s something in the way you lay.” Basically saying that something about her is different than anyone else he’s been with.
Edit: Also, “My hands are not worthy.” Probably means the same thing as “I don’t deserve you.” Here.
