High Water is my favorite Sleep Token song ever. Honestly maybe, my favorite song EVER. Like of all songs. I could go through the thousands of reasons why, but I wont.
@UncleTrebor i feel like the emotion is portrayed perfectly through out the song. And I never heard a drum solo portray as much emotion as in this song haha. I think we could agree with all 999 of those and the thousandth is just my personal connection to it haha.
When he talks about "what you are to him" ive taken it as there was somebody else who she left him for and was able to actually bear the weight of two and ive also taken it as "him" as in vessel himself, like remembering who she was , what she was in their "eden" if you will and the beginning of the relationship because maybe who he is now isnt the same person but he cant ever forget the feeling which can kinda confirm the phantom limb syndrome aspect
My take on the holy vapor line... Choking on holy vapor is him burying his sadness in drinking, waiting for her to grace him with her presence or forgiveness (the holy favor). He needs her to forgive him or "wash him clean" if she doesn't, he will continue to sink further into his depression/bad habits.

What I wouldn't give to see High Water live. They've never played it, and it makes my heart hurt 🥲 Even the way the melody and movement in the chorus feels like waves shifting back and forth. Plus, that distorted radar beep really is one of my favorite sounds they use in their discography. No one ever mentions it! Yay!!!! I'm so excited for this! I am smiling so hard watching y'all and your little inside jokes 😂. Telomeres is a song that grew on me until it's now one of my favorites. Hell, I just let my ST playlist play on shuffle most of the time because there are no skips 😊. Unless I'm wanting to hear something specific anyway. High Water is pretty straightforward, but I liked the remarks y'all made about choking on sacred vapor being choking on the remnants of a relationship that has dissipated. Never thought about it like that but, totally makes sense. Missing Limbs got to me while I was waiting for my Walmart pickup order, I just burst into tears out of nowhere 😂. But yes, Vessel writes lyrics that so many of us can picture ourselves in the imagery he paints. If you listen to Missing Limbs to the end of the static then go immediately to Chokehold, it's like that connection was meant to happen that way. Vessel has purpose in everything he does. Totally genius. The beginning of Chokehold sounds a lot like an MRI machine 😂. I had to have an MRI earlier and they put ST on for me in the headphones and I was mentally cracking up cuz Chokehold came in then the MRI started and it was so close in sounds 😂. Anywho, loved the reaction as always. Glad to see the both of you again. You should check out the live versions of the songs you know from the Eden album and post those for us! The “missing limbs” is a metaphor. An example would be like if you experience a loss or breakup. And you feel an embrace or hug but they’re not actually there. Hence the “missing limbs”. aka emotionally still connected without being physically connected
I think the most popular meaning is phantom pain, that pain or discomfort you feel where you used to have a part of yourself (or a limb) but we all know that he is referring to that stormy lover that he has shown us throughout his songs. I always cry with this song because for a long time I have lived with that metaphorical pain that Vessel sings about in this song. A fact that you might like to know before moving on to the next album is that the visualizers have depths, the further you go through the album, the deeper it is. Missing Limbs is 10,924m below sea level where the Mariana's Trench is located and so it has conditions that Vessel perhaps wanted to represent such as absolute darkness, unbearable pressures and absolute solitude where there is only uncertainty since it has not been fully explored. Pure art. PS: I was waiting for both of you to react together to this and it was worth it :) thanks for being so committed to this journey with us
The ending of Missing Limbs I believe is an ambulance siren. It truly brings the album full circle and goes straight back into track 1 (Atlantic), which describes the aftermath of a suicide attempt I really enjoyed seeing this journey with you guys! I would love to see more Silent Planet too!

"Telomeres" is one of my favourites from this splendid album. It's just so perfect to my ears and feels like a warm hug. Who wouldn't want to be wanted so much their other half that even through death, that partner's arms are still wide open for them? With the exception of my other half. He didn't like it when I played it for him a few weeks ago. I was a bit disappointed at his reaction. "High Water" isn't my favourite track on the album, but I definitely don't hate it. "Missing Limbs" to me is such a sad song. It's also very, very beautiful. It's made me cry more than once, listening to it and I love it. It's definitely one where you want to give Vessel a huge hug and say, "Who hurt you this bad and why? I'm going to get them for you because you shouldn't have to feel like this, ever." Yes, it's a very deep song. This is the closing track on their second album and it was also on the setlist of their recent tour. I was lucky enough to see them on one of their UK dates and I loved every minute of their set, but this song really tears at your heart and hits differently when you hear it live.
In Teleomeres the "as you collapse into me" refers to the "drink you in"... the drowning symbolism. If you open your mouth underwater there is a vacuum. Water can enter your mouth but you control your air pressure in your lungs up to your mouth. You can force air out (bubbles) preventing water from entering your throat/lungs. In Teleomeres, this encounter he's purposefully let the water in...drinking in the depths of who sleep/person is and commiting to drown in them. If you really love someone....truly want to love someone you have to get to those depths...most of us never do or will because we keep people closer to the surface.
I took this part not as oceanic but as more of a cosmic afterlife: "We will go beyond the farthest reaches where the light bends and wraps beneath us" As the 'through death' part. I think he's meaning that she's still alive but he will be willing to still be with her even after they're gone. And that when they are beyond this mortal plane they will be above the very concept of light where it can wrap beneath them, something it doesn't actually do but when they're above it then it won't matter. And he's willing to wait until they're dead because as he says in High Water, the very next song, "I can hold my breath forever." And I think "You still bear the weight of your own existence and you'll never bear the weight of two." means not that he bore both of their weight but he can't quite bear his own and he's been unconsciously leaning on her. That one I feel less strong about. "Just let me know If nowadays, the outer rounds of heaven don't Keep up on the charm offensive anymore Failing to remind you what you're living for" I think the outer rounds of heaven is where her new relationship supposedly is. If she isn't with Vessel but instead with 'him' then that must be how good it is. And if doesn't stay on the offensive and keep charming her then let me (Vessel) know.' And I think this next part is a list of different contradicting things he's wanting that could solve his problem of not having her: "I'd give anything: 1. to borrow your indifference, I'd drink you in 2. To temper your belief in all my promises 3. To swallow my desire and choke on it" "The blessings rain on battles in the heaven's arms" I think you got that one. Just because you're butting heads sometimes doesn't mean you aren't still in heaven. Love isn't the prize, love is the fight. "And my polite advances won't last for long The eager apprehension is wearing off" I think this is more about her relationship with "him" (not Vessel). He's being polite right now but he will stop being polite about his advances. PLEASE keep this in mind when you listen to the outro of The Summoning. No offense to our favorite uncle but, It gets a bit too much when relating everything to just yourself although we all do that at some point I feel like this music is coming from a storytelling perspective and there's a story there and I think everybody's trying to figure out what it is. I always said that Telomeres is Sleep Token's most Deftones-sounding song ever made and I'm not the only one to say this either. I love Telomeres of most of the 3 songs you are reacting to.
